Well I know that some of the newer ones are charging $500 for a year for ad placement.

The "bigwigs" out there... maybe they are charging $5000 per year.

So take that into perspective... how many "big wig" tubes are out there and how many "spots" do they offer... maybe 30? so 30 X 5000 is $150000.

So the biggest ones out there... how many companies can you rip off? Did you sell them a spot for 100K per year?? hahaha

nobody makes sales from a tube site and any company saying that they pay for the spot AND turn a profit are lying.

I think most are operating on a loss. But considering large companies like Brazzers and AEBN own them they can afford it. Payoff in the end is traffic.

They are making sales in cams and dating.
They also seem to do pretty well at upselling their own white lable paysite at a recurring fee.
I am also very positive the large tubes charge way more than 5k a year for advertising. Hell the site we are on right now charges about 6-7 times that amount for a full sized banner. (do not bash me if they lowered it a tad)

One of my sponsors is converting 1:98 on one of my tube sites.

They buy ad space on all of the tubes because they make good money on tubes.

They are not lying when they say that they love tubes.

I wouldn't say they are losing money but its not a cash cow for sales as much as it is for traffic. Ive made more off selling traffic than I have sponsor sales but $100 for the tube script, $9 for the domain, $10/mo for hosting, I have already made a profit 2x and thats only 3 weeks running. Went from 3.8M in alexa down to 1.3M and will continue getting better. And I dont have to host any of the content and bandwidth is low.

Ad sales will be next so Im not overly worried.

Word of advice since you're new ... promote the hell out of PPS sponsors with a good trial. Make sure all ads mention that trial. It also doesn't hurt to check in on your sponsor periodically to see how your rebill rate is ... because if they're not making money off you then you're going to revshare. A lot of people will say "know your traffic" and part of knowing your traffic is also knowing that sponsors are making enough off it to be happy. Naturally, if they're an awesome site, revshare works best anyway, but with the recession, pre-paid credit cards, one-time use card numbers, etc., it can really be hit-or-miss.

Here is a ballpark answer:
Legal tube sites that have established traffic (takes 2 -3 months if you know what you are doing) are making sales in the same range as the thumb tgps before those tgps started to decline, which was about 2 years ago. They are also growing quite nicely.
Not talking about the big tubes, or the ones who sell traffic.

Yes, gay traffic is a different game. It's a more lucrative game. Having said that, there isn't a secret handshake required to launch a gay site ... anybody can do it. If they want to be homophobes or lack business sense ... hey, I can't do anything about that, can I?

Tube traffic, when done right, will convert even better then 70% of the sites i see out there. And believe me, ive been doing about every type site ou can imagine.

My experience (oh and see sig) is that i have never been converting better in my LIFE.. even when everyone is complaining. I dont think i would be paying for 400-500mbps if i wouldnt be doing good, continuous, for over 6-7months now, dont you?

And i also dont think i would be selling the same spots on oneclicktube.com for over 7 months to the same people/company every single month either ;)
