How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

That questions is just as irrelevant as the one you asked....when placed in context.

Why?

1) Obama leads McCain in every Michigan General Election Poll except for 1 (McCain leads by 0.6). And that's without a solution to the delegate problem.

2) Obama is redrawing the electoral map. He is putting Republican strongholds like Virginia, Mississippi and Georgia into play.

3) Take everything you've known about past Presidential races and throw it into the garbage. His organization and fund raising is nothing like anyone has ever seen before. New voters and those who are used to being disenfranchised by Republican cage tactics are being catered to.

BS. Maybe he gets Virginia if he puts Webb as his VP.

If he is so good at organizing how come he got smoked by 40 points in WV and 30 points in KY? He's not winning WV and hell, even frickin Dukakis won WV.

I answered your question, you are just too fucking stupid to figure it out. You are so stuck in the past that you can't see the future that is staring you in the face. You will in Nov. when you get slapped across your racist face. History of past elections mean nothing this year. Just look at how Obama raised his money. It wasn't from big donors, it was from the little guys.

Red and Blue doesn't matter anymore.

I have empathy for your ignorance and fear and this allows me to understand and just as I can't fault a man with cancer for falling victim to his plight...... I cannot blame you for your sickness either.

As far as asking him what state did whatever in history etc etc .... you do understand the dynamics of conventional wisdom that you are basing your opinion on right?... And if so you would be intelligent enough to understand that there is nothing conventional about this election cycle and thus we have zero precedence to base any logical general election prediction on

in other words baddog.... you cannot predict the outcome of this contest based on passed election cycles as our country has never experienced an election cycle with anything close to the major variables in involved this time around

You do know that Kerry LOST NM and Arizona is right next doot to NM. Unless Obama has Richardson as VP he's not winning NM.

Also remember Kerry lost, Gore lost. Now even if you assume that Obama wins all the states that both Kerry and Gore won that's 248 electoral votes. Gore barely on won NM and Iowa while Kerry barely lost them. Kerry barely won NH which Gore barely lost. Even if Obama wins all 3( doubtful ) that leave him at 264 electoral votes. Or 5 shy of winning. So he needs at least one red state to win. And if he loses Mich or Penn he'll need 2 or 3 maybe more. Mich has 17 EVs and Penn 21. Virgina is the biggest of the group you name and it only has 13.

Let's see Kerry didnt win any of these states but did win Mich and had 252 electoral votes. All those four = 33 EVs subtract Mich 17 EVs and you get a net gain of 16 EVs for a total of 268 EVs. 268 EVs = LOSE.

One other thing for all you McCain supporters. How do you think that quote of "I don't know much about the economy, but I am reading Greenspan's book is gonna play in the general election, when gas is $5 and we are in a full blown recession. You think people are gonna like that he wants to keep us in a war? Explain that to me.

You all keep showing me old maps, lets see some real meat on why Mac should be president.

72 if he wins when he gets the job. lmao

Do you really have that much trouble remembering three years ago? Seven? Before that, there were Carter and Nixon.

I never said McCain should be president nor do I support him. But the fact is Obama has not won one big state besides his home state of IL, and most of those he lost before Wrightgate, and there are plenty of Hillary supporters that will not vote for him.

Most Cubans in Miami don't care about Cuba anymore. You've had 2 generations of American born Cubans and they wouldn't go back is both Castros died today and communism was banned. The only Cubans that care are the older ones and a lot of them have died and the rest that are still around have been in the US longer than they ever were in Cuba and they won't go back either. In case you didn't notice when Castro ceded power to his brother ther weren't any big celebrations in Miami. If that happened even 15 years ago there would have been HUGE crowds in the streets partying their asses off.

Quoted for truth. Also cubans are in the miami area for the most part. That's a big fucking state if you hadn't noticed. Not too many cubans in Tampa, Orlando, Tallahasee.

Pennsylvania - Has been D the last 4 elections but a swing state the last 2. Given Obama's showing, strong chance he'll lose it... 21EVs

Georgia - Was a swing state in 92 and 96, solid R since. Clinton won it in '92. Obama "could" win it. 15 EVs

Virginia - has been R the last 4 elections, was a swing state 92 and 96 but strong R since. Given even Clinton couldn't push it D, chance for Obama is slim. 13 EVs

Mississippi - Last D win was 76. Since 60 it's been D once and independent 2x.. In other words, this is an R state and hasn't been in play for the last 20 years. Doubtful Obama would win it.. 7 EVs

So winning Georgia won't make up for losing Pennsylvania...

