Safeway is a grocery chain, and as such, will be subject to pressure of everyone from environmentalists to religious nuts. It is possible that the wrong press over the AFF deal would kill the transaction. Not sure that's a wise move, to take it so far, but certainly Safeway is touchable on a PR level that AFF neer had to be concerned with.

You're also correct about settlement language-they can contain anything.

However, I find it hard to believe you would refuse a deal that:

A. Gives you say, 10 million dollars

B. Acknowledges no wrongdoing on the part of the defendants.

C. Requires you to keep your mouth shut for life.

I know the idealist in me (and probably you and everyone else) would like to think otherwise. Sure, it would be great to protect your brethren in the biz, but in the end, it HAS to be about you and your family. I don't think anyone can condemn that.

I certainly don't see a settlement being offered or reached that would admit guilt or set up a precedent for others to come to the Safeway trough.

Now, going to trial, well, that's a different matter and certainly could result in many more suits, if you are successful. Unfortunately, you probably won't have a verdict either way for at least ten years.

You got to be kidding me, a Grocery store wants to buy a porn company? Thats a first.

A little public exposure like you said and that deal would be done before it got started. I can't believe a grocery store would do this. Grocery stores are a dime a dozen, it would be nothing for a lot of religious nuts to choose to go to another grocery store and/or to picket. Middle age, married women with families do the majority of the grocery shopping, not excatly the crowd that this would sit well with.

Wow i am shocked a grocery store would make such an idiot move. Not to mention they know jackshit about this industry. Unbelievable.

They know a crap load about data collection, consumer information, demographics, and the like. I also would figure that they would distance from adult, shitcan affiliates, lower payouts, and convert to mainstream.

I do see it as an odd fit though for a buyout, yet knowing safeways data collection well fuck.

While it is laughable, Safeway knows nothing about organic or green so why not venture into porn with all their other advertising monies

knowing what to items to put on sale or by the cash register and what time of the day what age group is more likely to shop, or what demographic is most likely to use coupon has absolutely NOTHING to do with an online business muchless a porn company. I don;t care how well they collect data, they can be the best data collectors in the world if you dont know what the fuck to do with the data you collect you fucked. A grocery store, The risk reward for them is laughable. I can only assume some kid just inherited the grocery store chain and he wants to buy AFF to look cool.

Good luck distancing yourself from porn, considering adultfriendfinder and cams are probably the majority of the revenue.

Another way to derail the sale to Safeway would be to put out word that Safeway is looking to buy a porn operation. An operation that has no morals and advertises on sites that have Warez, Software Piracy, CP and everything else.

How many soccer moms will shop at a store that owns a porn operation that is known to advertise on CP sites and stuff?

Something to think about...

Sadly I think you're right. In the US justice is largely in the hands of the man with the most money. Right and wrong does not enter into it very often.

Not 100% true. If there's a sale in the pipeline and papers are served it might be wise to settle very fast. Think back to Acacia and who was it who claimed they had to settle due to a sale going through? That was the company we knew about. The name escapes my fuddled brain. (Nice in, for you to insult me Trey. )

If that's Trey's line then good on him. How many others would think of doing the same?

If this is over the Zango "Redirection" of traffic or them screwing their own affiliates I doubt if it will be Adult that pursue this matter. More likely to come from the mainstream.

from what I understand that is an unsubstantiated rumor, and penthouse (again, unsupported in factual evidence, although more believable) actually purchases AFF.

as for any alleged zango incident, alleged suit, or alleged Ron Weiner tipping badly... I safely shield my ass with said allegedness.

I still however, would like to secure this spot #67 here on page 2, have a good day and gofuckurselves.
