Is it possible to get AIDS from a mosquito bite?

you can get malaria from a mosquito bite
you can get AIDS from a contaminated needle.
...
So would it be possible to get AIDS from a mosquito bite?

No, it would be impossible to get AIDS from a mosquito bite. Then again, nothing can give you AIDS.

Well... the blood is still viable for a while, so is the HIV virus. While a mosquito doesn't eject any blood when it bites a victim, in theory it would be possible to still get infected (however unlikely). Say if HIV-infected person A gets his blood sucked by a mosquito, mosquito then lands on clean person B -- specifically in a new wound. Clean person B then smacks the shit out of the mosquito as it is biting him on a fresh wound, squishing the mosquito in the process and causing the HIV-infected blood to squirt out and into his open wound.

Yeah, very VERY unlikely, but still in the realm of possibility.

I would suggest having sex with hookers and not mosquitos that way there is a less of a chance of getting aids.

Mosquitos transfer malaria, encephalitis, ross river fever, dengue, etc, etc.

Ross River fever and dengue are only passed from another infected person (human) so if you want to believe what the health authorities state, then keep on believing that mosquitos can't pass on HIV.

How many cases have been reported regarding HIV having been transmitted without any known cause. You might wonder, but it is quite a few and normally it has been someone in close contact (not physically or sexually) with an HIV infected person.

The argument that not enough blood is on the mosquito's proboscis to infect someone is completely flawed. I refer back to Dengue (break bone fever) and the like. I might add that I live in a dengue zone and you get a bit nervous when your neighbour has just come back from holidaying in Asia.

I have always heard no and that AIDS isnt transmitted easily, what I mean is that you have to close person contact like sexual, shared needle, things of this nature. I thought it could be transmitted through day to day contact with the public and that.

Therehas been scientific research with bees.
It was found that just a single bee is incapable of transfering aids.
Over a 1000 stings of a bee could do the trick though. So its mostly in the amount.

You wouldn't think so when you look at the devastation it causes to tens of millions of people, but the HIV virus is quite fragile. Almost all foreign environments start to kill it within seconds, after a few minutes of exposure to oxygen it dies. That is why it is so rare to actually be exposed to it from the every day environment. HIV coming into contact on your skin is going to do nothing unless you have skin lesion or open wounds, after a few minutes the virus is dead. There is still a lot of 'fear mongering' out there about HIV but save from unprotected sex and tainted blood (which is almost impossible to get in a first world nation) you really have a better chance of getting struck by a meteorite than getting the HIV virus.

To give you a gauge of how unlikely it is to contract HIV from the open environment (i.e. not explicitly sexually related), there has been only one "confirmed" case of contracting HIV from an open mouth kiss. That's 1 case in 47.3 MILLION cases of HIV.

The odds of winning a state lottery? Approximately 1 in 15 million.

How many bees would you take a risk with???? Most bees in Oz only sting once and then they die,so a thousand bees wouldn't transmit aids unless an aids infected person gave it a boner (joke).

Would you go to an Aids infected hairdresser who spits a lot when they talk. If you listen to the health experts, there is no risk. Didn't take long here for an aids infected hairdresser to lose all customers. Seems when exposing oneself to an aids risk, what the experts thinks or state, doesn't cut ice.
