Is there some reason you feel compelled to do this on every domain thread. Feeling a little inadequate perhaps. If your domains are so goddam fantastic why don't you post a few you own and let us judge.....

At least the domains are worth $2.... your opinion...$0

Funny I was reading an article recently about people who behave in a negative way on chat boards. Literally low self esteem, immaturity and lack of personal success in life and business are the driving factors. It's how they express frustration and their lack of personal power.

But then I'm not here to be his psychiatrist, badly as it may be needed!

Some decent domain names. You might do a bit better if you listed prices or something like low xxx or mid xxx or low x,xxx ETC.

I thought about doing that but given the general reception here to domain prices, well.....

Thing is I've hit retirement age and have held these domains along with thousands of others for a long time now. I really don't want to launch into the adult industry and develop some of them and if I'll still be here 30 years from now selling domains with the number in our portfolio.

SOOOO prices are excellent (better than some would think, ahem) and I'm looking to make deals. If the price is higher for a great domain there is interest free financing or leasing with no payout penalty, 90 day grace and financing up to 5 years or leasing 3-20 years with a reasonable down.

As I mentioned I'm EAssssssY!

Hmm not entirely sure what you're trying to say here but if you're implying quality domains are "ancient technology" you are seriously out of touch. Or perhaps we should call the ADULT company that bought Porno.com for 8.8 mill last month idiots!

In 17 years I've watched the domain market explode from nothing to a multi-billion dollar industry. And it's still growing despite Icanns attempts to fuck it up! In the face of all the new extensions last year our .com sales exploded and gave us the best year EVER. At higher prices than we were getting before!

And in a conversion challenged world you'd think the fact that prime keyword domains command 25% increased click thru's, memorability (they remember where to come back) and higher conversion rates (Bing research BTW) would send some of you reaching into your pocketbooks instead of registering my-dog-ate-a-purple-bone.cc and wasting time building sites.

Consumers also believe that those companies that own the primary keyword domains are older and therefore assign them a higher TRUST factor in their minds!

Honestly why wouldn't you take advantage of every opportunity to increase your sales and conversions?

I've dealt with a lot of the adult webmasters and companies over the years and I know a lot of members here run quality acts but there are some who are scrabbling in the mud and don't do the research and spend the $$$ to get above that.

And just in case someo of you think I'm blowing smoke here is our company profile:

"Our company DropWizard Domains Inc was one of the original dropcatchers of expired domains for a worldwide clientel back in the early 2000's. We were dealing with over 50,000 orders per month around 6-7 million a year. Today DropWizard is focused on developing our own large domain portfolio."

None of these are developed so it is the worth of the domain.

Sorry I did not make myself clear... I am not criticising your approach, what I believe is CONTENT, not a domain name... Indeed, if you get a good domain, folks will click on it but if there is NO content they go away and NEVER come back... That was my main point, beside trying to be funny

I also see all over the place people selling domains or parking on them in hope to make a big bucks, so good luck, but maybe you should try Wall Street not us poor souls here

Also will make a specific point

Barelylegalteens probably worth a good money but barelyNUDElegalteens likely not inless the search engines pick them both equally...

Ditto on porn.com vs porno.com ( unless it is searched in the Balkans )

I'm sorry to say this gmartfin but 3xmedia understand at each thread to valuate domains. I have noticed that at the good ones, he will never interfere.

2 bucks may be his personal form of expression, the idea behind is another one: in any way, ponostar or something else from that list doesn't worth 200k.

And let me make you a fast demonstration why, because numbers never lie:

typo, low volume of searches

this is how a real premium domain looks like

Do you see that one letter in minus makes a difference between 1300 and 246000 monthly searches?

This is how it makes a difference in money also.

In the domains world even 1 fucking letter in plus/minus make a difference between hundreds of thousands/millions and 100 USD

Well gosh thanks for the lecture. I guess I missed all that in the last 17 years of buying and selling thousands of domains through our company DropWizard. You know one of the original drop companies catching expired domains for a worldwide clientele.

The thread title was tongue in cheek because pornostar.com was being advertised on another thread for 200k. I was pointing out someone could buy the typo for CONSIDERABLY LESS.

Got it now?

Well you need to do a little research and get yourself up to date. Bing (you know the search engine) has research that will tell you people trust prime keyword domains more, are 25% more likely to click on them than anything else REGARDLESS of CONTENT. Plus a whole lot of additional goodness. So here it is:

Great keyword domain and no content = won't come back
Lousy made-up domain and good content= might come back (but only if they bookmark they'll never remember the domain)
Lousy domain and lousy content= why bother?
Great keyword domain and great content= winner! And yes they will be far more likely to remember the domain because that's the term they searched.

If I google "nude girls" and end up at nudegirls.com do you think I won't remember that???

I understand a lot of webmaster have to start somewhere and spending a lot on a domain isn't always possible but people aren't paying 13 million for sex.com and 8 mill for Porno.com to lose money and because they're stupid. They understand the domain market and the role it plays in making businesses successful.

Apparently the concept of typo domains has escaped you. No one is talking about 4 letter domains.

And yes Giggle.com would be considered a fairly premium domain! It's not a typo

Perhaps you should go back and read the thread AGAIN. It seems to have gone right over your head.

"Apparently the concept of typo domains has escaped you"

according to the above screenshots (which you confirm you have seen & read) - it is not a typo domain.

if that were right, then df46jbd3vd3.com would be a typo domain for when people search for "df46jbd3vd3"

which is how often ?

compare the numbers on the 2 above screenshots - then try and convince me that it is a "TYPO DOMAIN"

"Perhaps you should go back and read the thread AGAIN. It seems to have gone right over your head."

no, not really.
ponostar.com is not the same as pornostar.com

show me previous sales of domains that contain the word "ponostar" or "pono"

that have sold for premium prices.

maybe im wrong and the dictionary needs amending, and education will be considered completely pointless in the future because spelling will just be a complete waste of time because from now on you can just spell words however you want.

I see why your moniker is "so fucking blind".

Typo domains represent surfers who are typing a domain DIRECTLY into their browser navigation bar and make a mistake. Typical mistakes are where the word switches from the left hand to the right or vice versa on the keyboard. So when they go to switch from the right "o" to the left "r" in this case they miss the "r" and type pono instead of porno. Also common mispellings of words.

It has nothing to do with searching for them on a search engine, it's a form of direct navigation or type-in domains. Your search displays are meaningless because they aren't generally even searching for them although as you can see they make the same spelling mistake searching in the search engines.

Within the domain industry they act like BONDS. People type the domain into the browser looking for something like pornostar and get ponostar and click on the ads there. Money is made by the domain owner.

So you see domains such as ponstar or ponostar or voyurs etc.

Some typo examples we have owned and sold in the past.

unniversity.com instead of university. Sold for xxx under a N.D.A (non disclosure agreement)
Laywers.com instead of lawyers sold for 30k us (used to make 6-700 pm in ppc)
Vaigra.com instead of Viagra sold for x,xxx under a NDA. Used to make 2-400 pm in ppc

They are not intended for development but using the traffic on them to make $$$$.

Nobody is comparing ponostar to pornstar or pornostar it was tongue in cheek. You know a joke, an attention getter, advertising. Attracting interest (hopefully intelligent)(fail) to the thread and ALL the rest of the domains listed there.
