People do not realize how big mailers are

Brand0n is surprised Nickatlynx is as big as he is but didn't bdjuf (sp?) get into mailing and kick out $10k a day or some such shit for a while there. TGP's are cool and the hun is a fantastic consistent set up. But the number of TGP's that can turn out 100 signups a day for a single program is not that big.

We see less threads of "I can do 100 signups/day for your program and i want to be paid up front" but the people are still out there doing it.

I'm still waiting for somebody to give me a crash course in mailing. None of the big players are willing though, and I salute them for it. Fuckers.

Whilst you are in essence correct, the larger problem is that so many webmasters beleive the ONLY sources of traffic are tgps, link lists and SE's by the time they realize how wrong they were, its already to late for them.

You realize the other ones are illegal right? Where as mailing is not. Small distinctions are important.

Mailing is definitely not what it used to be, with CAN SPAM and the FTC out poking around, on top of Hotmail and Earthlink and the rest of the ISPs suing people left and right.

But back in the day, mailing was the single biggest way to generate joins, from a conversion and a dollars standpoint.

Doing 10k a day in joins isn't that much really, especially not at 35 bucks a join...

LOL
so all those lawsuits m$ are serving up, and the people aol is throwing in jail are all false cases with no leg to stand on.

im sure that mailing is 100% legal. just ask any of those guys doing time for it.

the guy in NC who JUST got handed 9 years, go ask him about the legalitys of mailing. im sure he would love to talk to you about them. only thing is, visiting hours are only 10-2 on saterday and sunday.

If you live in the US it is illegal. And it has risks outside the US. But where Nick lives it is legal last time I looked.

mail traffic has def been the most profitable for sure! It's just too bad that many have "disappeared." Many have gone on the dl and are not making the same $$ that they were back in the day.

true, and also tricky if you are USA based.

you've got to follow the law specifically or risk going to jail.

IMO UCE for porn ain't cool from an integrity aspect, too many minors have email addresses nowadays, but for mainstream items it can work.

you need offshore servers and the ability to change IP's rapidly internally without using proxies.

it can be done, but is not a project for newbies without cash.

Then again, 95% of the mailers do a few 100 bucks a day.

Its no different than any other traffic source. Most submitters do a few sales and 5% makes tons.

Same with paysites, freesites, you name it. Only advantage mailing has its easy as fuck and 10 mins work a day for those few 100 bucks.

If I send out my newsletter I do more sign up than when I had gallery spots at Marks Bookmarks, Call Kelly and The Hun. The newsletter costs fuck all to mail out. GTS charge. I would still buy in spots with GTS though.

even mailers aren't what they used to be
there used to be a lot of mailers that could drop 400-500 joins per day on you, now those same people are barely able to send 100 and others even less...
there is also a disctintion between UCE and opt-in mailers (whether they be single or double opt-in)
