I feel she is being honest, but she is a bit "ditzy".

This is not a very easy process. It's not a matter of calling your local representative on a Monday and it's live in front of Congress on Wednesday. It just doesn't happen that way. From what she just said this process started with her before he was nominated while he was on the short list. She contacted a number of friends for advice and there is a lot to consider. Someone like this has to consider if they even want to turn their life upside down by moving forward with with this. If they decide to move forward, they have to decide if they want to hire an attorney, if they should contact a reporter, their local representative, then she has to be vetted (is this person crazy? a criminal?), then they document everything, then they start looking into if the claims are true.

Take politics out of this. If your local school board was having a vote to hire a new high school principal and suddenly multiple women came forward saying this man had sexually assaulted them twenty years ago, would the school board continue to move forward with a vote? Or would they stop everything and call the police and demand an investigation? You know without a doubt the school board would stop everything and have an investigation. Yet for some reason we aren't doing this here. This is for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court, the highest court in the country, and we need to have a MUCH higher standard than a local county school board.

Again, take politics out of it. When a forty year old man comes forward and claims a priest molested him when he was a teen, no one says "Maybe he was confused" or "maybe he doesn't remember what happened correctly" or "there is no evidence of this". That doesn't happen. Instead they call the police and have an investigation. Every time.

Some people are claiming the Democrats are "playing political games". I disagree. They pushed a Supreme Court nomination through last year and none of this happened. Before the accusations, this was a bad candidate. He lied under oath multiple times during his confirmation, and before the accusations he was most unpopular nominee of all time.

It's odd how with the last nomination the Republicans weren't remotely interested in filling a Supreme Court - In fact, they demanded we wait until after the election. Now suddenly they want to push this nomination through as quickly as possible. Bullshit. They want to push this through because they want this man on the Supreme Court to protect their President in the event the Mueller investigation lands in the lap of the Supreme Court.

A President accused multiple times of sexually assault women is putting a man on the Supreme Court who has been accused of sexually assaulting mulitple women. This is fucking disgusting already.

It shouldn't be a political thing. Both parties should work together to nominate people. That's not difficult at all.

If I understand correctly, it's the President's office who picks the nominees. It shouldn't work that way. It should be Congress - both sides - making a short list of people that they ALL agree on, and then having the President pick from that list.

Also, I am hearing a lot of discussions about term limits for Supreme Court Justices. I agree with this. At a certain point of time people at the highest levels of government are out of touch with the American Public. Hillary Clinton said during her campaign that she hadn't driven a car in thirty years - she gets driven by her security team. I'm sorry, but if you cannot hop into your car and drive around the corner to your local yogurt place with your kid you shouldn't be running the country or making judgement on laws on average citizens. These people - which is nearly everyone in Congress - are completely out of touch with what the average American goes through.

With the last nomination the Republicans demanded we wait an entire year before we even considered a confirmation hearing for a nominee, but now suddenly there is this huge urgency.

Again, if this was a school board trying to hire a high school principal and such accusations suddenly came to light, they would stop everything and have an investigation.

Why is the President telling us the FBI cannot do an investigation when we know they can - they did with Anita Hill. It's routine for the FBI to re-open an background investigation when new information comes forward. Why aren't they holding an investigation?

Do you know why they aren't interested in an investigation? With this new information coming forward people are claiming Kavanaugh was a party animal and intoxicated more often than he was sober. A new investigation into Kavanaugh will make him look very bad, and when this new information comes out in an investigation he won't be confirmed.

The Republican party demanded dozens of investigations into Hillary Clinton for no reason. Now they don't want to have any investigations. It doesn't work this way. You cannot demand investigations for no reason other than political purposes for a witch hunt, and then deny investigations when someone accuses a nominee of sexual assault.

Hold an investigation. It's just that simple.

This is why I am no longer a Republican. I saw what their party was about during the Whitewater investigation. They took six years to investigate something where the Clintons did no wrong doing, and they asked questions about interns that had no nothing to do with the investigation. They weren't interested in the truth. They were interested in making the President look bad. That was their ONLY intention.

All of the investigations we had into Hillary Clinton were more of the same. They weren't interested in getting at the truth, but instead they wanted to make Hillary Clinton look bad. I was all for the investigation, but if we are going to hold an investigation let's hold an investigation. I've said this before on GFY. We needed a full investigation into Hillary Clinton, as well as former Secretaries of State who have had the same exact email server set up, and also we need to investigate members of Congress who do something similar. If there is wrong doing at ANY level, I want to know about it. But that is not what was important to the Republican party.

Now suddenly they don't have to have any investigations at all. This is a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the country. We do not just slop this in.

I watched until 2:00 then had a doctor appointment. She was credible, seemingly honest and had patience. I know from personal experience you don't always remember every detail of a horrific trauma. She has nothing to gain but a lot to lose. She and her husband and kids had to move. Her parents had to move. If he's appointed, she's going to be looked at as a liar.
