Can get about 90 points in my group
60-65 pushups it's not that hard for a man, unless your belly is bigger than your foot size.
Used to be able to do this on fists, now on open hands only.

It didn't go that well, I only got 38 push-ups. And there went my "taking easy" recovery from being sick.

When we did push-up test in army, there was time limit, which wasn't that much. I tried to emulate that.

When I was a young buck in boot camp I always maxed out on the PT tests. I was a track runner in high school so the runs were easy for me, and the push ups and pull ups were easy too.

Last time I tried to do a pull up I utterly failed.

My diet has taken me below 220, and this week I plan on starting with small weights. Give me a year or two and I can do 100%.

push ups and squats are something everybody should do on daily basis - especially if you are working from home office.

to make push ups more effective i do elevated push ups with my feet on chair and use push up bars so the move is deeper, usually 20-30 reps per set and several sets daily.

When I was in the Army from 89-97, the maxes for 18-21 males were:

pushups in 2 mins: 82. My best: 110.
situps in 2 mins: 92. My best: 127.
2 mile run: 11:54. My best: 12:36.

They have since lowered the run standard for max to something like 13 min.

Based on those scores and if 50points is the norm I would say that table is based on 60seconds. So if you are 27-31 you should do 30 pushups in a minute in order to qualify for 50 points.

If that was not based on 60 seconds than almost any healthy man would do his 50 points...

After doing more research it looks like time limit is 2 minutes (not sure why isn't it even mentioned there) and minimum is 60.

Well since you did male results in PT you just proved their point, girls with super low requirements had it easy. Of course you must have been training for years to do better than most men. Very rare exception.

I was 19 years old and did dance and skating everyday before getting into the Army. I was in killer shape and worked out super hard everyday. I just always felt like I was being judged as a girl and wanted to prove everyone wrong on an equal playing field. It made me who I am today.

I believe the time limit was 2 minutes for Pushups and situps.

Basic was a score of 50 on each 3 to PASS, and after leaving schooling you had to get a mim score of 60 points in each area to pass...

Give it a Try, oh Film it, let's see how many you can do in 2 minutes?

When I was in ranger school I hit 160+ pu and 130+ sit ups in 2 minutes and could PT for hours... did the 2 mile in the +/- 10min range. Not having pt'ed in 25 years I believe I could hit the 100 for my age at the standard army pt chart. Like anything else physical technique is everything.

thats not making them more effective that is just changing the muscle group being worked. doing multiple forms of them is ideal if you are going to do them often.

Last year my goal was to loose weight. I walked into Phoenix Forum thirty pounds lighter so I am thrilled to death. I was planning on doing something something and even bought weights for it, so this fits right into my plans.
