I've registered a ton of domains with them in the past couple weeks and all have kicked in immediately. I have it set in my account to do that upon new registrations and upon quick check outs, perhaps take a look at your account settings. There is very options regarding domain defaults.

I have an open ticket with moniker at the moment, will see how long they take to get the job done. Moniker does need to revamp their domain managment system...still can't figure out shit...

All the registers have issues, but most will agree that we care most about price and the security of our domains. I lost one at godaddy by accident...and my rep. was able to get it for me and waived the redemption fee of $85...I did not realize I let it expire, since I am letting hundreds expire.

If she's to busy to take my money I'll leave it elsewhere.

I can understand her not giving a fuck about random webmasters who want to do business with Moniker, after all its not her profits. Whats hard to understand is why such a big, respected company would continue to keep her onboard with situations like this continually being spoken of.

If she isn't sharp enough to set her ICQ and work emails to accept communications from prospective clients they need to hire someone who doesn't mind dealing with clients, and is eager to bring new business in.
So should she have a netbook with her or something to answer support questions while at a show? Thats just silly. There is support there, call if you need something. She is an awesome rep and I've never had an issue she didn't handle with a quickness. Bari is a huge asset to Moniker and she is the reason that I switched almost all my domains to moniker, and am moving the rest of them as I get time. I hate that I have ANY domains left at godaddy, and the rest of mine are at Dotster and Im moving those too.

It took 5 hours for the support ticket to get answered, which I am okay with. Now we will see how long it takes for a domain to get from Fabulous to Moniker.

damn, I went to namecheap yesterday and used their live help ticket and got an answer within 30 seconds (usually through their tickets though they generally answer within 15 minutes..... )

5 hours waiting is a whole wasted workday imo

what do you mean by "kick in"?

you buy a domain and you get free privacy for one year, it doesnt kick in you need to enable it on the domain you want.

What he is saying is that if you do a whois history the first one listed will be shown as the real info. Even if you buy privacy at the same time it still happens with some registras that the info isn't protected at first. Its where I've caught a lot of people on gfy in the past. They think they can hide cause they had privacy on, but a simple whois history record will show the first entry.

It will kick in immediately if you use the standard registration and check the box to enable whois privacy during the registration. If you use the express registration or forget to check whois privacy box during standard registration then it won't kick in until you go in after the registration and enable it.

I've moved all of my domains over to namecheap, their support is fast and their control panel is easy to work with. I have certain domains that I want whois privacy on. If you don't want whois privacy on some new registrations you can move it over and use it on those domains that need it to keep it from every expiring.

Exactly. To check the uptime of my sites, I run a couple of scripts on 2 of my servers. Scripts that notify me when a site is down or something about their config is changed. one thing they do is a whois lookup at regular intervals... and my logs show that domains registered at namecheap (with whois privacy enabled during registration) sometimes (not always) have my personal info instead of the whoisguard info in the whois db for a short period of time (up to 1 hr for certain tld's).

btw: Name.com has similar issues.

[QUOTE=Justin;15862497]Your competitors have free whois/privacy with new registrations, your price $4 per domain.

I usually register a boat load of domains per week and every week I'm saving money by not using your company. It's too bad really, I like your company.

Justin - my sincere apologies for not getting back to you/this thread sooner. I'm out of town/attending a company wide sales conference in LA - and have had limited access (and still do) to email. I'm back in the office on Thursday

Although Moniker's privacy service is not a free service, it's not $4.00 either. I can/will offer it to you for a discounted rate. Please email me directly with your account info/# and I'll take care of it!

Please keep in mind that Moniker?s security, service/support, added value services and focus on Domain Asset Management are unsurpassed in the industry. So although we may not be the cheapest, we are the best value with the most services!

Thanks!

Okay so your telling me that I should risk my domains with this method. It only took hundreds of hours just to find them. I don't use privacy, the wife knows, and I am using a PO Box. If your doing something wrong and you need to hide...that is whole other issue.
