The street I live on in Thailand is LITTERED with street dogs. In fact, all of Thailand has them, but my street is pretty bad. Nasty dogs that will give you rabies if they bite you. They chase you every time you leave or come into the street. Their assholes hanging out, red, swollen, tits dragging on the ground, dogs dragging their itchy asses on the pavement... real fucked up dogs. The kind you want NOTHING to do with.

The locals like to "keep" them, but they don't take care of them. They throw out scraps for them to eat and then beat them with sticks from time to time for no reason at all.

Before I kill one, I tell the locals about the dog in question, the one that tried to bite me, and warm them that if he does it again, I will kill it. At first they didn't listen to me, so I killed a couple with machetes and put their heads on the fence posts so all the locals could see them when they woke up at sunrise. After that, I have not had to kill many dogs until last night.

One of the locals got this big fucking monster of a dog and it has been chasing me on my bike daily. It's chasing everyone, trying to bite them. It bit a little kid in the face (local kid) and this poor kid is ruined for life now. The locals did nothing. I went down with my machete and hit that fucking thing in the head, and it didn't die!!! Blood everywhere, but days later, it's STILL chasing people!!!! It's like a zombie dog.

So, last night after it tried again to bite me as I drove by, I borrowed the neighbors 9mm, walked down the street and shot that fucker 5 times. It took 3 to put him down!!! Then I drug this monster to my place, cut his head off, and took the head back to the persons house who was feeding it, and sat it on their porch.

Today I went out and had to pass what is usually a army of dogs. There was not a dog in sight and all of the locals were mad eye balling me as I drove by. I'm curious to see how long they will keep the dogs in line this time.

It's a shame that the dogs had to be killed, but if they're rabid and attacking people... then there's not many alternatives. No one wants to see children killed by wild animals. Your method of killing is pretty brutal though. Chopping off their heads is a pretty savage thing to do.

Next time, chop of the head of the biggest dog and wear his head as a mask and run around and scare the locals. Do this at night. Who knows... you may become the equivalent of Batman. Every town needs a vigilante.

I will add, I've called the police many, many times to do something about this. They do not help. I've even called some local animal groups, but there are just too many wild dogs in the area to get them all. It's not like I just run around looking for dogs to kill. I would never kill one unless I had to because it was trying to harm me or others.

Regarding the brutality of cutting of their heads... they are dead. Dead is dead. I do this to show the local Thai people to keep those dogs out of my way or they will end up on their fence.

uh, there are endless paradises in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. i could post pics all day from the times i've spent there (been there twice, 2008 for 6 months, 2009 for 3 months). the northern region of Thailand is pure mountains and jungle, certainly not a slum lol... and the remote southern islands on the Adaman sea (west coast of Thailand) are the most beautiful ones i've ever seen (and i have traveled most of the world). watch "The Beach" to get a vague idea of what i'm talking about. i've actually been to that beach, it's actual name is Maya Bay, and it's just unbelievably gorgeous. i've camped there several times, it never gets old.

regarding the dogs, yeah they are everywhere, even on the islands. cats too, jesus there are a lot of cats. we had a pack of dogs following us once on koh tao, they didn't attack, but they came very close. my cousin and i picked up thick tree branches and were ready for battle. the only other time i had trouble with dogs was on the island of koh lipe (about 1 hour north by boat from langkawi, malaysia)... we were a little drunk and you have to walk through the jungle to get back to the place were staying at (around an hour walk), forgot our headlamps so we were stumbling around in the dark, and took a wrong turn and ended up walking into a monk's monastery, the dog's went crazy, still, none of us (there were 4 of us) got bitten.

when i lived in downtown LA there was always dogs roaming the streets but never really bothered anyone, always kept to themselves. Occasionally would see a homeless person fight with one, but nothing bad.

i remember seeing someone run over a chicken that was in the street and someone came out yelling at them. guess it was either a pet or food

I smell a lot of Western elitism in this thread. If DWB is happy where he is, then everyone else shouldn't give him shit for deciding to live there. Any well travelled person will know that the world is an incredibly diverse place in which people live in vastly disparate conditions, and that "poor" does not always equal "terrible to live there".

When I was in Peru, I was surrounded by people who were amazingly poor, by our standards. Those same people happened to be the kindest, most wonderful people I have ever had the privelage of spending time with. Furthermore, they were humble and not totally enslaved by ambition for fortune like so many of us are, which made their lives much less stressful, and allowed them to focus on family and matters of the self much more.

That said, I'm sure there are many wonderful things about living in Thailand, or most any other country for that matter, and I wouldn't let the fact that a country has shitty neighborhoods (god knows the US has plenty too) deter one from appreciating all the culturally rich benefits that living abroad can have.

If DWB is happy where he is, then everyone else shouldn't give him shit for deciding to live there. Any well travelled person will know that the world is an incredibly diverse place in which people live in vastly disparate conditions, and that "poor" does not always equal "terrible to live there". When I was in Peru, I was surrounded by people who were amazingly poor, by our standards. Those same people happened to be the kindest, most wonderful people I have ever had the privelage of spending time with. Furthermore, they were humble and not totally enslaved by ambition for fortune like so many of us are, which made their lives much less stressful, and allowed them to focus on family and matters of the self much more. That said, I'm sure there are many wonderful things about living in Thailand, or most any other country for that matter, and I wouldn't let the fact that a country has shitty neighborhoods (god knows the US has plenty too) deter one from appreciating all the culturally rich benefits that living abroad can have.

I grew out of that by the time I was in my early early twenties. Or maybe even sooner. As a white black kid I know first hand how eliteism affects people on both sides of the fence. I've never heard that word before. It makes sense. Dogs, I hate most dogs. This one next door I feel bad for it some times even though I hate it. Guy leaves it out when it's -1 with -15 windchill.. icecycles all over its face Leaves it alone 23.5/7... screaming for attention
