Mosul is another story but no one contests that it is an ISIS stronghold.
Allepo is partly held by rebel factions but they are not part of ISIS. Parties hostile to Ass-ad. Ass-ad don't like these rebels they took his toys. Putin could give two-fucks about Ass-ad or the Syrians. Putin just wants to be secure in his Mediterranean Port and military facilities. Putin should just take his lands in Syria for the Russian Military -- make a deal with Ass-ad and the Opposition -- a Truce and a partition of a part of Syria -- and non-interference in Syrian internal problems. An arms embargo on both parties. Let them fight with sticks and stones in the bitter end if they want to. Truth is Russia is controlling the airspace over Allepo. The Russians are helping Ass-ad commit war crimes. |

No evidence of that. Now what? It is a war crime to bomb civilian targets when not fired upon by those target. This is not a random accident. They push these inaccurate bombs out of helicopters, "Hey, let's bomb this neighborhood today." Bombing hospitals and civilian market places intentionally is not in compliance with the International Laws of Military Conduct. What happened in 1999 means fuck all -- same goes for GW Bush's War crimes in the Iraq invasion -- or for Putin's complicity with war crimes in eastern Ukraine. That is the lamest reasoning I have ever heard. That's no different than trying to justify todays war crimes with the war crimes in WW2 -- fucking stupid reasoning. |

I really doubt that Assad's intention and goal while he was in power 100 % was to make genocide of Syrians. He rather wanted to rule.... and make his country prosper (but on top of that - his friends and family). Nothing really wrong with that... now look what we have today.... the " not moderate opposition" kills Alawites on spot. Majority of people in Assad's army are Sunnis... now, quoting Assad: "how can you survive without public support, if you have against you practically all your neighbours and world powers"...so answer this for yourself... divide and conquer ! the silence (and I mean - true silence, not any fucking word in media) of Israel on this matter really says a lot. |
