I like the sound of this option. Give more of a hint, I might need to use this myself on someone who owes me.

The big winner in this entire thread is BVF, through no intention of his own.

I wonder if he's had a spike in affiliate signups the last week? Heck, even I looked at signing up to promote those skanky bitches.

20? An affiliate can out-bid a program on branded Keywords? How's that work financially?

You want to know what's fucked up?!?

So, in between checking to see if Dirty D paid Shoehorn, I'm watching the Saints vs Redskins football game. Washington is up by 7, with only about a minute and a half left, and has a first down inside the New Orleans 10. The drive stalls and they have to settle for a chip shot field goal to go up by 10.

The kicker fucking missed it...

On the ensuing kick-off, Drew Brees guides his team down the field, capping off a last minute drive with no time outs, by throwing a 53-yard TD to tie the game and force overtime.

What happens next? Fucking Fox cuts away to the 49ers - Seahawks game.

I know NFL rules and all, but why not at least provide picture-in-picture for christsakes!?!

Also, I would rather watch Dallas vs NY Giants, than two teams whose season is all but finished.

Arrgh! I'm buying NFL ticket next year...

New Orleans WINS the game with a Field Goal in overtime, keeping them unbeaten (along with the Colts). :drinkup

Because there was little or no competition for the keyword(s), meaning that the affiliate (me) was the only one bidding on it.

Although in this case it hasn't yet worked out financially, because the program (HowIGotRich) owes me money for legitimate sales and refuses to pay me, even after 20 pages of people telling him that he should.

Deej 12-06-2009 03:25 PM

Just answer this question DirtyD...

When you discovered he was sending sales you didnt approve of, why did you not inform him then that you do not accept this form of traffic? Why didnt you tell him then to stop his campaign? Why did you keep accepting his sales even though you knew you werent going to pay him?

In your eyes, is that just business or is that scammy?

Answer unbiased and honestly...

Just so everyone knows, NATS automatically generates the payout every 2 weeks, and adds any affiliate that meets their minimum payout to that batch. In order to remove someone from the batch, you have to go to the Payments Admin, find the batch and edit the affiliates payout sale by sale. So if the affiliate is owed for 10 sales, you have to individually remove each and every sale from the batch in order for them to not get paid.

Just goes to show you how much effort he put into ripping off an affiliate. :2 cents:

What a fucking scam.

You'd think that by this point that he would have AT LEAST modified his ToS to avoid any future issues. But no. It almost seems as though he has no intention of updating his ToS in hopes that he can continue to pluck sales from legit affiliates should there be a repeat in the future.

What a fucking faggot...

Doesn't surprise me one bit that the ToS are still the same - changing them would be like admitting he has done t he wrong thing in his eyes I bet.

On another note - how much competition has this thread developed for your crack whore keywords Shoehorn?

Not sure, haven't checked the competition since switching the campaign over, the ads are still waiting on approval.

But I welcome anyone to throw their hat into the ring and start bidding on those terms with me if they plan to send the traffic to BVF. :thumbsup

Yep it would force him to admit he was wrong, and then force his hand into proving he is fucking broke and can't pay.

I've had some interesting ICQ conversations with some knowledgeable people that disagree.

Whether that is the case or not, I have offered to work out a payment plan with him.

I hope everyone takes notice of how you run your program and how you think. You read what happened here and you feel shoehorn (the affiliate) committed fraud, and Dirty D did nothing wrong. :upsidedow

What a stupid post you made.

ITS NOT YOUR TRAFFIC, IT'S GOOGLE'S TRAFFIC AND THEY SELL IT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN ASK GOOGLE NOT TO LIST YOUR SHIT ON THEIR SITE.

SO YOU THINK IT'S YOUR TRAFFIC. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SOMEONE ELSE BIDS ON "YOURTRAFFIC" AND SENDS IT TO YOUR COMPETITOR, IS IT YOUR TRAFFIC THEN???? WHAT DO YOU DO THEN YOU MAKE NOTHING!!!

Actually, it is my traffic if they go to Google and type in "ghetto thugs". They're typing that in because they're looking specifically for my site. It's traffic that I've already generated, and they're coming back... it's similar to a type-in, but the moronic surfer version. Do you think I need the assistance of affiliates to send me traffic for people searching "ghetto thugs", considering that I already own the #1 spot for that keyword?

Do you think affiliates bidding on the keyword "ghetto thugs" is doing me any sort of favor?

And lastly... do you think if you bid on the keyword of my brand, and sent that traffic to a competitor... that they'd actually be likely to buy from the competitor? No, because they're not looking for the competitor... AND they're not looking for "black men", they're looking for my site.

Additionally... if you owned my site, and you had the number one placement in Google, and some affiliate was sending you traffic from Google for the keyword you already ranked #1 on... that you'd be overjoyed and elated by the fact that they're sending that traffic to you?

I really hope not. :2 cents:

Sorry. But there are plenty of other Ghetto Thugs sites out there for one to be safe to assume that they're not specifically looking for JUST YOUR SITE.

That term has been around for quite some time. Longer than your site or program seem to have been.

The traffic is NOT yours.

I never even heard of ghettothugs.com until a week ago....And A LOT of people could be typing in ghetto thugs and not be looking for your site...

Now if you had xenigosghettothugs.com , and people were typing THAT in, then you would have an argument.

It's the same as people typing in 'black vagina' with me assuming that they are looking for my site.....Now if they type in 'black vagina FINDER', then that's different.

Mutt 12-06-2009 09:39 PM

So you disagree on me bidding on certain keywords, fair enough. Let me ask you this - do you have anything in your TOS regarding keyword bidding?

And since you might have missed my question from earlier, do you think its right that a program should remove an affiliate from the payment batch without saying anything, yet continuing to accept the affiliates joins with no intention of paying them?

He stated earlier that his TOS do not have to cover things that are "logical" to him.

Lots of mainstream companies prohibit the bidding of designated or copyrighted keywords. That is fine. Know why? Because it is in their TOS.
