CCBill $1000 chargeback on a $25 membership... anyone else?

So, I noticed I had a chargeback a few weeks ago... December 12 to be exact. My memberships sell for $24.88 each. The problem is, the chargeback was for $993.54. Immediately I think this guy's charged back the last few years of memberships. Wrong. He only signed up for one month.

So... I contact CCBill. They say they will fix it. My next check is $1000 less than it should be, so I call them again. They say they are looking into it still. Got another check this week... still missing that extra $1000. Call CCBill again, and they tell me this is a known problem with several accounts. Other than that, they say they can't help me and they upgraded it to the next level of support.

So... my question is, has anyone else had any mysterious $1000 chargebacks? And, can someone from CCBill other than a phone jockey kindly tell me what's going on and if I can expect to be reimbursed?

Why can't they fix it after several weeks? Is that typical of CCBill?

Yes, he will be handing out paychecks. Wages for sin.

Not at all. We've been with them for over 10 years now, and this is the first problem we've had. And, I waited nearly 3 weeks now with no answer, so I figured I'd see if anyone else is having this problem, since that's what I was told.

Are there other accounts affected with a similar issue? If so will those automatically be fixed or would they need to contact CCBill individually?

Someone else posted about a problem with their checks yesterday - the check value didn't match the sales value or something like that. Was related to a specific CCBill sponsor though and I don't think chargebacks were mentioned.

Taking an issue like this to GFY about CCBill is not something I would have done. Corvette and the gang are always available by phone and online. If you had bad service from one of their tech support peeps you should have called your sales rep instead and he would have been all over it for you. CCBill is the tits.

Nobody cares what you would have done. The OP had $1k less at christmas than he should have done.

He went through the correct channels, waited more than 2 weeks and nobody was able to help him so he came to the boards and suddenly the issue received the attention it deserved and a solution was promised in a short time span.

Nobody is knocking ccbill, but sometimes things fall through cracks, as this clearly did, and bringing it here was the quickest way to get it dealt with.

It sounds like the Regional Price feature went screwy, I'm sure it will get cleared up.

With any processor, when it comes to your money; you email everyone, accounting, billing, support, account rep and any direct people you have. All in mass emails until you get your check or an answer.

for as much as I like (and trust) CCBill, I think he did the right thing bringing this to the board. Everybody that uses CCBill has the right to know what's going on, so that they can check their own accounts and make sure things are OK for them.

Good to you for bringing this to the board. Now it will be fixed by noon.

CCbill, you're the only real trusted company left. Why do you want to ruin that? This guy has been with you for 10 years and you are giving him the run around? That is a shame.

You trusted ibill??? When I started my first paysite, if ibill would gave me 1% transaction fees, I still wouldn't use them, they looked shady to me from the first time I saw their site.

Please signup to my program and send me 10 sales worth $1,500. I won't pay you for them, I promise. When you ask me for 4 weeks where your money is I will ignore you as you seem fine with never being paid. Then I expect you will not come to the boards, so you have no recourse.

Thanks.

I started with Ibill in the late 90s and was with them for many years. They were very good to me for a very long time. That is why when they started faltering, I was dumb enough to believe their promises. If I would have bailed at the first sign of trouble, it would saved me over 20k. CCbill is probably just fine. This is probably an isolated issue that will be resolved soon. However, let's not forget that many web masters had a very positive relationship with Ibill for many years. Although I really like CCbill a lot, they should address this issue. The orginal poster did try to work this out privately and gave CCbill a generous amount of time to resolve the issue.

This was an issue that certainly should have been given more more attention and priority when it was first brought to us, for this we do apologize. This was indeed an isolated issue and it will be corrected very soon, we are also definitely making sure that this does not happen again.

I have been in contact with Adam and as always I invite anyone to drop me a line if they have any problems or need anything.

CCBill has been in touch with me, and it looks like things are on the way to getting fixed. I am NOT here to bash CCBill, as they are the ONLY trusted 3rd party processor, in my opinion. My guess is their lower level techs just didn't pass the info along as I was told would happen (that's just a guess), even after a few phone calls.

As for contacting higher-ups in CCBill, I was told by the phone reps that they were already on it, level 2 support, or something like that. But, after a couple of weeks and no progress I decided to come here to see if anyone else was experiencing the same problems. I've never had any direct contact with Corvette or Paul, so I'm not sure what their titles are, and I don't even know who my sales rep is, because I haven't had to talk to him since we signed up in September 1999.

I'm sure this will be fixed soon, though. Will keep everyone up to date.

Respectfully disagree Mark. The CCBill rep mentioned it's a known issue that affects more than just his account. We don't all religuously look through our CCBill stats as a matter of course, depending on your business model, and so this is a good heads up. I know I don't want to mysteriously lose $1000, and without him mentioning it, I might not notice.

If your bank had an issue where people were mysteriously losing thousands of dollars from their account, wouldn't you want to know about it? Or is protecting the bank's reputation more important?

Corvette, do I have to manually look for $500+ chargebacks or is CCBill going to pro-actively run some reports, find all these discrepancies and deal with them on a case by case basis? Paul mentioned it was isolated, but the other rep said it was a known issue. Which is it?

I also love CCBill, they're clearly one of the best companies in the adult business.

We have proactively ran the reports and are working with the clients that this affected.

Corvette and I were the only ones addressing this so I believe that was most likely a separate issue.

/facepalm/ PLEASE don't ever compare CCbill to Ibill. Thats like comparing the Yankees to a T-ball league for severly disabled amputees.
I don't want to get off topic here. It looks as if CCbill is taking care of the issue. They are my credit card processor and I am very happy with them. However, in the early years of Ibill, they were great too. They were as reliable as the sun coming up every morning. Their customer service was stellar. My experience was positive enough with them that when they began to falter, I was stupidly trusting. This was my fault as I did not keep myself informed about the ownership changing hands. Bottom line, it doesn't matter if Jesus himself is your cc merchant, be on your toes. Again, no disrespect to CCbill. This appears to be a fluke that was resolved.

I sorta have been having similiar issues, but not related to chargebacks.

Lately my ccbill checks are being cut for a lot less than I actually made. I've referred a few people to affiliate programs, so with the 5% affiliate referral I usually made enough money to cover my ccbill fees + even make some month off them...

This past month my ccbill checks are $100 less each week than I actually made. I emailed ccbill about it and they just said that some affilaites program dont split fees. I can go under tools and see which sponsors dont split.

I haven't really started pushing any new programs lately, and the last few weeks it actually looks like some of the affiliates i referred are making more coin than usual, so theres no reason they should be deducting so much. I want to figure out which sponsor im pushing is causing this, so I can stop promoting them.

2 years ago they took around $750 from my account (requested by the program owner) and pretty much told me I couldn't do anything about it, so good luck!

Uh? I'm not a program owner, my reply clearly states that it was requested BY the program owner. They simply made 2 checks disappear into thin air and told me to forget about the money.

Just got word that it's been taken care of. Thank you, Paul, for the quick resolution.
