Thank you...I have been around on the boards along time..my skin is pretty thick (in more ways than one). Every now and then somebody just decides to be a prick and assume that because I have a company name in my nick that I am a post whore. There are more than a few folks around here that know that I have posted in pretty much the exact same way for years now - even back when I was just Sjayne with no company and no real sig.

Maybe I should start going down the 'see sig' route and make them happy ;)

a funny thing about this biz is that stupidity and thievery is worshiped. Imagine you just walked into a crowded convention center full of your peers and your CPA is making a similarly retarded rant. you would fire him... or any other professional for that matter. You would be thinking "wow man... you've totally derailed and lost your fucking mind"

Why is it sooooo totally fine in this biz to go full retard and then have people defend you like it makes total sense?

Why is it that the only ones calling people out on that sort of retarded behavior, usually just trolls and habitual shit disturbers?

I've never seen such a massive collection of irretrievably spineless, ass kissing pussies.

It started with talent. They are all drugged up fucks. That filtered down into the programs.

I have met more insane fucks in the last year on this board than normal ones. It's so damn weird how this guy is the "norm" these days.

meltdown somewhere else plz, thx. ps gfy.

With your #3 through, I think it should be changed to 'affiliates can read through programs bullshit posts.' Everyone knows that a 14 years and huge payouts - means nothing. It's like you are trying to convince us of your REP, that you are better than others.. When chances are nobody cares or questions that, not even newbies.

Add to that, anyone with traffic knows that by simply adding a sponsor in or even giving a sponsor a push, isn't going to 'make the difference.' - We gota be a little reasonable about this.

Think of this... I have pushed you, you guys have paid me a great deal of money. If I really questioned you after all these years, I would ask PK - who has pushed you as long as I can remember.

But you guys come here, trying to some how convince me of your rep - as if that was ever in question by prob 90% of GFY ...

So if you are wondering why people don't respond, or they aren't moving traffic over to you... Well, I would go out and say that you aren't marketing correctly. Your ideas of what Webmasters want is skewed because you think your rep should hold you...

Replace your rep with proven results, people talking about you all over the place because you 'really do produce results' TODAY - and you will get Webmasters like mad.
Great post!

Mr. Right has no traffic, and won't promote you anyway. Defending yourself against these trolls is a waste of time. The fact that you are replying to them just shows you're a bit naive.

[QUOTE=TheDoc;15726440]Was that a joke about people thinking the affiliate business is dieing or is dead?

Not a joke.

In Phoenix, I sat on a traffic panel with the title "Direct Marketing or Affiliate Marketing ....Do you choose". Basicly the tenor of the panel was whether or not you need affiliates to market for you any more and if the model was over. I happen to think it is not, but some people do, and for sure it it is changing. Many programs are lowering payouts, doing it them selves, hiring people in-house etc.

It is my belief that programs and affiliates should work together especially now. This whole post was a response to sending out an open invitation to pay folks who work hard what they deserve; and not receiving one reply to a truly honest request. I don't spend a lot of time on the boards, but it couldn't be so far removed from real business discussions.

brazzers is one of the few that has significant in house traffic and still are agressively soliciting affiliates as far as i can see.

the death of the affiliate shit is bs. anyone who knows seo and traffic generation isn't going to wotk for someone else.

That's some funny stuff.... It sounds like a big group of people just clued in that in-house traffic is far more valuable than Webmaster traffic. But without question, plenty of others have known that

The affiliate end isn't dieing, affiliates still produce more sales globally than any other medium online. But our core base of Webmasters has gotten much smaller, which is producing far less global traffic for our Industry.

So to me if they want to put a final nail into the industry coffin, they only need to exclude affiliates even more.

This is the mentality of, build it and they will come... without exchanges, without other sites linking to them, pushing someone or them, ie: Other Webmasters by the 1000's all being part of the global traffic exchange - they wouldn't have any traffic to make sales.

I believe there was an Xbiz article just recently on the same topic.

Unlike you, I do spend a lot of time on the boards and I actually like GFY for all its pains. As you know, I do a lot of biz here too. The fun posts are just that..a bit of fun and a chance to network. I know a lot about some of my affiliates through those posts..sort of like taking them to the bar at shows.

