No partisian bullshit. Serious question and lets see some unbiased responses.

I personally think she might if the polls show a dip early next week. The stories coming out aren't huge, but they are a lot of little cuts that are adding up. While she gets the base riled up, I don't think that was a big concern. The base was going to vote McCain no matter what. He needs to win moderates and independents. Suburban Moms and those who don't really get that involved in politics. I just don't know how the teen pregnancy and other stories will do with them.

Not sure how the public will react to her, but this could be a crazy couple weeks. Definitely the most interesting election we may ever see.

Personally think she can be trained well enough to make it a few weeks, even past the debates. Actually I think it is a disadvantage to have to debate a woman anyways since the public still can get a little sexist and if one goes to far they may see it as an attack or being like a bully. So for me polls will mean very little for the time being, until well she is released to go speak on her own and have to deal with media pop questions. Then nearly all of the training in the world to answer the predictable questions will not help you and more personal ideas and thoughts will leak out.

I think she will stick around unless the polls crash and burn for McCain. Like you said she has taken a lot of little hits, but if she quits it just gives the democrats firepower. They will lay into McCain and ask, "if he can't even pick a good VP candidate how can he run the country?" She could bail if things start looking bad for them and if she does I would assume she would do it as, "My daughter is having trouble with her pregnancy and my role is mother first." To make it look like she is leaving for a good reason.

If she leaves while the polls are up it will not hurt him as bad, but if she waits until the polls are down it will make McCain look really desperate and it would probably finish him off. He almost has to stay with her no matter what.

I don't think anyone would blame her for quitting to take care of her daugher and newborn son. I don't think I'd put my kids through something like that. If she goes out, I would imagine she would blame it on the media by saying that their pressure on her daughter was harsh and she needed to protect her. It would actually probably endear her to most parents and gain sympathy for the party. Dropping out could actually be spun in a great way (if he were to pick a big name alternative like Thompson).

I still don't think the teen pregnancy story is going to hurt the most. I think the trooper story could be the big one. She is refusing to hand over the e-mails and if it turns out those e-mails are bad, it could be a real dealbreaker. Her whole appeal is that she is an outsider, and if the scandal puts her in a bad light, it may make her look like every other dirty politician abusing their power.

I still think it's a week or two away (unless something huge breaks), but I think it's all about how deep the trooper thing is and how the people react to the pregnancy.

I agree. I actually think the smartest thing she could do right now would be to have an impromptu press conference tomorrow and make a passionate plea at the media to stay away from her daughter. I agree. Her daughter being knocked up is the least of her worries. If the trooper thing really turns out to be her trying to fire her sister's Ex and destroy his career just to help her sister in the divorce she will have a tough time shaking that. The republicans are already battling the stigma of being overbearing and abusive with power, this would make her look just like one of them and you know Obama would have a field day with it.

You're right. Democrats fall in the trap every election. They go after issues they shouldn't, and in the end it makes the public turn against them. They get too into their candidates while Republicans just fall in line to what they are told to say and do.

Better than some parents I've known who kick their teen daughters out of the house for getting preg. It's 2008, a teen pregnancy is not shocking anymore. She's not going to drop out, it's just not that big of a damn deal.

FAIL Lets attack her for trying to work at a high level job and raise a family=This will go over really well with working mothers. FAIL Lets attack her daughter for getting pregnant= Not only will this one fire up the anti-abortion wackjobs but will drive middle of the road woman to the Repub's. Massive Failure Biden debates a woman VP candidate= You can count on old Joe to throw out a few misogynistic comments. Could you script a worse failure I personally think she is too inexperienced and unknown to run for VP; I thought the same thing about the junior senator from Illinois. The last few days have been pure comedy. The party of transvestites and queers preaching morals . The party of womans rights implying that a mothers place should really be in the home taking care of the kids; leave that work stuff for the men This election sure has been fun to watch so far.
