cc processors
I'm need other opinions....which is a better cc processor: ccbill or epoch?
From the research I've done, it looks like epoch seems to be bigger and has a better affiliate setup, but ccbill seems to be more commonly used. |

I think ccbill is also bigger (could be wrong but pretty sure I am not).
Both could use a better admin. Affiliate setups - there are plenty of 3rd party aps available for both. You can also easily get by with just using what they offer. Best bet is to go with ccbill and also epoch - then proceed to set up ccbills cascade feature.

Definitely use both of them, they even offer integrated cascading these days
CCBILL is still, even after all the years, not a bad solution to start your affiliate back end, they pay like a clockwork and with a lot of scamming going on constantly every affiliate likes the fact that he gets paid what he earns no matter if the paysite owner is out of coke or not I would even disagree with After Shock Media regarding the admin - as I believe the CCBILL admin is extremely intuitive and functional, considering the amount of functionalities and more importantly the amount of data that go through. I was involved with managing IT projects several times and this piece of software is actually something I consider to be excellent in its design / functionality and interface. Other pluses: - you can fix payments on any of the offered currencies, which is handy especially if you want Europeans to pay in Euro - with my custom cms I can also offer an option of sending traffic to the forms with regional billing / regular billing / fixed prices = lot of freedom about how do you want to bill your customers EPOCH - according to my experience most probably less scrub and works probably a little bit better with certain European cards, to pay with Epoch is no brainer and canceling is also easy. As for the admin - the new admin is more flashy but I find annoying, when I need to re-login and use different parts of the software put on different domains etc. The stats format could be also a little bit improved since it's a lot of clicking and additional calculations to get the essential data I need. I actually kind of liked better the older one, more crude interface. Both have excellent customer service, both pay like a clockwork, both have experienced and professional sales executives, both are expensive. Why? I would guess two main points: 1) there is not that many processors that wouldn't go under during the past 10 - 11 years - a question of trust 2) their service is turn key and professional - professional and timely support / fraud prevention (is this the right word?) / built in affiliate software / payouts to affiliates etc.

I know something we are working on for aniloscash is storing and passing thru all referal data like nats. we currently post the url that generated the sale which ccbill should do but I think thats helpful information. I know I get some complaints about us not passing thru all referal data. And thats probably a main reason why people prefer nats. Also with nats everyone is used to the navigation to get the tools and promotional items.
but I always ask my put all your eggs in one basket.

Use either and cascade to the other.
When you offer affiliates to join either they go for CCBILL most times. Maybe because they are already with CCBILL. The good thing about both of them is THEY PAY THE AFFILIATES and do it with one check for all the sponsors. Which is a bonus for both the sponsor and affiliate. The affiliates know they don't have to trust you to pay, reach a minimum level, wait for you to pay, the check won't bounce, it could get cleared faster at their bank because it turns up every month (does not apply to wire transfers) and lump all their payments together. None of the third party solutions do this and if you don't do the payments yourself you will need to cost in another company doing it for you. Both admins are good and take a bit of time to get used to. I would put CCBILL ahead of Epoch because I can phone and talk to guys who really know their stuff and their site. More so than Epoch. I can also do more on CCBILL like join prices/length and on Epoch need to send them the prices/length for them to give me a link (unless they changed it recently). It takes a bit of time to fathom their admin areas out, but should not be too hard if you're running a site. ![]() Epoch scrub less. I know this from the content stores on sales a little above $29.99. ![]() |

That's automatized now, you can set this in the administration, you only need to wait till every new product gets approved before putting it online.

So, if I sign up for both ccbill and epoch using the cascade management feature, do I get double charged...or does each processor only handle the affiliates who've signed up under them?

Depends on what you want and what volume you have. But, merchant is always best.