However, Louisiana (9EVs) and Missouri (11EVs) could be in play for Obama. Both were D during Clinton and R since, both being in play last election. Given his showing, Missouri could be tight but I don't see why he couldn't take Louisiana.

The D party is really STUPID using Caucus's since you don't get a sense of how the real voters in those states are feeling.. Any "wins" there indicate squat about how the general election could go.. Iowa (7EVs) is an important one. Was D for 3 terms and was a swing state last time but went R.. Getting that back would be important. Even though Obama won the caucas, I have a feeling he wouldn't win in Nov given he's not getting the white collar vote.

Here's some other ones.
Ohio - D during Clinton, R during Bush with it being in play every term except Clinton's second term. Hillary beat Obama solidly so has a better chance at taking it away from McCain.. 20EVs.

Tennessee - D during Clinton, R during Bush with it being in play every term except the last one. Hillary beat Obama solidly so it could be in play and winnable.. 11EVs.

Arkansas - D during Clinton, R during Bush with it being in play last election. Hillary beat Obama solidly so it could be a win for her.. 6EVs.

Arizona - Clinton won it once but it's been in play the last 2 elections. Hillary beat Obama so it could be in play for her.. 10EVs.

At the end of the day, I see more upside for Clinton as opposed to Obama.. It's hard to tell for some important states though because of those stupid caucus's.

So quite seriously, the past 8 years hasn't made many republicans change who they vote for this election?

I find that hard to believe, especially with the economy the way it's going right now. Seems to me if people were riding the fence, they'd be hopping over to the democrats, at least for this election?

I've heard the opposite that the younger generations want to be able to go back to cuba and visit.

A recession is defined by two consecutive quarters of negative growth. We have not had a single quarter of negative growth. No need to thank me for educating you.

Take the oil companies out of the equation and what do you get? We all know they are making record profits, but that is about all that is.

The only way she gets the nomination is for Obama to get shot. History, as Chris points out in the video, this really could happen. We all KNOW that.

There are so many reasons it was dumb for her to point this out. She will certainly not benefit.

You are so smart, that you know more than all the economists. You are such a fucking fag when it comes to protecting the worst president this country will ever see. You and Bush are the only ones who don't think we are in a recession. You can quote all the stats you want on what a recession is, but when inflation is going thru the roof and people are getting laid of in the tens of thousands, call it whatever you want, but we are in a world of shit thanks to your butt buddy Bush.

Let me educate you

A recession is defined by two consecutive quarters of negative growth...and until that happens it is immaterial who says we are in a recession...now isn't it?

BTW...I am not a fan of President Bush and never have been. I did not vote for him either time that he ran for the Presidency.

But he's such a great organaizer. That the excuses his supporter uses to say he can win red states. The same reason why he lost KY and WV is the same reason why he'll lose NC, SC, GA, TN, AL, MS, AR, ID, MT, NE, ND, SD, UT etc etc

Tell the vast majority of American who find it ahrder and harder to do even simple thing like buy FOOD and GAS for thier car and pay utility bills that there is nothing wrong with the economy. I can 100% guarantee you if McCain uses your reasoning in his campaign he will lose. Trying to teach a Econ 101 lesson to the voters will backfire. Voters are not in the mood to hear how "techically by definition" there's nothing wrong with the economy.

ever hear of the phrase "preception is reality"?

Gator, you and I are on the same page here. I always love republicans stating technical reasons why the economy is not in a recession. Mortgage crisis, gas at $4 and climbing, wages declining, an unending war, but things are ok

The king is a fucking tool and a waste of carbon.

Where is that picture of baghdad bob when I need it.

Many states are in mini-recessions, that is for sure. One of the hardest hit is Rhode Island where the Democrats looted the state.. big time.

Once again protect the fucks that did this to the country. All you fucking neocons can die a slow fucking death. Hopefully a painful one too.

I am waiting to hear how the economy in the shitter is Bill Clintons fault. Be a fucking man and admit that you and the rest of us have been fucked by Bush/Cheney/Rove/Rumsfeld/Wolfson

Please point to where I said that there is nothing wrong with the economy. The economy is in a positive growth slump but it is not yet into negative growth...and until it is there is not a recession...but it definitely is headed in that direction. The economy has been up and it has been down since the end of the Second World War...and the same cycle will take place over the next 63 years. In a capitalistic society this is inevitable.
