make it easy in the crock pot.

3lbs meat
2 brown gravy mix packets
1 Italian dressing packet
1/2 ranch dressing packet

mix powder with 1 cup water and pour over meet in crock pot. it doesn't seem like a lot of liquid, but its more than enough.

Add red potatoes, onions, celery and carrots for even more flavor.

Cook on low for 8-9hrs or on high for 4-5. You will love it

If you want perfect roast beefs use an oven safe meat thermometer. Fuck that guessing time/weight Neanderthal noise.

make some pies.

2lb beef
1lb baby onions, scalded then peeled, leave whole
1/2lb mushrooms
1 pint of stout or redwine
1 pint of beefstock
fresh herbs try to keep whole them just remove at the end.
so stick of thyme,bay, rosemary.

flour then brown off the beef, remove from pan and pour off the fat.
brown the onions just a bit, then add the beef and everything else back into the pan. cook on low heat for about 2 hours, or until the meat falls apart.

leave to cool, best overnight in the fridge.
next day, make your pies.

Make a beef soup.

Cut the beef into slices 1/4 inch thick. Flash fry to brown all sides. Slice onions thin and smashed chopped garlic and add to mix to soften. Do this in the pot you will cook it in to get all the flavour and juices from the meat and frying.

Then pour in beef stock.

After this it depends what your tastes are.

I would add tomatoes and Italian herbs like basil, parsley, rosemary and sage. AND red wine. Italian of course.

Or Celery, potato and leek. For a more English flavored dish.

Or Red peppers for something different.

Or cook it in beer. Be careful on this one it's tricky.

Make as much as the meat allows. Add the ingredients to get the taste to your liking. Remember as you cook the flavour develops.

Easy stew recipe.

Get flour on a plate. Season it with S&P. Coat the pieces of beef in the seasoned flour and brown in a pan quickly. Set aside beef, keep juices in pan. Add 6 or 7 shallots, some carrots, chopped into 2" bits, and streaky bacon chopped small. Fry for 5 minutes. Stick in pot. Add beef to pot. In saucepan, heat up half a pint of a robust red wine and half a pint of good beef stock. Season. Add zest of an orange (yes, an orange) and a couple of bay leafs. When liquid is on a gentle rolling boil, add to pan with meat and veg. Put lid on. Put in over at 150 for 3 hours. Stir after each hour.

Serve with mashed potato and steamed green beans.

And the rest of the wine.
