Btw Scott someone earlier in the thread mentioned that there is a community based around these signals. That is who you are going after. If you haven't already I'd spend a lot of time in that community and see what they are saying, what they look for and getting their feedback. You have to hit that market just perfect and milk the hell out of them. That is where your opportunity lies. If you look at the marketing that is happening on tube sites it's very aggressive by some very talented marketers. I understand you are trying to launch the site on a showstring budget and that's why I think you really have to fine tune it and cater to the market as well as you possibly can and tapping into that community's wealth of information and desires is going to be the key.

I always look at things as to how they might do today, next year and 2 years from now. The problem with the site is it doesn't look like a site that is launching in 2010. That hurts. This industry has done a lot of damage and burned a lot of innocent surfers. Seeing a site that looks like it's from that time period may bring up those trust issues. I may be wrong. That's just how I see it.

I agree 1000000000000%. You never know what will work. That's why it's always smart to focus and build something you really like because there is always someone else that can identify with you. If you build something you think someone else might like it doesn't always end pretty. I believe a large portion of the money you made in the industry was because you catered to people you understood and people that were similar in mindset to you. And you killed with it.

btw my bad I just read the original post again where you mention you are hoping people will hop on board and promote it and help you launch it. The bad news is this isn't 2005. The affiliate model is dead. If you rely on affiliates to make this a success it's going to be a rough and possibly short ride.

That may be why my first post came across the wrong way. I was looking at this project as a 2010 launch project does it have what it takes to succeed in the market today. I don't know what your $$$ target is either which makes it tough.

i don't believe the affiliate model is dead. many sites relying on it are now dead, but the model is still decent in my mind

i believe it all depends on how you market it.

posting on gfy won't make me much.... just gets me out there is all and I enjoy it

i plan on marketing it in a lot of different ways and seeing if any of them works....

i just watched the videos for the first time, so now i have something else to add, i think what you are offering is not worth the price point...

i dont understand millions of things, heck billions, but there are some i DO understand and i wrote them, ill outline them again amigo:

1. the site is confusing as heck, the average person does not KNOW what it is about.
2. Those videos look very old and dont offer much to be desired
3. You show few signals in a video
4. So why is the surfer joining? if they want porn, your site sucks for it, if they want signals, you offer little to be desired too.

All im saying is you will need more than few vids from 1980 to retain people, i know you think that by showing the "signals" in the crappy videos they will stay, but thats not how it works...

My advice:

- partner up with someone to shoot your own custom videos. I don't see how using obvious porn videos to show someone how a female shows signals to guys is going to fly. It's a porn video, everyone knows its a porn video. The chick and the dude is being paid to the there. None of those situations will happen in real life. The surfer isn't going to learn how to pick up chicks from looking at a porn video. This will be one of your critical flaws. If you can shoot your own videos, in real life situations, that is common for the surfer to be in, like in the mall, bar, grocery store, etc... then you going to have a very hard time with this site. Show the right and wrong way to approach the girl, make the wrong way ones funny, those will have a lot of viral potential especially if you do R rated versions that can go on youtube and X rated versions for the tube sites.

- Make the videos not only show how to "pick up" a chick, but what to do to her sexuallly. Lot of guys don't know what they hell they are doing, I would do some video shoots of a girl explaining to guys, this is what we like, this is what we don't like etc.. you could have a lot of fun with that. Again its more porn, but also funny and entertaining.

- Who is giving the advice on your site? The first thing I would want to know about an advice site is who the person is giving it. If it is going to be you then talk yourself up about how you fucked 1000's of girls and want to share this info with everyone. Play on the fact that you are fat, ugly, etc.. most surfers are and can relate to that, and if they believe that they can get laid following your methods they might pay for it.

- Make your member's area more interractive. Having a chick do Q & A in the member's area would be a big plus. You can't just have a bunch of text and a couple videos there. Seriously, people who signup will never rebill, unless they forget to cancell. Even if you add a video a day or whatever, they will get enough of that right away unless you provide interraction with them.

I'll stop there. If anyone else wants some feed back or consulting let me know. I can analyze your entire site, give you tons of ideas, suggestions etc... work out an affordable price for a couple hours of work.

I agree i need better videos LATER, that will come. budget remember. Where it flies is these signals are real, the girls arn't acting the signals in those videos, they naturally did them knowing they were about to have sex. they were shot for another site of mine. i don't think you need to gave someone give advise - in fact i designed it specifically NOT to have that. it's designed to have people see the yessignals, and recognize SOME of them and then realize they don't know them all and spark interest from there. I HATED watching some asshole tell me shit and being cocky. I'm not one to follow the heard.... hey - if i HAVE to later do that to survive i'll go that way , but REALLY not wanting to go down that road. So that advise I totally disagree with. WHo's right - no idea, just not a road i want to go down. i believe the more you THINK stuff in your head - the better chances you'll eventually sign up. I believe sales are about making people THINK. if you tell them everything you don't sell. If you make them ask questions in their head - you have curiously... you can't achieve that with some jerk telling you everything and it just doesn't feel natural. just my take on it

i agree with interactive but allowing people to post unrestricted is a NO NO as there are always negative idiots out there. I'll be expanding all the time on it. not just videos but all kinds of pick up information. looking at expanding into a lot of things inside as time goes on and expanding with members I hope will increase retension

So, it's not a full blown "how to pick up girls" site. It is specifically on teaching people to look for signals girls give? Other then the signals you are not going to provide any other dating advice ? That is where my thoughts came in if it was an advice site they need to know who is giving it. If it is going to be like an encyclopedia that is different, no need to have a narrator.

You can still "partner" with someone on a budget. My personal opinion is that you need real life situations where girls give the signals for it to have a chance. IMO, that is almost as important as having credit card approval. Surely, you know someone who shoots porn and can partner with you. Even though the girls in the porn videos are really touching their hair, you can't get past the fact its a porn video, and I believe the surfer is going to spot that right away and think it is not realistic, not a situation they would ever be in. I get what you saying, but I don't think the surfer will.

Last bit of advice, something I tell everyone lauching something new. Never try to get affiiliates until your site is up and running for at least 3-6 months and you have tested it completly with your own traffic. Usually you have a one shot deal with most people. If your site has broken links, not setup for visa yet, a non optimized signup page, etc... your conversions wont be good, and niether will your affiliates. They will stop promoting and likely never give you a second chance. I see you say "its a work in progess" "you are still testing, lot of stuff to do"... great, but do it with your own traffic. Most affiliates will not appreciate their traffic being the guinea pig. Square it all away, tweak your pages, work it with your own traffic for 3-6 months till you know what works best, then go after your affiliates. You have a much better chance of keeping them that way and not pissing them off.
