Probilling and Verotel, here to stay?
http://www.theadultpress.com/articles.php?show=3
I would like to hear some feedback about this issue. I have done some research on the topic and although things seem to be ok with these 2 companies, so did everything with Globill and they hit the water like a ton of bricks. I'm going to be writing a follow up story on these once I hear back from the companies after emailing them to let everyone know. I know a lot of webmasters would like to know since I know lots of you use these processors. Thanks |

Got this from Verotel today: Dear Johnny, I understand your concern, but Verotel is in no trouble at all. Dutchbilling had to cease their operations because of the nature of the content they were processing for. Verotel has a very strict rule on accepting certain content and we fully comply with the rules and regulations of our own merchant banks and VISA and Mastercard International. Thank you for your email and if you have any further questions, please let me know! Best regards, Marcel Trik Financial Controller Verotel Merchant Services BV >>Subject: question >> >>Hi PJ, >> >>I just heard Dutchbilling is ceasing operations, is Verotel safe? 3 >>processors in one week cant be good. >> >>Thanks >> >>Johnny |

In a way this situation with the 3rd party proccessors is good or at least has a silver lining for some.
I was in the business from 1987 to 1992 and we only accepted cash through snail mail (until you experience this you can't possibbly know how much fun it is) or through our own merchant accounts which only a couple of banks would touch and they set severe limits on our monthly sales. So all the fair weather adult webmasters will fall and the non ethical proccessors then the pie will have less eaters and we that remain will increase our income decrease our expenses and have more profits and more girls to work with. Remember you cant charge back a money order or cashed check! Just this newbie's ![]()

If you need a processor who is going to be around for a while and who is secure in their position and does not have the $750 VISA fee then check out my site and click the link there to sign up for a free Merchant Account.
http://www.sHiBe.com If you need help with set-up just let us know and send an email... Good Luck!!! |

Than Ibill (their Pincodes was a nightmare and I had to pay 800 bucks for the setup) When CCbill came around we were in heaven, no setup fee, no pincodes we jumped on them like crazy and dropped Ibill, I still had recurrend members when we opt out on ibill when the 750 fee came around and stayed with PSW as second biller instead and paid them. Now Dutchbilling, Globill, and others are going down the drain quickly. We do have Verotel as back-backup and always our Merchant Account (I really don't want to use it), but lots of companies we have dealt with in the past or still dealing with are removing Adult from their billing. This is quite interesting and I bet many sit back and wait to see what is going on, paying their fees and hoping for the best, or setting up European Companies so they won't loose their Offshore accounts (like Multicards or Verotel) when the shit hits the fan and they only take European Clients. Yikes, it will be an interesting year. Were going to the Vegas Convention, lets see how many billers will still be around than (Multicards is no longer taking adult sites starting this month) urgh!

I don't know about Probilling, but the only thing thing that Verotel seem to have over Globill is that they are an established EU company. Globill moved offshore specifically to thwart the Visa USA rules, and they^H^H^H^Hwe paid for it.
PSW tried a similar trick and again several webmasters got fucked. At least they are still in business, just pulled into line by Visa. Of course that doesn't bring back the Visa rebills I lost, or the costs of providing members a months free access while PSW continued to promise that Visa would be processing again soon. As an Australian webmaster I have very little choice in third party processors that will accept me, and right now none of them have an Australian presence, so I'm pretty much up shit creek unless I set up a EU or USA corp. If - after seeing globill and acpay go down - you still choose a processor based on their 'feature' of not charging you the $750 fee... then you've got to be fucking crazy. ![]() |

That is interesting what you said regarding AC Pay - in that they were pulled in line by Visa. Being one of many recently screwed by Glo-Bill (and with them prior to the whole Visa fee thing) I truly believed that they were a secure company. At worst, I figured that the shit may hit the fan one day and we would have to cough up the Visa fees. I'm wondering why AC Pay wasn't hit as hard. It makes me wonder if perhaps Glo-Bill was processing some sites with questionable content...

Alot of webmasters left Globill in the past two years. Last summer, they sent me an email asking why I stopped using them.

I bank offshore and it is a breeze (though a little expensive)
What we should do is create an offshore co-op bank and then use Loyds or B of A to process our transactions This only works if you move your company's base (mailing address/servers) offshore too. Butt in the long run and for those of us in it for the long run it should turn out to be a profitable option Not to mention any individual tax advantages this might gain for us (see a tax attorney as to possible benefits)
