first off he claims he doesn't own any copyright to any of the images. But he stamps them with corpsie.com. and then he publish them to the web and generates money from people that veiws them.

Well he is defiently not to bright as this violates all copyrights laws.

and with the response I didn't shoot the photos I just posted them. doesn't fly with me either.

This is the same type of response that CPers use to justify their sites.

I think Makavelli is just talking about gore sites in general, like yours the one you like and the ones you link to. This shit is extremely disturbing to most. I know there are people out there with a morbid fascination ( which I will never get) but jesus! I can watch fake gore on tv and in movies all day but the real shit makes me sick to my stomach and I can't eat for the rest of the day.
It is especially painful for people that have lost loved ones like Makavelli and myself. I hate rotten.com being up and others like it...they desensitize people to violence and gore, they cater to sick people and to top it all off I got an e-mail from them once from supposedly from one of my friends (it wasn't, they just snagged their addy somehow) and I opened it up and it was those disgusting and very sad pics of Chris Farley dead in his house.
It was so incredibly disturbing to me not only because of the imagery but because my uncle died the same exact way. Now all I can think about is whether my uncle died looking like that and if somebody put his pic on rotten.com, I would be devastated.I will never forget those pics and it gives me a horrible feeling just thinking of them, I didn't eat for a week. Just think how his brother felt finding him.
Think of how all of those people on those sites died for you and other sickos enjoyment. Think about how their families feel knowing that people are making money off of their pain and grief. Not to mention that you have to be completely off to be able to see these pics and not get sick to your stomach or horrified or whatever.

What you figured out is the chance of the last person in the class having the same birthdate as someone else in the class.

You having forgotten to take into consideration of everyone's chances. Juge was talking about ANY two birthdays coinciding with each other, NOT one specific birthday coinciding with any other.

You are wrong again Wizdom.

Juge didn't forgot about anything. Yes, the flip of a coin is always 50%, regardless of the previous flips. There is no such thing as reseting the odds, but I understood what you meant anyway. The odds of a classroom with 30 people having two same birthdays are the same everytime (exactly like the odds of a flip of a coin are the same everytime.) And Juge knows this.

1/12 change is not even close, but prefectly demonstrates Juge's point. People always greatly underestimate (or overestimate) how often things occur. Their so-called 'common sense' is flawed.

It doesn't even seem to make sense that the actually percentage of chance is 70.64% of 30 random people having an alike birthday. 1/12 (Wizdom's calculations) is close to what most people would guess and is a little under 10%... not even close.

"Common Sense has nothing to do with odds" only because common sense is usually wrong. Wizdom would keep his money when he'd actually make money!

Here's more interesting facts:

Q. How many random people do you need together before the odds of an alike birthday surpass 50%?
A. 23 people @ 50.7% chance. 22 people only have a 47.5% chance.

Q. How many random people do you need together to have a 1/12 percent chance of an alike birthday?
A. Between 8 and 9 people.

Ok, I finally got around to checking this out so here's my take:

Someone said Corpsie's site is making us all look bad, I don't think that's true at all. There's no relationship between his site and porn any more than there is between gambling and porn. Casinos are for adults, so is porn, so is sick pics at corpsies. There are lots of people who are very morbid, the fact that they're buying AP memberships shows that they're normal people that like to see gross stuff, but still like to jerk-off to a hot babe. (If they were buying memberships to rapeandkill.com that would be different)

If anything, sites like his might take some heat off of us. I mean after looking at his site your average porn site looks so wholesome!

Also don't pretend you're all so offended, it's perfectly natural to have (to an extent) a fascination with death and carnage. Why does everyone slow down to stare at a car wreck? Why do we love action movies and slasher flicks? It's sick, but it's not unnatural - it's a way of facing and accepting our own fears.

Also: I know it's common to say "there's no such thing as public domain images, do you have a license?" But there are pics that aren't copywrighted, and they can be used legally without a license. If I take a picture of a corpse in my backyard, then post it to mycorpsecollection.com where people trade sick images, it's implied that the rights of ownership are being waived, so corpsie can post it legally. Not the same as a scan from Hustler, which isn't public domain.

Why the arguments over all of this shit? I give Corpsie credit for his work. We all may differ in opinions, but we all have the rights to express these opinions. The site, while it may be considered immoral to some, appears to be completely legal. He's not cheating any sponsor. It seems that some people out there are a bunch of hypocrites. All of us peddle porn, but what about the person's view who thinks that pornography is immoral? If it's legal, it's fair game. Plus there are no apparent violiations of the TOS for the AP program, so why the fuss?

My post was to simply stat that the 1:180 signup ratio doesn't mean shit when the number of sign ups is 1, and the number of clicks is 180. This guy could have a 1:10,000 ratio. Look at every month for all these 10,000 clicks, giving that he gets 180 clicks/month. ONE of these months will show an awesome ratio (1:180) the rest will have a shit ratio (no sign ups).

This is such a low level of statistics that everyone should understand this.

The question I posed was to allow people to understand how misconcepted (is that a word?) people are when it comes to stats.

I really do not understand the meaning of your post. If you are trying to prove me wrong, then this is unneeded - I understand stats - really, I do. Common sense usually isn't very good when trying to determine the outcome of most statistic problems, including the coin one for most idiots.

Let me do the math for you: I'll figure out the chance that NO ONE has the same birthday, thus proving it backwards.

person 1 has a birthday.

person 2 has a birthday - 364/365 chance of not having the same birthday. chances are 99.7% that no one has the same b-day

person 3 has a 363/365 chance of not having the same birthday as the first two. take the 99.7% chance, and multiply this with the 99.4% chance that the 3rd guy has a b-day with the other two. this makes 364/365 * 363/365 = 99.1% chance

let's do this 30 times:
364/365 * 363/365 * 362/365 * .... 335/365 =
364! / 334! / 365^30 = 26.95% chance that everyone in the class has a different birthday.

100 - 26.95 = 73.0454633% chance that in a 30-person class, two of the perons (assuming no twins) have the same birthday

who would have guessed?

the answer would be slightly modified if i took feb 29 into account, but not by much.

Where did you go wrong? I'll tell you the most common error:

the chances of a person in the class of 30 having the same b-day as another IS NOT THE SAME CHANCE as you having the same birthday as someone in a 30-person class. The chances of that are 8.2%.
