There was a thread yestarday ( not sure if i read it right, i just skimmed it ) - where Rick Latona wanted to donate to some organisation the name lolittas.com but he's making profit from beheading videos or animal cruelty...

That's completely no morals. BTW i really wonder why he cannot use the name "lolittas" to promote a teen paysite - he should know that in the rest of the world "lolitas" simply means "teens" and there are several adult sposnors that will accept this traffic.

Anyway, back to topic - i never watched any beheading videos or never will watch any cruelty video.
As someone mentioned, this is one of the reasons i hate this biz - there are people with completely no morals here, who will do anything for a buck.

Now think about the average surfer on CJ. Yeh cool looking at unique content. Funny, bizarre, off the wall, pushing the edge, etc. and then they come to that video.

Bottom line, that video will do more harm than good. And you know in this conservative legal environment the last thing you want to push are the tens of millions of cat lovers in the US. All you need is a couple of cat people with powerful positions in the government to see that and you'll have someone who will make it there mission. People have a stronger reaction and determination to this kind of stuff then CP.

When I was a little kid, I was looking out the window towards the woods in our back yard and saw smoke and flames. My younger brother had started a fire in a pile of leaves and it was getting out of control. I ran down the hill and started yelling at him to get back so I could start stomping out the fire.

What I didn't know is he had used a bottle of gasoline like in that video to ignite it. Next thing I'm smelling gasoline and thinking oh shit, and it was saturated onto my jeans and my pants were on fire and I started freaking out. Luckily I remembered the best way to put out a fire in that situation is to starting rolling, which I did and it smothered the flames. I got singed on my legs but not badly burned and it hurt like hell. It would have been a complete forrest fire if I hadn't caught it in time.

He said he got the idea from watching some kids starting a fire on a TV show.

Sadly, I have seen more disturbing videos than this. There is currently a big public controversy over methods for slaughtering horses, and believe me, extreme animal cruelty is alive and well and LEGAL in the United States. Many horse-slaughter videos have been posted online by groups trying to stop this inhumanity and change the current laws.

However, therein lies the difference. To me, putting up a horse-killing video with links to write your congressman to try and change the laws is a lot different than putting up this cat video with the caption "The Hottest Pussy..." It's all in the context.

I think as adult webmasters we all believe in freedom of speech. But few of us support pedophilia which is a lot different than sex between two consenting adults. This video's presentation just glorifies violence and cruelty. There is no other point.

I personally believe there is a need for certain extreme content on the web. The beheading videos, bombs droping on large groups of people, a person being attacked by a shark, a suicide, or someone getting killed in a car crash..

It's all nasty stuff, but it can all be argued that it needs to be seen as you say the world is a fucked up place and people should know about it. However this video was not part of war or an accident, it was something done by two fucked up beyond belief kids.. For the simple fact of making the video and showing it, now that is reason enough to not post something like that..

What's next , some kids decide it would be cool to murder someone on video and send it in? Would you post that aswell?
Lastly naming it something like "hot pussy" with out any clear warnings makes it sound like you are making a joke out of the whole thing which is pretty sad.

here is the thing... if you were to look at TV news today people would say the same thing... any news company profits on reporting shitty things... CJ just doesn't edit anything before it goes out.

If parents aren't taking active responsiblity on monitoring their children's online activities there's not much we can do. We've got the code in all our sites to block them if the pc is running netnanny or anything like that. People will think it's cool / you're glorifying it / people will try this just to get on CJ: Other than a tongue in cheek response to the hatemail we're getting on this (here , we've never said we endorsed this type of activit. Who could? Look people, if someone has it in them to do something as horrible as this, they're a ticking time bomb. Do you HONESTLY believe that some decent human being is going to see this video and suddenly go out an torch an animal? The bottom line on this one is we refuse to run our lives or our sites in fear of what some crazy person will do. It's like "don't light your smoke with your zippo! You never know, that guy across the street might be a pyromaniac and seeing the flame might be the one thing that will set him off!" you're making money off this horrible act: oh yeah. serious bank - not. Aside from the loss of productivity from me spending three days answering emails and defending our actions (we still to this day answer ever surfer email we get), posting this hasn't made us any more money. Yeah, controversy = traffic = $ is the logic I've seen thrown around. But when controversy = traffic but does NOT = more clicks you know what you get? Higher bandwidth bill. Of course, while you haters are at it, why not accuse National-Net of something. They're "technically" making money off this. I'm just making a point, don't actually do it, they're good people and put up with a lot of shit on our behalf. So bottom line, why did we post that video? Same reason we post all this fucked up shit: the world is a fucked up lace and we 110% believe that if you WANT to see how fucked up it is, there should be a place to do so. No one FORCES you to come here. We give ample warning. If you want to keep believing the world is a happy place then go surf Disney. I feel bad for that cat for sure. I've got 3 cats, 2 dogs, and a fish tank. I grew up in the sticks of North Carolina and at one point we had 20 cats. Trust me, that video was the WORST thing I've ever seen. I couldn't watch it all the way through the first time. My younger brother had started a fire in a pile of leaves and it was getting out of control. I ran down the hill and started yelling at him to get back so I could start stomping out the fire. What I didn't know is he had used a bottle of gasoline like in that video to ignite it. Next thing I'm smelling gasoline and thinking oh shit, and it was saturated onto my jeans and my pants were on fire and I started freaking out. Luckily I remembered the best way to put out a fire in that situation is to starting rolling, which I did and it smothered the flames. I got singed on my legs but not badly burned and it hurt like hell. It would have been a complete forrest fire if I hadn't caught it in time. There is currently a big public controversy over methods for slaughtering horses, and believe me, extreme animal cruelty is alive and well and LEGAL in the United States. Many horse-slaughter videos have been posted online by groups trying to stop this inhumanity and change the current laws. However, therein lies the difference. To me, putting up a horse-killing video with links to write your congressman to try and change the laws is a lot different than putting up this cat video with the caption "The Hottest Pussy..." It's all in the context. I think as adult webmasters we all believe in freedom of speech. But few of us support pedophilia which is a lot different than sex between two consenting adults.
