All true - but I have noticed hotel prices in Montreal have gotten crazy this past summer! Not sure if the economy was picking up or it was just 'high season' but I have been there in Dec-May when prices were 1/3 of what I saw. Like $200+ Canadian for a hotel.

Yes it's why I go in Winter! No one wants to go North in the dead of January. LOL Of course you run the risk of getting snowed in but the hotel rooms are like $50. :D

This is how it was explained to me by Canadian Customs. For all intents and purposes border guards are justified in pretty much anything they believe will safeguard Canadian sovereignty and interests.

So they can search your phone without a warrant. Plus in Canada even evidence obtained without a warrant or even under duress is still considered evidence and admissible. It's up to a judge to decide how that evidence should be weighted.
