it sounds like you were using domain confusingly similar to mrskin, for example mrskinblog.com, full of mrskin links, banners, etc on it... the copyright holder probably assumed mrskin owns it, that's why mrskin is taking heat, not you...

also, if lawsuit came forward, it would be mrskin under fire, they are indirectly participating in all this and making money from it, plus they are the ones with $$$, not you... it would be pointless to sue you...

No, it was completely unrelated domain. The domain with "mrskin" in it came up later, when they started digging for what could possibly be used to terminate my account.

No. I was infringing the alleged copyright, not them. I was making money off of that allegedly copyrighted content.

Also, I already pointed out their terms. Affiliate is always to blame no matter what.

Your jumping to conclusions.

The film company or whoever may have for all you know contacted MrSkin and stated they were not happy.

But as I say, if I was advising you, I would be saying that posting in a public forum that MrSkin are 'scumbags' and everything else you have stated they are (I presume they have your name and address on file too), is probably not a good idea.

Its one thing to ask us if we think you broke the rules or not, and if your account should be closed, but its another to post that the firm MrSkin is this and that.

As I say, I would think hard about your next posts.

What a tupid motherfuck you are

Are you this stupid?

Do you know how quick a film or TV firm can sue and get a site shut down.

And there is a difference between porn and film firms. One has millions of pounds to sue you and the other tends not to have.

Vano, just move on.

You made some money (great).

You fucked up by using MrSkin in a domain name (very few sites will let you do that), and your account was shut (again most firms would close your account and demand the domain name in that situation).

This feels like 2001, as I read the same stuff back then.

Almost each year something like this.

Your right.

I am the one who was so stupid as to use MrSkin in a domain name and think I could get away with it, then when found out and account shut, cried on gfy.com.

Oh, right. That was you, not me.

I am the one who promotes MrSkin correctly and enjoys the re-bills.

Sucks to be you.

woj: another point is that they shut my account down because i didn't exclusively use their äpproved" content.

Yet, they don't have any problems spamming high-traffic celebrity websites asking to join their program.

Here's a screenshot from when they spammed one of my websites:

Well your smarter than me.

I am off now to have a bath in all the money I have made from MrSkin, and still make.

I end up not knowing what to do with all this cash as you get so much of it from MrSkin.

As you say I am a retard, but this retard still has his MrSkin account.

As I say, sucks to be you.

I don't really know the whole story and don't really care much either way, but like someone said earlier, generally affiliate programs don't shut down accounts for no reason...

based on what you said it sounds like they are taking heat, and so they need to throw someone under the bus to legally protect themselves: "that was an affiliate, we shut down his account, sorry"...

hopefully you can get this issue resolved with them though...

Screw them. I've already written this off as collateral damage for working in a hi-risk niche.

I'm ust posting here to warn others what shady assholes MrSkin are. People can decide for themselves to heed my advice or not, i don't care.

MrSkin can keep their rebills. I already got a deal with TabloidDollars.com that Jimmy suggested, and i'm getting $35 PPS with no hold, at x4 times better ratios.

Keep drinking the kool aid, bro.

Just because you may or may not promote MrSkin does not give you the right to talk about how he does business with film firms.

Lets be honest, IF he was stealing the film firms would have shut him down and sued him for Zillions. Lets put it this was in Leeds a pizza owner many years ago had a pizza joint named after his favorite film. They made him change the name. So if they can find a tiny pizza shop in the middle of no place (and that was before the internet so they were not googling his name) I am more than sure the know about MrSkin.

For all we know MrSkin may pay a licence fee, or its just great publicity for the film firms. But its none of our business.

But as for Vano. I cannot be bothered to read your posts. BUT......

This is a BIG BUT....

If you have misused pics or vids or a domain name from a film star, then to be honest you bloody stupid and no wonder your account on MrSkin was shut. Do you think they are going to risk upsetting film firms are film stars who provide him/his site with content just to keep you happy? Of course not.

If I was running a business and my best mate or a family member was working for me, but I found out they were being a prat and put the business at risk, I would get rid. You just cannot risk things.

Also in your first post you stated it had MrSkin in your domain name!!!!

That's rule 1 of promoting any site is you DO NOT USE there domain name in any way. That alone would get your account shut. If you had done that with playboy, I suspect not only your account shut but you would be sued too.

If I was MrSkin, I would be showing his lawyers your post and see if there were grounds to sue you for slander. If I was you I would think carefully before you post any more about MrSkin.
clueless

This will be my one reply to this thread. I'll provide the facts and our perspective on the matter and the fine people of GFY can make their own decisions. I think our 17 years in business and stellar reputation with affiliates speaks for itself. Do some digging in the GFY archives and see what you find.

