Just used my first "committ lozenge", it works!

Got the 2mg commit lozenges....its midnight on saturday...which is the toughest for me, I'm usually out drinking & smoking 3 packs right about now.

But its working so far...It kept me from going & grabbing a pack.

Good shit

Still smoke free!

No I do smoke, and the only people in the world who say NRT will help you quit is the people selling it.

Something like 90% of people who use nicotine replacement are still using it or smoking again after 6 months.

I wish you the best of luck but honestly think that you're doomed until you break the nicotine addiction.

I've been in the upper 10 percentile of everything else in my life. I think i'll be alright. Thanks for the tip though!

find something distracting to do when you feel a craving...and drinking only makes it harder if you normally compliment it with smoking.

Good Luck...smoking is an expensive nasty habit that physically damages your body. Run 5 laps around your house and imagine breathing that hard everyday...

I quit cold turkey. EVERYONE I've known who tried to quit and didn't do the cold turkey route, ended up smoking again.

Not trying to give you doubts, just stating from personal experience, cold turkey is the best way to go.

I used the gum to quit, and quite a lot of it. But within 4 months, I was off the gum, and...knock on wood...just passed my 6 year quit anniversary in August.

For some people cold turkey is best. For some people a taper off method with replacement is best. Some people have to quit a few times before they get it. Do what is best for you.

i got addicted to the gum, then started smoking again, BUT now I still keep the gum around for when I have to go somewhere I won't be able to smoke. Like at the movies or in a store or something. I'm double addicted now.

I was going to suggest making sure you have other strong lozenges (non-nicotine) around and maybe popping those down the road when you feel the urge. Mix it up a bit. Don't let your mind and body learn to identify a lozenge with a dose of nicotine.

Congrats on 3 days, man... the next few (and couple of weeks) are probably gonna be harder - so be prepared. I once heard someone say when you've quit smoking for the same number of months as years that you've been smoking, you're a lot more free... and I found that to be the case when I quit, 8 years ago.

And I used NRT.

But for now, it's day-to-day... Remember why you quit, and, again - any pains that you've already put behind you will have to be relived if you light up another smoke. Keep those thoughts in the forefront, and they should help greatly.
