I completely agree that everyone should form their own opinions of people, both in their personal and business dealings. It may be wise to be aware of others' advice, but, in the end, you need to make decisions based upon your experience with an individual.

For example, if I based my opinions of people off this message board, I wouldn't deal or talk to 95% of those found here. Of that remaining 5%, I might think they are solid people due to their positive reputation but 4 out of 5 would be willing to screw you over for a nickel.

I read people quite well. There are a few times, where I have pre-judged people only to change my stance once I got to know them better. Consider it luck if you wish, but overall in my lifetime I can pretty much say I have never really been screwed over by anyone.

That said, I also think the following analogy may apply: if your current girlfriend cheated on her ex but (as far as you know) hasn't cheated on you; the fact remains, she still might cheat on you.

Lastly to sum up the people in this thread:

Dan - I met you many years ago and consider you one of the more "straight" guys I've met through this business. That puts you among a limited number. If you ever do need help that I may be able to lend a hand with, don't hesitate to ask. Hopefully I'll be up there in Montreal this December

J.F. - I don't know you much at all, so haven't formed any opinion yet. I've heard both sides about you, on one hand I have heard about things you have done in the past to people (not talking about just Scott here) I know well and trust. I was referring to my problems with distinguishing people who are just sucking your cock for the money and status and only care about themselves and those that are good friends.

When things get bad - and you make payments for friends and sacrifice medical drugs for your family to try and help them and honor your agreements and those same friends don't give two fucking shits about it and only care about themselves and their gain, those arn't friends, those are pieces of human garbage. Esp when you lost more than 2X as much as they did and still even offered the whole thing to them giving them my share and they refuse and just DEMAND all money back when that's not even an option in the contract..... The nice thing is when things get bad - garbage usually ends up telling you they were ONLY your friend cause you were paying for things. It hurts but it really shows you their true colors. That's the one I'd be worried about looking out for....

I can go on and on about garbage, but why? One of the true signs of garbage is it does everything it can to make you think it doesn't look like garbage.

I'm not the brightest guy, but at least experience helps me to learn who my real friends are.

I'm not commenting on Jean-Francois.

I am on page 1 and a couple posts into this thread and something tells me you are being baited with this thread and looks like so far you are falling for it.

It may be wise to be aware of others' advice, but, in the end, you need to make decisions based upon your experience with an individual. For example, if I based my opinions of people off this message board, I wouldn't deal or talk to 95% of those found here. Of that remaining 5%, I might think they are solid people due to their positive reputation but 4 out of 5 would be willing to screw you over for a nickel. I read people quite well. There are a few times, where I have pre-judged people only to change my stance once I got to know them better. Consider it luck if you wish, but overall in my lifetime I can pretty much say I have never really been screwed over by anyone. That said, I also think the following analogy may apply: if your current girlfriend cheated on her ex but (as far as you know) hasn't cheated on you; the fact remains, she still might cheat on you. Lastly to sum up the people in this thread: Dan - I met you many years ago and consider you one of the more "straight" guys I've met through this business. That puts you among a limited number. If you ever do need help that I may be able to lend a hand with, don't hesitate to ask. Hopefully I'll be up there in Montreal this December J.F. - I don't know you much at all, so haven't formed any opinion yet. I've heard both sides about you, on one hand I have heard about things you have done in the past to people (not talking about just Scott here) I know well and trust.
