Once again: your aircraft carriers are cool, but they are dinosaurs in 21st century. Course they could work fine against stone-age countries like Somalia or Yemen, but not against Russia, China or India. They will be sunk in minutes with a minimum effort. All the mentioned countries have a lot of cheap-ass shipwreck cruise missiles that are undetectable and uninterceptable, because they fly on almost a zero attitude with an ultrasonic speed. Boom and there is no "Abraham Lincoln" with all its crew. These missiles are very cheap and extremely reliable nowadays. Sad but true.

if a nuke of any type is used against the U.S. forces that nation will be destroyed, period. We have a zero tolerance policy. If Russia destroys a Carrier Battle Group with nukes the entire nation of Russia will be destroyed. The U.S. has this policy to deter any nation from first use, period.

Hmm... So you want the US nation to be eliminated? The moto Russian ICBM forces is "nobody after us" and they really have means to burn out a whole planet a few times. I bet the US president is not stupid like you to exchange a whole American nation (including himself and his family members) and nations of all NATO countries for some aircraft carrier battle group.

The President does not really have a say in this matter. The U.S. has a military policy, much like Russia has a military policy. According to you Russian military policy is to use nukes against a carrier group even thought they know to do so will initiate the end of Russia. The Russians know well what our military policies are just as we know theirs. Our military policy is zero tolerance of first use. The Russian military are fully aware what will happen to Russia if they ever initiate first use. So does every military with nukes. As you said there will be no "if" as the military will respond as they are trained to do.