What I do think is that a lot of people with traffic don't know that they can come and talk to an company rep and 'do biz'. They think that it is something only massive whales can do. They watch threads with people measuring their dick sizes in dollar bills and think that they must be so far out of those guy's league that they don't feel they have anything to put on the table but many of those that don't moan the loudest do and I want those guys to know they can come to me and deal.

I want them to know that if they can send sales then I will bend over backwards to help them get whatever they need, etc.

So my message is a bit simpler than yours....I want the guys that are lurking in the shadows that have solid sales in them to hit us up and talk to us about what they want and need.

I can't say I have seen the stats.. But I remember the big promos when they were breaking the marks.. And I remember karasxxx had like 350,000+ uniques a day (just the one site) at one time, via a external counter.

I think it's true.. anyone that has been around long enough has no reason to not think it's true.

That's about $40 million a year, roughly $3.5 million a month. I certainly see that as possible, especially back in the "hay day."

Figures that someone in the space since February 2009 would post this. Ask anyone who has been inthe business longer than 3 months who Max Cash is and how much they have paid.

I don't need to put up the stats it's more common than (obviously) you know.

as for the original rant, there might be some merit to it, but let's be fair, virtually every big (or.. small) program is willing to work out "deals" with affiliates nowadays... I would be surpised to find one that wouldn't....

so it's not that a thread "let's make some deals" is something exceptional.... also, probably most people are already comfortable with their current sponsors and see no reason to move..

That's the wrong directly in marketing I'm talking about. You already chat and are friendly, you help people, etc - thus you will get the newbies. Just sucks we need so many to make a difference.

Ok.. fair enough.

You want my traffic.. I'm like most Webmasters. I have my bulk traffic source that does crap across 40 sponsors. And then I have my two sponsors that I actually make money with, that I put some focus into.

So you... Post on GFY and forums, your cool, nice.. I'm sure the newbies eat it up. And maybe I think you 'could' make me some money... But, why would I move?

I have Sponsor A: They saw me post a domain, they contacted me, dev'ed the domain for me, I paid for nothing - they even bought a link for it. Sponsor B: Hits ME up, I tell them "I want you to build these 3 domains for me"... When they are done, I'm pushing them - my job is to promote it - not build it. Sponsor C: Sends me a gift, a free dell mini - and I haven't sent them a sale.

It has nothing to do with what they are doing for me, it could be anything. It's the fact that they are working for me, I'm not working for them...

You want Webmasters to hit YOU up... you have it backwards.

I guess the idea that you have 30k posts vs. my 6k posts - is my point. How could you have time to post 30k times and work one-on-one with the every possible Webmaster you can?

I think the funniest part of the thread is that everyone knows you are a joke.

Bullshit!

Established reputation means a ton ... tours ARE new ... our backend does the job $.02

The new business from past affiliate partners we have wrangled in the past year proves it.

That doesn't change the reasoning behind Johhny's post though!

BTW - "they" say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder ... Johhny going full retard is a thing of beauty to me!

It wasn't me who said it's Jedi, I'm past all this drama, didn't mean to 'out' him, was just sick seeing people saying Mr Right is Batts.

In fact i said i can put money on it that it's not Batts, but still only Lazycash got convinced perhaps.

Believe me, I could write much more to prove my point, but well, who really cares?

You may honestly be too stupid to realize a good thing when you see it. By the way a bit of good news: it is a proven fact, that bitching about other programs and their payouts and bitchin about how bad the economy is and bitching that you are not getting paid what you deserve is, in fact, a proven way to increase your income. You should be proud of your efforts; you are on your way.
No offence, but calling your affiliates too stupid to realize what you're offering isn't winning you any support. We stupid affiliates have lots of options these days that maybe we don't need your attitude towards why we should work with you/your company.

Ya know what. You're right. It was said out of frustration, and it was the wrong thing to say. To any webmaster I offended, I'm sorry. It is a strange market place where sincere open request to make deals is un opened and not responded to, but calling everyone mono-syllabic-foot-shuffling mouth breathers brings hundreds of responses.

Truly my bad.
