Seven Republican senators have announced a plan to curb the Obama administration's push to impose controversial Net neutrality regulations on the Internet.

The government passed a stimulus package to help create jobs; without it the recession would've been much, much worse--perhaps a depression rather than a bad recession. And the stimulus package that was passed was watered down by idiots who claimed that tax cuts would stimulate the economy more than spending money would.

I studied economics, and I'm always--really, always--amazed by people who don't have the first clue about how the economy works, spouting off about how the government should influence the economy.

Obama's advisers studied economics as well. They also made very broad claims about how this and that would be completely different by now. Except that didn't really happen.

Point being... nobody cares that you studied economics. Thousands and thousands of people study economics. Thousands and thousands of people still get it wrong. Studying economics means you know more than than the average Joe, sure, it definitely doesn't mean you aren't wrong.

But I have read in depth about the net law they want, they just want more regulations on high usage or so they say. Did you ever think how Youtube or Facebook has impacted our lives, do you think that they would have happened if net neutrality was in place? More regulation on the net is a bad thing, it will not help us, we have to adapt to the change in the net, not the other way around.
THeir are pros and cons to everything, I don't like this and I don't think what they propose is completely thought out as the internet is ever changing, how do you control what the free wifi hotspot give out in bandwidth?

A complete takeover by the government or even other telecommunication giants can lead to violation of net neutrality and will dampen effectiveness of this medium. It will be against net neutrality principle and will allow certain websites to limit their content to paid customers. Internet regulation will also tend to curb the freedom of expression, which is perhaps one of the most conspicuous factors that are instrumental in the success and popularity of this medium. they passed bank reform, but left out fannie and freddie
they passed the stimulus telling us that if they don't unemployment will go to 9 or 10%, but if we pass it will go to only 8%
