Now if you go to the doctor with a headache...the first thing they do is ask for your insurance card. ![]() |

And if you think that most red-blooded American men EVER want to go to the doctor unless they absolutely have to...then you're crazy. lol Doesn't matter if all doctors were suddenly 100% free for everyone tomorrow. Us guys would STILL avoid them like the plague. ![]() |

Matter of fact, Congress and the Senate weren't even ALLOWED to see the ObamaCare bill until AFTER they voted it into law. Remember Pelosi famously saying: "We have to pass the bill so you can find out what's in it"? No drama, no political grandstanding. It was passed without being read by the Democrats in the Senate and the House without a single Republican vote for it. Nobody had the chance to grandstand because they didn't have a clue what was in it. Probably one of the biggest derelictions of duty in the history of our govt. Especially as it impacted 1/6th of our economy. Yeah...AFTER it was voted into law...THEN the Republicans rightfully raised hell. And two years later...the beginning of the end for the Democrat Party started in the 2010 election as they began losing seats. Pres. Obama had promised that the writing of the health care law was going to be televised LIVE on CSPAN and that there would be a website with daily updates and the bill laid out for people to read AS it was being written. That turned out to all be lies as we know now. The whole thing was written in total secrecy and never vetted by our elected representatives beforehand. That's why the thing has failed so spectacularly. The math was insane. |

Tax Credits under the Affordable Care Act vs. the American Health Care Act: An Interactive Map | The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation
Interesting calculator to see the possible financial outcome for you. If your payroll income or net business profit is over $50K you are a winner. The tax credits are age dependent. But if you are over 60 you will pay 5X the lowest rate it says here https://www.theatlantic.com/health/a...-cliff/518769/ So in the end game, that chart I posted may be a good estimate -- even if you win the tax credit game you will lose the insurance rate game. Price of poker is going up and the insurers are going to end up the winners. There are lots of ways to take the publics' money without raising taxes or levying a new tax -- this is a good example. Thanks Trump ... |

Our medical professionals need to to take a pay cut of 50%
![]() The GOP healthcare will allow healthcare insurance executive salaries paid between $500,001 and $1,000,000 to be 100% deductible as expense like all US corporations are able to do now -- this will cost $600 million more over the next 10 years. Guess who will get to pay for this? |

The more I hear about the details of this plan, the funnier it all becomes.
A tax credit for insurance executives making over $500,000? What the fuck is that all about? Why don't Republicans just admit that they're more interested in killing Obamacare than coming with something for the people they claim to represent? They farted this plan in a month so they could justify repealing ACA, but it looks like a tax break for rich people and says fuck you to everyone else.

The problem is all the goddam illegals who get free care and all the subsides for poor people who have shitty genetics who constantly get "Free" care and medication so of course the companies are going to price gauge

It comes down to this.. PLAIN AND SIMPLE....
I trust the Dems and I don't trust the republicans. I truly feel the DEMS have the best interest of the little guy... and the republicans have their donors best interests like the NRA, insurance companies, energy companies, pharmaceutical companies etc that's it in a nutshell... I don't own any of the companies the republicans support |

I left the UK for America 20 years ago. There is a huge misunderstanding re the UK healthcare system, it's not free, not by any stretch of the imagination. When i left i was paying around 40% tax on my income and another $2000.00 a month National Insurance. National Insurance covered pensions and health care. Now 20 years ago $2000.00 a month was a lot of money, even today it's a lot but it was based on my earnings in the film industry.
The system worked and i paid zero for medication or Dr visits, Vision or Dentistry. I didn't have any hospital bills but if i did they would have been free. The downside of the UK system was it could take years to have any non life threatening surgery like hip replacement etc. I believe something like that could work here, those that earn the highest salary pay a higher % towards health care and those on low salary less. ![]() |

If we had Medicare for everyone, covering the basic health care stuff people could then get gap insurance or something like that to "upgrade" their polices if they wanted to.. The only problem with healthcare in the US, is it's been turn into a "for profit" industry, where profit is more important that people's health. |
