Calling out some adult review sites that give legit review sites a bad name

My Affiliate Manager alerted me to the fact that there are three extremely similar adult cam review sites posting up fake reviews and making false claims against legit cam sites giving them a bad rep and we are one of them.

I present to you exhibit A. The three fake reviews on our site that totally disparage our sites and other similar sites like ours (naked, bongacams, webcamclub, etc.) Every site is either rated very high or very low depending on if they're an affiliate or not.

These sites are full of fake comments and fake reviewers. All reviews are almost identical and they're either a 5 score or a 1 score with a horrible rep.

They refer to us as "scammers" and that we were "full of nothing but ads" and were "unsafe" among many other things. This is the type of shit affiliates need to get banned for.

I contacted the site two days ago requesting removal from the site and heard no response so now it's time to call them out. My next move is to report them to google, their registrar (godaddy), and the cam sites they're affiliated with to try to get this shit removed.

Joking aside, your story reminds me of my old days when I was messing around with penis enlargement sites and a lot of sites used to do a "top list" where one or two brands were SUPERB and MAGICAL and the other non affiliated ones were named hurtful, hazardous and god knows what.. sucks for you but it's just an (immoral) way of directing traffic.

as much as I agree on that this whole site/network the OP is talking about does only write bad reviews to push his positive reviewed sites. He probably never even entered the sites to start with. Just lifting on the site name keywords in Google to gain traffic.

These guys aren't just reviewing my site and saying they don't like it. They're saying we infect people's computers with viruses, spam, etc. They are going way beyond saying they don't care for our service into down right lying and defamation about our site/company.

If that peanut butter company found out about that, you think they wouldn't be going after them? Or should they be sitting at home making a review site about how crappy that review was? C'mon.

It's a serious civil crime, if a civil offense can be called a crime, I've read about business competitors in the hotel and restaurant industries creating fake bad reviews of competitors and posting them on major websites - and when the victim of the fake reviews sued they won very large awards.

Maybe, this is just a can of worms but Canada and the UK have lesser standards of burden with regard to criminal defamation -- consult a lawyer in those jurisdictions.

Freedom of speech has nothing to do with defamation -- your mouth may have freedom of speech to scream fire in a crowded theater but your body can be fined or incarcerated.

Also, I did some research and this bloke is doing nothing more than keyword slamming the SEs. He has a bazillion sites all interlinking bullshit with random key word stuffing. I should have looked a bit before opening my pie hole. Sorry to OP.

I now see OP's point. I still, however wonder what avenues they would have in order to correct it. I did send off an email to the site operator's CONTACT ME directing them to this thread suggesting that they take it down. It most likely will fall upon deaf ears.

Has OP tried contacting the site directly? Any response? Does OP have anything that would make them think that this is an affiliate that was banned or had hatred towards the company? Maybe that would provide some clues.

I found about 15 domains, all bullshit nonsensical crap interlinking between sites but all of the domains are privacy protected. Good luck to OP. Again, my apologies for calling you a bitch.

I am sure OP is checking his traffic logs, SE results etc. He's jamming the SE's with keywords from his site in order to get traffic for the sites that he wishes to promote... this made me ask if it would possibly be a scorned affiliate from the past.

He puts iFriends up there as one of the better cam sites. His Clickcash ID is spicedmartini

Maybe go with that and you can narrow down which cunt is doing this to you.

OP, contact iFriends (ClickCash) and explain your dilemma. If there is one camsite on the planet that is concerned about their rep, trademarks, or what they are affiliated with? It's iFriends. They not only contact the affiliate directly (if they think something is off), but they get shit done.

Use that iFriends (ClickCash) ID I sent you and get a hold of them. If they are a big enough affiliate and are threatened to have their earnings taken away? The blog owner will delete that shit quick. iFriends had 5 Twitter accounts completely shut down inside of 24 hours that were misrepresenting my girls. This was literally less than a week ago.

Go with the ClickCash route.

Because. Anybody that knows what a stand up company they are? They protect their mark and regard it very highly. If there was a chance of them being involved in ANY sort of wrong activity? They will remove themselves, and they will do it FAST.

You would NOT want to face the legal team that iFriends has to bring to the table. Trust me. At the same time, they do not want to introduce themselves into a potential lawsuit nor be respondents in one... which they would more or less have to be if a lawsuit was brought up. If nothing else, they maybe could help them out. iFriends has very little to worry about as far as competition against OP goes. Many of his girls work for them too, I am sure. Most cam girls work multiple sites.

It's not about the traffic they get. It's about slandering our name and saying that we have viruses and malware on our site, that is dangerous and that we're scammers.
It's not just a fake bad review, it's a defamatory one, in which just using our site's name to generate traffic for the other sites he's affiliated with.
He's not linking back to us and the other sites he's slandering, he's only put links up for the sites he is affiliated with.

Thank you for getting back to us.

When you first reported the issue, even though we are not responsible for the content on said sites, as we promised in our reply e-mail we asked the webmaster to remove these posts or at least change their tone.

Now I checked the text again and it seems the webmaster did start to change some of it, for example I can hardly see the text "scam" anymore. I believe the webmaster is going to finish these changes over time.

Well, it is a fine line and I can totally understand your frustration. In the end tho, it is (mostly) opinion. You can do what Harmon suggested, or what it appears you are doing now. You can keep escalating it (host, lawyer, etc) and see how far it goes.

My point about traffic meant the site's traffic might be so tiny that the actual 'damage' to you could be minimal.

you contact majority review sites and ask them to review your site, as many as you can, in a hope that those bad review sites will go down in serps/.

nothing else you can do if they are outside us/their servers are outside us , its on internet.
