Fighting against people who actually infringed on the content I can completely agree with, we send thousands of DMCA notices each and every week for our content. But fighting against the people that do not know better and download them, and actually get acquainted to your content and actually INCREASE your sales, that's just fucked up...

As many have said, start working on selling something that is worth buying instead of trying to make more money by suing people, this will end badly.. in 1 or 2 years we will have a nightmare on our hands...

I oppose suing any IP that hits a keyword "lightspeed" on a torrent tracker or P2P network. If you make it very clear that only OBVIOUS things like site_rip or whatever are tracked, more power to you.

I also have no problem with suing porn board downloaders like pornbb.org simply because its blatantly obvious there too.

Suing _any_ downloader is what I have a problem with..

Easier for them to just pay t he $500 and the site collects income and sends a message. Its no different then acacia going around trying to scare people into buying the license for their patent. Except the people suing in this case are in the right.

If they targeted users of a couple tube sites, then eventually those sites would be forced to verify user submitted content or do away with it. If people were scared to upload to a particular site because their info would be turned over and they would be sued... they would stop using that tube site.

You have very little support from public. People who you will be suing however will potentially have large support from public from the "Evil" porn producers.

Result: Lawyers and court makes bank off clueless porn producers trying to keep their failing business due to crappy content and lack of understand of free market mechanisms. Angry individuals sued file counter suit, and takes rest of Steve's sick and unethical money from porn business. Bankruptcy and gay orgy ensues. Referring to down loaders who go through the steps of downloading a bittorrent client, going to a bittorrent site, downloading an entire movie, and playing it on their computer as "innocent" is simply not credible, IMHO. Maybe a jury would disagree. To paraphrase, John Madden, that's why we go to trial.

3. 99.3% of all bittorrent date shared is illegal according to one study.

4. We work on contingency, which means that we have NEVER received a dime from Steve Lightspeed nor any of our clients. Not sure how I could "take their money".

5. Federal Court is a bit different than a church. I would submit that federal judges do not have a separate set of constitutional rights for Plaintiffs depending on a judge's moral beliefs. Too many bad movies out there created this misconception.
