So I have been hitting the casino a bit more since it is down time for sales, and scheduling models from Nov-early Jan. It's been nice to get out and away from the computer for stints, as well as socializing with the general public.

First, let me say glad it's not you. I thought you were terminally ill by the thread title.

I think it depends on what type of person you are. Will being with her til the end be tough on you? Do you handle death well? If you don't I'd stay away. If you do then I guess go for it.

I have been surrounded by death all my life. So I have mixed feelings on it.

It's not that surprising to me. Most people when confronted by death either try to avoid the person at all costs or they patronise the person to the extreme, effectively treating the person like a baby.

What I choose to do is to treat the person the way I would like to be treated, as normal as possible through the end.

You can only do what you can handle. If you think you're strong enough to do that for her I think that would be a very noble thing for you to do.

I watched someone die of cancer, my stepfather went from wearing a XL shirt to a med when he died. It was tough to take, but I was there everyday making sure that my folks had anything they needed. I lived near them at the time.
The weird thing I noticed was how everyone changed around him during his sickness and decline. I think if you do this, clear the air with her and see exactly what she expects, then make up your mind if you can live with it
