I am still friends with every girl I have been in love with... which is 3, going back since the time that I was 15 years old. Some women I date seem to think it is dysfunctional, for the most part. Even though two of them are married with kids. But out of the 3, that was 14 years of my life.

I am actually quite proud of this fact. I don't broadcast it or anything, but if women I date ask, I do tell them that I have zero drama as far as ex's and give them that example. So WTF is wrong with keeping in touch with women that I loved a looong time ago?

So, I was just curious if any of you have this situation as well.

...and i wont hide what I do, either they will start asking why i get 20 checks a week in the mail, or why there is some model in lingerie running around my house. why i have so many lights and cameras, why i drive a Mercedes yet only work "part time" or why my friends are so "weird", lol.

Just about all relationships end because one of the people involved isn't interested anymore. Usually, the other person still is. Chances are that at least for that person, some of those feelings are still there.

In those friendships with your exes, either you or they are likely to still have some feelings that go beyond friendship. Plus, judging from the fact that you were in a relationship together, chances are that you find each other at least somewhat attractive.

So what you're telling new girls is this: you're friends with women you find attractive, who also find you attractive, and either you or those women are likely to still have some feelings that go beyond mere friendship.

I had a girlfriend in college who insisted she was "just friends" with her ex boyfriend. I told her that the only reason he still called her was that he wanted to get back with her. She said I was crazy.

Fast forward a few years after the relationship ended. I see the guy out in public. We chat for a few. He admits that the only reason he still talked to her back then was because he wanted to get back together with her. No shit!

I think those who still remain friends with their ex's are just leaving the door open for a future fuck, fling, whatever. You might see your friendships with your ex's as a good quality, sort of like reassuring all future girls that you won't cause any post-breakup drama.

No girl (or guy for that matter) wants their current boyfriend/girlfriend to interact with any guy/girl they once fucked. You want that chapter of their lives to be done.
