You're more than welcome to be my guest, just be aware that the 'show floor' starts at the lobby this year so you should probably just sleep until dinner time when the guest pass is kosher.

Attendees can register at the show and get a pass there, yes. And, as I wrote earlier, those who lose their mailed badges in-transit can pick it up when they get to the hotel.

I agree this is not a bash AVN tread. It is rather bring to light the flaw in this new concept and why it needs to be changed prior to going to the FL SAUSAGE FEST.

REMEMBER One thing this is a very expensive event to Network. Room/Airfare/entertainment/10k on Cabana space etc....
AVN needs to make a Buck but so does my Company. If webmasters are leaving the organized events early each night to go to South Beach my sales staff will not have time to try and sell to them. AND SAME IS TRUE FOR OTHER COMPANIES.

Lets face it this is a mature industry and it is not our first Rodeo. I don't care what event it is there is never more than 10% Talent. Come on we are talking about webmasters and we don't all have the mojo that Roger V has with the women

Aly I will make you a deal if 3 bus loads of Smoken Hot FL State Cheerleaders pull up and want to crash this party and Eat all that lunch food that is on their diet. CCbill will pay the $300 per head Just bring them straight to my Suite and I am sure I can find a few webmasters to help me out with the cost!!! ROFLMAO

I really have to agree with the wisdom of what A1r3k is saying here...except one thing to consider is that Internext is not just catering to the straight market they also are attracting the gay site biz as well so gay talent would have to get the same benefit.

What roger was saying makes sense to allow a discount for "talent" badges which they do for the AVN awards show... but the problem there is that people will take advantage of that and try to say everyone is "talent". Who is set up to monitor that? Aly knows a lot of people but she doesn't know everyone and that would be an impossible task for her ultimately.

we go to a lot of shows ... this show will cost us the most by far ... we're bringing two of our model ( some new site will be coming soon) they are not webmasters ..there just coming to wear shirts with logo's on them ... probably the only think that will give us a shot at making a return on this show. we just want them to hang at the pool all day and have fun with the guys.... if we have to pay an additional $600 other then the flights and rooms ... that's fucking crazy ... I'm going to be paying $1800 in passes alone .... this is not cool .... it going to cost me $8-10k just to attend and eat .... I don't think it's worth it. we should at least be able to have one model pass for 2 webmasters or discount model passes ...

reality is - i don't think people are buying the booths like they used to. just my opinion and this is an attempt to make up that extra lost revenue from the past.

but the pimps have a point - without the babes - the show WILL collapse. there needs to be a model pass - models arn't cheap to bring to this show. even if it it's a reduced cost - they HAVE to be there or the show WILL die or someone WILL take it over somewhere else.

Seriously though, you've got a very valid point. As a loyal advertiser with AVN I hope they'll see that they're way off base on this one and implement something along the lines of what Ron has suggested.

When did business conventions turn into night clubs? I do not get it. If I wanted to party, last place I would go would be to the show in August in that heat and humidity. People who go to shows to primarily to party and get laid are beyond me. Maybe I am getting old.

But in the end, why do people still line AVN's pockets. IMHO, they will make a fortune off this show. Everything is sponsored from the floor, to the elevators, etc etc. Amazing people still buy that crap.

This will be our first AVN show in a long time with no booth. They made the booths worthless by removing the floor as a central meeting place.

I am not going. Mainstream shows don't charge for floor entrance.. only for the seminars.

Problem is that AVN has run out of excused to justify their existence in the online industry. They know less about online business than the average surfer, so who is going to pay to see yet another panel of the same people they just saw at another show talking about chargebacks, 2257, copa.

Unfortunately AVN is doing what is in their best interest short term... but their worst interest long term. Other shows will end up sucking away enough sponsors and attendees from AVN over time that internext will end up just being "yet another show".

They had almost a complete monopoly on shows but they are systematically eliminating the things/people/parties/events that set them apart.

If cybernet would just get a non-white-trash hotel they would take AVN's place in a heartbeat.

AVN better figure something out for miami. because a $300 badge for a model/talent is appalling regardless of the finacial standing of any company to say the least. MikeVega Porntrepreneur Industry Role: Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: New York Posts: 12,788	we go to a lot of shows ... this show will cost us the most by far ... we're bringing two of our model ( some new site will be coming soon) they are not webmasters ..there just coming to wear shirts with logo's on them ... probably the only think that will give us a shot at making a return on this show. we just want them to hang at the pool all day and have fun with the guys.... if we have to pay an additional $600 other then the flights and rooms ... that's fucking crazy ... I'm going to be paying $1800 in passes alone .... this is not cool .... it going to cost me $8-10k just to attend and eat .... The reality is, many go there for the wrong and if the place was all guys, people would head out fast. But in the end, why do people still line AVN's pockets. IMHO, they will make a fortune off this show. Everything is sponsored from the floor, to the elevators, etc etc. Amazing people still buy that crap. This will be our first AVN show in a long time with no booth. They made the booths worthless by removing the floor as a central meeting place.

Problem is that AVN has run out of excused to justify their existence in the online industry. They know less about online business than the average surfer, so who is going to pay to see yet another panel of the same people they just saw at another show talking about chargebacks, 2257, copa. Unfortunately AVN is doing what is in their best interest short term... but their worst interest long term. Other shows will end up sucking away enough sponsors and attendees from AVN over time that internext will end up just being "yet another show". They had almost a complete monopoly on shows but they are systematically eliminating the things/people/parties/events that set them apart. If cybernet would just get a non-white-trash hotel they would take AVN's place in a heartbeat.
