Just came back and saw your thread. Count me in shap.

Got a few G's stuck in VV although transfers from my wallet to CC on file work fine so far.

What do I have to do to help out?

Hi guys. Nothing new to report. It looks like they aren't responding to anything until the 30th. I'll keep you posted. They seem to be very keen on taking over and running the Virtual Visa business. The question is do they have the $$$$ to fund the run. The total from this thread alone is over 3million now (including people that have contacted me privately).

I suppose there won't be any run. They'll set daily limits of $300 and increase the withdrawal fee to some $5 per transaction.

I bet 2$ that the money on the VV is safe and will be recovered.
This is a fucking big bank, its first aim is financing this fucking island.
ePass is not material for this bank.
All is ok. The money is not in motion...
The bank is ok. The last financial ratio of this bank lead me to think that its probability of ruin should be above 10% over a one year period (ie a 90% VaR). It's not very good, but it's not too bad.

What's wrong with this picture?

Even if the Bank can assist in helping people get their funds (someday), I would think that your lawyers might still possibly be able to go after ePassporte/SKNB in court for malfeasance/misfeasance/nonfeasance.

This whole affair is a travesty. Whomever perpetrated this fiasco, ePassporte or SKNB, should ultimately be held accountable (if not both).

If it were my money involved, I would yank it out ASAP, and have nothing to do with either company from hereon, since both seem to be most concerned with keeping their hands on the customers money, rather than dealing straightforward and honestly with the people whose money they were charged with managing properly so that there would be no major disruption in service in the first place (this nonsense has been going on for nearly a month now with no clear explanation that I know of from ePassporte or SKNB as to what occurred, and when/how all those affected can withdraw their VV money).

I sincerely hope everyone gets back their money eventually.

so the bank just "took it over".

no fight from Chris, no opposition from Chris, no press release etc.. nothing. He just stepped a side a let them take it over. And the bank just decided one day, hey lets take over epass's VV accounts...

Seems like epass had to have been doing something wrong big time that they wont even fight it. Also I doubt Visa would let the bank kick epass out like that for "no reason".

If that bank 'take over' the VV service... they better have a VERY NICE explanation since nobody will ever trust them anymore.

Why would I use a bank that unplugged Epassporte without any notice to take over their business?!

I seriously doubt that there was no notice. I believe epass is flat out lieing about the 'no notice' and 'no explaination' part of thier story. That being said, I would trust a system run by a national bank alot more then I would trust a system run by epass.

Is nobody wondering about the bank's message? they say that VISA was only shut down in LATE September! So why were we not able to access the virtual accounts then?

Also, it seems the bank wants to keep us waiting. It looked promising at first, but it could take weeks or months until they give us a real update.
I think it's time for some action!

SKNANB had visa turn off the cards in very early September.

On Sept 23rd, SKNANB shut off epassporte's access to the virtual visa info, meaning epass could no longer see the account info, balance, etc.

2 different shut offs

Shap, I think we're getting to the moment where the lawyers have to contact the bank! They said we'll get update how to get our money today, but instead we got nothing but added phone number!!

Please mention that to your lawyers and I'll proceed contacting mine. Enough is enough.

I'm in ! i got 5 figures and dammit i am gonna fight for it

P.S. I wasnt able to find qualified lawyers on this issue by myself, otherwise i would help out with that as well , i do however have emails, phone logs that can be used if needed . actually i will post something right here :Got this on sept 13th !

Thank you for your e-mail. I apologize for this situation. We are working with our Bank and with Visa to release funds to our cardholders who have funds on the Virtual and Electron Cards. Thank you for your continued patience.

Your funds are currently safe with our Bank. We are negotiating with Visa to re-establish our cards so that our customers can withdraw funds. Those negotiations are still ongoing. We are also working on alternate solutions with the Bank so that your funds will be release to you by other means.

I understand your concern. Your account information is already accessible by our Bank because of our legal and contractual obligations to them as our Issuing Bank. You do not need to retain a lawyer to release the information. The Bank is very concerned about our customers receiving their funds, and by banking regulations and laws they MUST release the funds that belong to you. As to when this will occur, I do not know yet. ePassporte will strive to make communications regarding this situation clear to its account holders. Please keep checking your ePassporte Message Center for updates. We will let you know more information as soon as we know more.

I hope I have answered your questions. If you have any follow-up questions, please let me know.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Best Regards,

Annie C. Lin
Corporate Counsel
ePassporte, N.V.

candyx, what email address you got this email from? Seems like a lot changed since.

And some contacts with epass I have don't respond to my direct question about their partnership with SKNANB. I asked whether they ended their partnership whatsoever... no answers.

I suggest that we organize a joint venture and fight for our money until last penny!! Motherfuckers!!

Hmm... maybe ePassporte wasn't keeping track of docs well enough to conform to banking regulations so St. Kitts told VISA to shut everything off until that happens. Perhaps they are still talking and perhaps this is all just speculation.

Yeah, and apparently those without physical cards will be able to get a check or wire with proper documentation, fingers crossed.

So what's the news Shap? We are supposed to get our VV money tomorrow, but what about people worried about their wallet money? You asked us how much we had in our accounts. Do you have any update?

I'm waiting for the re-activation on the VV side. Based on this thread I believe the VV side was the bigger side of the business and the one St Kitts wanted to acquire. They appear to have every intention of running it.

This entire situation is a mess however regarding the wallet Epassporte has always lived up to their word and paid out what was in the wallet to myself and people I know. This effort was regarding St Kitts bank. I know this won't be popular but I can't head up a group to go after a company that lived up to their word and paid me all my money.