We were implicated in a copyright infringement claim due to the OP using glamour photography of celebs to promote MrSkin.com. To clarify, it wasn?t a DMCA notice, but a straight cease and desist letter from the photographer?s lawyer (DMCA notices are only for user-generated content). On his site, as you can see in the screenshot below, the OP was (and still is) insinuating that we had scanned photographs on our site which we don't. We only post screencaps and clips from film and television. He is also using our trademark on these pages, giving the impression that we own the website. Both of these actions clearly violate our terms.

Once we dug into his account we also found out that he was sending traffic from domains which contained our trademark which is another blatant violation of our terms. As anyone who runs a large affiliate program knows, it's nearly impossibly to monitor every referring url which is why we weren't aware of these issues previously.

The OP did transfer the domains containing our trademark, obviously hoping to get his account unbanned as has been mentioned in this thread. However, he has failed to remove all infringing content, including on the specific page in question. The link and screenshot below prove that. At this point there is no reason for us to un-ban his account as he's blatantly disregarded our terms, abused our trademark for his profit, cost us legal fees, and since being contacted and banned has done basically nothing to truly rectify the problem.

If any affiliates would like any other questions answered, feel free to contact me or any of our representatives directly. We are always available and happy to help.

I assure you that eating the rebills from a webmaster who isn't making a ton of new sales is most definitely "a reason" and not an uncommon one. It's happened to me many times as programs start feeling a cash crunch due to declining sales.

Why don't you contact the shooter you infringed, given that Mr. Skin gave you the info? I totally understand a program being concerned about potential pending legal action, so you should really try to clear that up first.

Edit: never mind, just got to page 2.

To clarify, it wasn’t a DMCA notice, but a straight cease and desist letter from the photographer’s lawyer
More lies from Mrshitskin scumbags.

You told me it was a DMCA report. Here's a screenshot. (and after numerous requests you never showed me a copy of it.

I didn't insinuate anything. Any webmaster promoting celebrity niche is using celebrity photos from various sources from the internet. Everyone knows this. You didn't have problems with it for years while i was sending traffic your way. And you don't have problems with obviously dubious content on high traffic websites and tubes when you spam them to promote you. I already posted a photo of you soliciting it.

So you are "borrowing" someone else's work/content to promote your website. How is it any different from what i did? Double standard hypocrites.

Of course i was using your "trademarks" to promote YOUR program EXCLUSIVELY. That's the whole point, to make a gallery look similar to the paysite that you promote. What planet are you from?

Again, this only became a problem when i stopped sending you traffic. You didn't give a shit about this for years. And the domains had exclusively MrSkn galleries, which promote only your website. Terminating an account because of that is stupid. You could have just asked to transfer the domain (which we did same day after your requested it).

You aslo gave false hope (hinted) that transferring the domains to you would solve account lock problem. And after i promtly pushed the domains same day you just left me standing with my dick in my hand:

How could I remove all content? I have hundreds of galleries built over the years. I removed the one with the name mentioned. I couldn't remove the other one because i didn't know what it was. I asked you numerous times to send me the copy of DMCA report so that i would know the URL and which content exactly was in violation. Every request got conveniently ignored by you. You weren;t interested in fixing anything, just wanted a reason to can the account and keep the rebills.

I used your promo tools to exclusively promote YOUR FUCKING SITE, FOR YOUR PROFIT.

I removed the only instance of the mentioned celeb name i was able to find the moment i received your first email. You never even mentioned an infringing URL until in this thread. I asked for a copy of DMCA to know better what to look for, so that i could remove it. I cooperated fully and pushed the domains to you the same day. I promty did EVERYTHING to rectify the problem. You just werent interested in rectifying it.

Hopefully people make a good note on your "policies" and how you are able to terminate an account and keep all the money with any made up reason. Nice Terms & Conditions you have to fully protect yourself in any situation and fuck over any affiliate at a drop of a hat.

God damn scumbags

That's the problem, they never gave me any info. I didn't even know which gallery URL was infringing. I asked for a copy of the DMCA report many times but never received one.

Yes, i did get owned. By fucking thieves.

I hope other people don't make same mistake. Because by their logic (and terms) even using a MrSkin banner to promote their site is grounds for account termination for "trademark infringement". (when it suits them)

And if by site you mean the gallery, i guess it does suck, it been made 10 years ago or so.

Your Damian nick said something very similar, at least that was your attitude once it was exposed that AFF was hijacking their own affiliates traffic. All because you were making your money from them. It really doesn't matter as that was so long ago, but many here know the stance you took then, which was shady to say the least.

I didn't know/remember sambo was banned - As far as being secretive is concerned you will find that I have mentioned being both NICs on a number occasions...

When will you post the proof of your accusations about me stealing your content btw?....

You are the one being shady - It's fairly obvious to most people here...

I'm not trying to get you banned again if that's what you're insinuating. Why do you keep bringing up you stealing my content? Its like you did something and are constantly rubbing it in my nose and bragging about it by posting about it over and over again. So shady
