I'm sorry you feel our account verification process is requiring too much.

Per our agreements with the bank/mc to withdraw funds you have to be verified. That simple.

If you have a client that is only able to pay via paxum we have set it up so you are able to still accept payment through our system without having to wait to get verified. So once your account is verified then you will have access to your funds. That simple really.

Also it does us *no good* at all to deny an account. We dont make money by telling people no.

Who have you contacted regarding your ID issue? you can contact myself [email protected] or [email protected] with your account information and we will work with you through the whole process.

We do not "bank" anyones money. We do not ever use clients money for anything ever. We will not profit off of idle sitting money or use that money for anything at all.

At Paxum we have a REFUND button available for EVERY received transaction. This button can be clicked regardless of whether your account is verified or unverified, and the money is instantly refunded to the person who sent it. If you already have an account with Paxum you will be able to find the refund button located within your Account Statement.

Therefore, if any client is unable to verify their account for whatever reason, the received funds can be easily refunded back to the original payer.

Paxum does not hold anyone's funds hostage.

Chris/Ruth, talk to me about the additional currency acounts. I have just added a GBP account, is this an actual physical account or is it just displaying my balance in pound notes? Also, now that i have the GBP account, is it possible or necessary to delete the origional USD account?

I had trouble getting verified as well (they asked for more ID's and shit than most people have) Mailed them and everything was solved real quick.

So if I get an account with Paxum I should first get it verified and only after that, deposit funds, right? How many IDs do they ask for? I have an ID and a driver's license, no passport.

Eyeball ,
The GBP account is a separate account that will appear in your account once you add the currency. You are not able to delete the USD currency account but you are not obligated to use it at all. Just make sure when people send you money they send it in the currency of your liking.

Also keep in mind if someone was to send you a currency you do not currently have setup we will create the new currency within your account for you and deposit it there.

4 weeksish - the printing process takes about 1 week and then after that it has to go through the mail system.

You need two forms of ID and proof of address. By the sounds of it you have the two id's (DL & ID ) so you would just need some sort of bank statement with matching information

Ruth, could you hit me up ? I have complained several times about the fact that Paxum keeps asking for documents already provided, you have told me several times you would get it fixed and every time I log in I get the same message. It's fucking ridiculous, Payoneer don't put me through this trouble, neither do Paypal. If you're wondering why there are no funds in my Paxum account then this is why - because Paxum just can't seem to get it's shit together

Dealing with Paxum is like an episode of Yes Minister.

Rather than accept a document available from an Australian Government Website they wanted me to screen capture it and then upload it, which in the meantime means I could have doctored the screenshot to say anything I wanted it to, whereas by directly accessing it from the Australian Government Website by doing a business name search it would be completely original with no chance of doctoring or tampering.

Ruth has tried to help, however seriously Paxum, this is a prime example of what Seth Godin would call "broken by design".

So you don't even collect interest on those funds that are, for lack of a better term, frozen? I find that a little hard to believe.

The edit button appears to be broken so let me explain what I mean by "hard to believe".. It's not that I think you're doing anything shady, but if my bank is collecting interest on the money I have in my account, then surely a company like yours is doing the same right? I mean, I doubt you guys are profiting on the transfer fees alone.

The problem I see though is that if you are collecting interest on funds that the account owner cannot access.. that can indeed be perceived as shady business practice.

IMHO, what you should do is follow the same procedures as other financial type institutions... require identification upon creation of the account, and funds can be neither received or sent until the owner of the account verifies is.

This would solve a lot of problems like in this thread... imho anyway

Ok thanks for explaining, I'll apply for an account. And the way I understand it, you verify an account directly after opening it, you don't wait till there's a 2500 euro balance on it like PayPal does and then freeze it?

Here's my PayPal horror story: I sold an camera, the buyer pays by PayPal, 3200 euro (that's about $5000), I get an e-mail from PayPal that they froze my account because I received more than 2500 euro on it. They ask me to identify myself but when I opened the PayPal account I used my nickname - surname which doesn't match with my official name - surname and even though the PayPal online help says that they will change your nickname into your official name, the Vichy Franche branch of PayPal refused to do this and I couldn't touch the 3200 euro, they wanted to keep it for 6 months and then decide if they were willing to give it back to me. So I refunded it back to the buyer who then transferred it by the good old reliable bank transfer (wire). But what if I wasn't on good terms with the buyer? Then I would have been f u c k e d.

I'm sorry but what the fuck did you expect to happen when you opened a paypal account using a fake name? I mean seriously... your paypal horror story only happened because you were an idiot.

For the record, we ask for one ID and you can never transfer funds into your Payoneer account until you have been approved, so you will never have that situation. Also, unlike PayPal, if we DO shut down your account (I only know of 2 cases in the time I"ve been here), the funds are always sent back to your partner so you can get them back - they won't be lost or held for any amount of time.

By nickname I mean for example Bill if your official name is William. So you register it to Bill Jones instead of William Jones. Would be nice if PayPal would tell you straight from the start that you have the names exactly as written in your passport.

Yep. It's inconceivable that they're not earning interest on people's money, which is fine if someone chooses to leave their money in their account. But it clearly opens up a motivation for Paxum to make it hard for people to withdraw their money when Paxum is profiting from them being unable to do so.

People were complaining about this Paxum "ID verification" process months ago.

The problem I see though is that if you are collecting interest on funds that the account owner cannot access.. that can indeed be perceived as shady business practice.
Sig whoring penis extension pills is always a good sign of a stand-up company, I find.

IMHO, what you should do is follow the same procedures as other financial type institutions... require identification upon creation of the account, and funds can be neither received or sent until the owner of the account verifies is.
You just have to ask why they would make it easy for you to get money sent to "your account" (aka their bank account) without verification, but require you to jump through hoops to withdraw from their bank account. Even Epassporte didn't do that.

Sounds good. I hope you and Paxum will get bigger than PayPal.

Paypal doesn't require a passport for verification... does it?

I was talking about Paypal. Too many P. P. P. names. Never used Paxum; never trusted them. There was a thread about this very same problem months ago, people sending shitloads of documents and not being verified, so I'm surprised they haven't done anything about it.

Personally I think giving out your passport is bad enough in this day and age, with identity theft rampant, but handing out all your IDs and docs to God knows who is lunacy, IMHO.

Well, I can't speak for PayPal, but I know that we required to get AN ID by the regulations we follow to be able to issue the MasterCard, but like I said, we only ask for one ID (as long as it is clear), and we let you choose which - a driver's license is fine. All of the companies ARE dealing with money, after all, and these aren't prepaid cards that are sold at a gas station, they are related to a company that has about a million regulations to uphold (we do, I assume Paxum does have some, too).
