Yup, prescription rates for prozac and zoloft have dropped way down in Canada today.

I am glad, cause I really didn't want the attendance to be low at Phoenix forum this year. Nor did I want to have to listen to all the excuses from those that had the balls to still show up.

Truth be told. That was a great fucking GAME!

ha! I would say the US gave us a good run for our money. After taking us out after the first, we squeaked out beating them on this final match up.

Although I'm a proud Canadian, I still think the US is a close #2.

BAH!

I could have taken that alot better (and yes, it was a terrific game) if the US women's team had beaten the Canadian women. That was also a SUPERB game and for those who think women's hockey is pussy...well...let me just tell you there was some face shoving, board checking hard ass drama. I thought the ladies could have been a little better in their celebrating though, a little tacky for my taste. Save the cigars and drinks for off-ice time.

Great hockey all round tho

This was a fantastic game and Canada deserved the gold

And DH you have every right to celebrate.. but if USA had won and someone from the USA said the above, wouldn't we be called " Ugly Americans" , Gloating Americans etc etc?

Look forward to the next one and once again Congrats Team Canada!

All these Canadian hockey victory threads and status updates are intriguing. I've seen some pretty mean-spirited ones. Sure America wanted to win, but losing isn't crushing the country either. Had the US won Canada would be in mourning. It's just Monday here.

America loves a good party. That's why when Olympic hockey and the World Cup come around we participate and enjoy, but when it's done so is the fervor over it.

It's back to the NBA season here. Spring training is underway and the NFL draft is in 6 weeks. Those are our sports. Football rules and there is no close 2nd. Hockey isn't even 4th here, NASCAR is bigger (not really sure what that says about our country or your game).

So my dear Canadian friends...we're truly very happy for you. Great game, great Olympics; congrats all the way around. But really, what's with the attitude?

So please tell me what you think this board would have been like today if America won that hockey or if they came first in the Medal Standing?

You Americans would hardly be humble would you now, we would have seen this board on fire as to how you live in the greatest country in the WORLD, the best athletes BLAH BLAH FUCKING BLAH, how you are the best at everything....

Like I wrote in my post, I'm merely intrigued by it all. I'm all about celebrating a victory and Canada absolutely deserves to boast a bit about winning. And a good-natured poke or two is warranted as well. We were all teasing each other quite a bit before the game and after the last one.

I'm not calling DH out or anything, I know him and know he's doing it all in good fun. I just happened to ask the question in his thread. I've seen some mean-spirited posts and FB updates since the game ended. I'm curious about it is all. I find poor winners more interesting than poor losers. I understand why someone gets shitty when they lose.

I've always been under the impression that Canada has a more polite demeanor than the US. I would've sooner expected this behavior from Americans to be honest, and I would have called them out on it had I seen it.

So can you answer it? Celebrating, boasting, even gloating a bit (although it's rather unattractive) I get, but what's with the "Fuck You" attitude?

I'm confused about this topic. Canada was the favorite the entire time, while nobody thought the US would even reach the medal round. We were 1 goal away from victory in sudden death against the best team on the planet. I'm pretty sure the US team can hang their heads high because they played their hearts out.

I agree. America really played well. I mean Miller was amazing, Rafalski and Parise were just stellar.

I guess in the end all we are saying is

I think basically anytime you get a collection of people your always going to have a few assholes that take things too far, even to the point where they almost ruin it... ie riots after winning big games in some sports.

I really like the leafs and if they ever win i'm going to celebrate like no other, but at no point will i feel the need to flip over a car or start smashing store windows!--or write any 'fuck you quotes' on my facebook status either. ;)

This sums it up in a nut shell. I'm American and I live in Vancouver. I was rooting for the US, but it's not like they beat the shit out of us *cough* Russia 7-3 *cough*. They won by 1 goal in sudden death OT. No big deal.

I tower over my two older brothers and outweigh them by 20-30 lbs each, so I don't mind at all being called "little brother". :D

Hockey is a man's sport, so I can understand why you were watching the Lakers game.

Hockey is played on ICE SKATES and ice skating is probably the biggest homo sport ever. You fail. You want a REAL man sport? Watch some football or rugby.

wasn't it just a gigantic NHL all star game anyhow? seems a lot of the players on both teams were NHL guys. made for a great game. bunch of the players on the canadian team are on us cities NHL teams. either way bomb ass game. i was on my feet for the last 5 minutes of the 3rd period when they tied it at 2 each with .24 sec left.
