Would you promote SpookyCash with a CCBill affiliate option?

SpookyCash affiliates are currently all promoting via the Epoch interface. Anyone holding their breath can relax because no Epoch accounts will be changed and there would be no need for anyone to change any links.

I have noticed some programs adding a CCBill option, so affiliates can choose to promote via either Epoch or CCBill or in some cases a standalone program.

If you have goth, punk, alt, rave, fetish, etc. traffic, would you promote SpookyCash with a CCBill affiliate option?

You did not need to change any CCBill links at all to get credit via the Epoch system. What in the world made you think you needed to change anything? As I also upsell other sites, I am very sensitive to programs making me change links, so we worked very hard to make sure all old links would continue to work in Epoch and the transition was fairly seamless.

I understand some affiliates just prefer to consolidate all their affiliate promo as Epoch programs or all as CCBill programs. Some affiliates have mentioned they preferred when used CCBill as primary, although many prefer the current system, and I think most could go either way. But, if enough people would like to have the other option, I'm considering offering both options, so affiliates have the maximum possible choice.

Read again, she did not say you would have to change links. Said you could promote it either way from what I got.

If I had the traffic I would want ccbill option for sure. I do not promote any straight epoch programs anymore. I do not need 3rd party checks/etc. so I do not care if you would go nats or whatever, that is actually a negative for me (any 3rd party). I would accept a ccbill to epoch cascade though which ccbill offers and suppose the reverse would be ok to me too.

Why did you change any of your links? Did you not get the zillion or so emails we sent out to affiliates or see the multiple board threads where it said that the CURRENT EPOCH MPA3 CASCADE CREDITS ALL OLD CCBILL AFFILIATE LINKS.

I hate having to change links, so I went through kind of a lot of effort to make sure none of my affiliates had to change any links for Epoch, yet I still come across people who are annoyed because they somehow thought they had to change links. It is very frustrating because it makes me feel like I went through all the extra effort of doing a complex migration, when I could have just not bothered, and saved myself money and time by going with Netbilling or Zombaio or somebody else with a better percentage and fewer tools to give old affiliates credit.

I always prefer sending traffic to programs through a stand-alone system of some sort, be it an out-of-the-box package or a proprietary package. A system like that allows the program owner (you) to play around with billers, tweak things, change pricing, etc. etc. without me ever needing to worry about changing links. Plus, in theory, a system like that can lead to more actual sales if done right. Which should make any affiliate happy.

The links in the FHGs is what I was referring to... I don't recall ever seeing that e-mail... and for some reason I get three of them from you now (another annoying thing since you changed to Epoch year back as well).

Anyways, i'll go dig up those e-mails... if you do decide to go back to CCBILL that would be awesome.. I actually made sales with you on CCBILL... and don't think I ever made one sale with you since you changed. Though I still love your content, and appreciate the t-shirt you sent me and would still promote you despite all the biller BS

The following is some info on how to address some of the Epoch stuff, but the bottom line is that there are affiliates like you who used to send regular joins on CCBill who just haven't had a good experience with Epoch. Obviously, for a revshare program, if you are making less money, then SpookyCash is making less money, and nobody wants to be making less money, especially not in this economy.

I think it would only be maybe a month of coding and biller interface to have alternate tours for our main sites which went to CCBill join pages. I am waiting to hear back now from CCBill's Visa specialist on whether I can selectively reactivate old CCBill affiliate accounts or will need to set up a new SpookyCash 2.0 where new links would be needed (only for people who choose CCBill, all existing Epoch links would still work). I want to be sure there are enough affiliates who feel this strongly about using CCBill instead of Epoch, before investing in the alternate options, of course.

If you signed up for the old original CCBill program multiple times (easy to do in the CCBill system), then Epoch imports with multiple accounts. If you let me know which one you are using and which ones you are not using now (and don't have old CCBill links up to) then I can have Epoch deactivate the unneeded ones, so you will just get the emails once each time. Or you can contact Epoch directly.

I put a lot of time and expense into making sure no FHG links needs to be changed with the Epoch migration, no direct links needed to be changed, no special tools links needed to be changed, no links need to be changed means no links need to be changed. I wouldn't have wanted to do that to my affiliates, but it is very discouraging to have folks not even notice.

What bothered me most is that you gave my details to a 3rd party (epoch in this case) without asking for my approval. Does this seem like good practice to you ?

I've noticed this seems to be the case with more affiliates than I ever would have guessed. CCBill had not yet implemented their cascade at the time and it seemed like Epoch would offer affiliates better functionality.

Can I ask why the switch to Epoch made you not want to promote SpookyCash any more?

Wow, really? I guess I think of myself as pretty sensitive to privacy issues, but it honestly didn't occur to me that anyone would think of it that way, partly because CCBill and Epoch are both so established maybe. Although quite a few of the standalone programs with NATS or MPA3 use check writing services and I don't think I'd even notice if they switched blahblahchecks to xandsochex for who sent me money. So I guess this didn't really seem like letting any data out of the family, so to speak, and I'm very very sorry if you felt in any way that it was.

It is looking like I can definitely offer a CCBill alternative if folks don't mind signing up again. All Epoch links would continue to work and continue to be Epoch links.

Best is combo of nats + ccbill,nats/epassporte is imperative if you want more international affiliates.

The issue is it is not possible to reactive just some old CCBill accounts. The program would have to either have all of the old CCBill links stop forwarding to Epoch or keep the current set-up where all the old CCBill accounts' links are credited by Epoch. As Epoch as been the current option since 2007, if people have moved or changed their names, then that info will be current in Epoch and not in CCBill. Plus, I got so many complaints about CCBill, being a CCBill-only program, that I really thought all of SpookyCash's affiliates were going to be completely thrilled to be on the new Epoch cascade. But that has not turned out to be completely the case at all. So I don't want to make another change that affiliates won't have a choice on, based on what I know of some affiliates' preferences. So I think the best option is to give affiliates a choice of how they prefer to promote. Running two concurrent systems will be a bit of a pain, but hopefully it will make all SpookyCash affiliates happy, and not just those who like Epoch or just those who like CCBill.
