A GFY user is trying to scam one of my employees into paying for a domain name he's squatting on - Page 3 - GoFuckYourself.com

"Withholding someone's domain name is like stealing, or at least, kicking someone when they are down."
Once you let the domain expire is not yours anymore. Anyone who register it, becomes the new owner. If you want that domain back, pay for it, otherwise let it go.
As much as i would like to be on your side, this time I cannot do it. We all lost at least a gem during our adult game. Does this makes the new owner a thief? Definitely NO. We should learn our lesson and be more cautious in the future.
BTW: if you have a trademark on that name, that's a completely different story.

Look, Butler didn't just stumble upon Mark's domain and buy it. He visited one of his sites and purposefully knew the domain was expiring. He waited carefully to the right moment, probably right before the auction ended, and place a bid and won it. Then he contacted him and tried to sell it.

It's lame. He and Mark were high fiving in their Trump bashing threads. He knows who Mark is. He knows Mark's sites. The guy's a 2 bit con

I use Bulkregister, everything on autorenew and I keep a $200 deposit there for in case my credit card can't be charged. I almost lost my most important domain last year, my credit card had expired but I totally forgot about it, checked into my Bulkregister account and that one domain was going to expire the next day after they had tried to charge my credit card 3 times... pew! Trademarks are wise. I did it and got money when the moron used my domain name dot org. He lost his sites, money and I didn't gloat, just said it was the price of dishonest business practices. He had a lot of sites like that including stolen content.

Years ago I used a service that notified me when someone used my images without permission. People don't change image names sometimes. I forget the name but it was about $100/year which aid for itself from bills I sent. Hosts and ISPs were happy to dump dishonest customers back then

Totally different from scooping up an expired domain from someone you don't know and trying to monetize it.

I think maybe you missed my original post. I'm not crying (much) because I lost my domain. It was my mistake, and I'm sharing the info so others don't make the same mistake.

What I'm pissed off about, is that a member of the adult community bought my name, knowing it was mine. He tried to sell it to an employee of mine first and THEN tried to sell it to me, and then when I refused he threatened to compete against me in the market. << This is what I'm surprised at.
