That is laughable, at best. Everyone here is a POTENTIAL client, meat-head. So, GTBill's reactions in public are a reflection of their professionalism, care, and concern for their clients. And, until now, it looks as though they're disinterested in updating the general population and more interested in protecting its own. If you want to partake in a public forum and enjoy the benefits, you had better fully expect to be hammered if you fuck up as well. These boards aren't only for positive publicity, it is a risk that you take when you register. And, in 2009, we saw Dirty D and host of others get hammered by everyone for 10s or 100s of pages for (relatively) minor instances. GTBill hasn't processed for 20+ days. In my eyes, that is pretty major and deserves a certain amount of attention. What if this was CCBill? It would be chaotic in this thread!

That is somewhat concerning, at the moment. I don't want to discredit this company's work all through 2009. But, they certainly need to step up, communicate, and let everyone know what is really going on. And, their rep on this board needs to be the one to do it, not Mr. 55-Posts. Really, what if I would have chosen GTBill for our company's sites? What would be the status of our accounts?

If the only way you can get a point across is by throwing insults around - you really have no point to make.

Sheesh people sure are angry these days.

And assumptions are the mother of all failures Brad,
We just finished signing their paperwork 1 hour prior to me finding this thread.....granted it had not been sent in yet, but it wont be now either.

Is there an update on this? I work with (broker) several international 3rd party billing companies and merchant account providers but have not seen any red flags about their bank relationships using this software that trolls for those keywords. Is there more info available on this software?

They aren't. I posted what we have already seen as well from another processor. If this is the same issue, it is straight from Visa and Mastercard and will effect anybodies paysite that has "questionable" words.

Get ready folks. That movie with Tom Cruise "Minority Report" is starting to happen before our very eyes. Words, thoughts, and intentions are now "crimes" You don't even have to do anything bad. Just THINK it or imply it. This isn't the country I grew up in. Sounds more like the "bad" countries we were taught about in elementary school (Nazis, Soviet Union, China is what we were told back then)

Robbie - Please remind me of the other processor, I think that I saw it in one of your other posts anyways. That said, if Visa and Mastercard are using a crawl app that finds words like 'force' and puts a freeze on anything with this content, well, I would have to guesstimate that a substantial number of mainstream sites are going to be affected as well. If it reads connotation, that might be a different story. Without question, the implementation of such an app would be 'sketchy from the outset, to say the least. BUT, you know as well as I do --- Visa and MasterCard are interested in money. This app was aimed at predators and purveyors of obscene and illegal content and I hope that it smashes access to a lot of the shit that is on the internet today. However, both of these companies will address concerns from sites/processors and they will not allow their bottom line to fall because of mistakes in their program's ability to distinguish legal from illegal (though this MAY take some time).

My beef with GTBill is more about their handling of this issue and the fact that they seems to be heavily affected by this new implementation. Page 1 was was C-Luv complimenting pictures of another member here instead of addressing the issue presented. Page 2 was Scott defending C-Luv and blaming the readership for being too harsh and their mentioning that they were at XBiz LA (hence why they weren't answering posts, even in the middle of what I would consider a 'crisis' for their company and clients). And, Page 3... well, we'll see what kind of 'train wreck' we get here.

CCBill, EPOCH, and even fucking Zombaio (whom everyone hates for some reason) all process with MasterCard, Visa, etc... and, I process with them every single day (WITH NO ISSUES). SO, it is either case that (1) GTBill has a lot of clients with a high-level of illegal and obscene content and Visa is 'cracking down' on them or (2) they are mismanaging, or taking advantage of (at the expense of their clients, this would be a good 'out' for anyone looking to 'skip town'), this entire instance. Ok, ok... I am being a bit of conspiracy theorist with (1) and the second half of (2) but their lack of concise communication (and, somewhat nonchalance) about this whole issue draws my ire and further suspicions about what is 'really' going on.

Get ready people shit is about to hit the fan.

The government no longer wants small business they want the money and power in the mega corporations that help pad their pockets.

they are basically going to make regulations so strict that it will be impossible for a regular company to operate.

there is numerous things like where you cannot over sell your product. you have to be totally upfront about what it does.

so are we going to see ford commercials saying "our cars a piece of tin, the speaker system is ok, it's kinda fast" i dont think so. only the small guys have to play by the rules.

they are now more interested in protecting idiots who make excuses for charges rather then build up what most of north america was built off of SMALL BUSINESS.

shit is going to hit the fan very very soon.

isnt when a government is telling you how what and where you can make money called communism? think about it. mega corps screw up and dont follow regulation and they get paid when they fail. it is happening all right infront of us and it is quite sad.

It was Local Billing. They sent us an email asking us to please make changes ASAP to stop our sites from being shut down processing-wise. So we made the foolish changes. And yeah, you're right about mainstream sites too.

This reminds me of that stupid software that they tried to put on libraries and schools that looked for certain words and ended up blocking 90% of the internet.

Anyway, we made the changes within minutes of getting that email. But from the tone of the email...it sounded like we could have been shut down very quickly if we had not complied.

this is a visa and mastercard issue not to do with individual billers. visa and mastercard are a virtual monopoly when they are telling businesses who is allowed to do business with who what can you do about it?

they control the money, they control the cash flow.

it is not about mis managing clients. people are swift to the game now. you can charge back basically anything. the day used to be it was up to the consumer to protect yourself. now they are putting the will on the business themselves. they would rather protect absolute idiots who do not have any business owning a credit card rather then a business trying to run daily operation trying to better the economy.

it is so fucked up. almost scary when you have PROCESSORS who are afraid to do PROCESSING because of regulation.

I hope you all know I'm a really nice guy. I'm not trying to be a dick but I can't help myself... With processing down and maybe even losing my reserve is why I'm so mad. Put yourself in my shoes.

Before this mess I really liked your company and I think you have an amazing staff. Derek and Dominic are rockstars! And did I mention Derek is so dreamy? But I think that amazing staff doesn't have any answers because this issue is bigger then them and over them to resolve.

All I can hope for at this point is that you guys get to business as normal. This is terrible PR for your company and not how any company should handle a situation like this.

I pretty much lost over 7k a month because of GTBill. I figure at least 70k a year for something that could of been prevented. I was NEVER notified of this of this issue they just started declining all my active rebilling members. They finally responded but want me to get my sites re-approved but my active members with them are pretty much gone. I'm done with them and will never recommend them or use them again.

Wow --- that is huge. This deserves a bump and this thread should be getting some serious publicity. I'm sorry for your misfortune within this instance, really.

So they ruined your business basically, that is pretty fucked.

They must have lost a few merchant accounts then, stopping new transactions if regulations change is one thing, but that should have nada to do with excisting members.

Because of issues like this i'm going to try to have more than one processor. I had a few interested advertisers that i lost due to this issue. I will contact GTbill on the 22nd which will make it one month since i got the notice.

I was hoping to have my account reinstated with gtbill, but it appears that's not going to happen.

Again: Just, wow. I can't believe that this isn't getting more publicity than it is. GTBill's processing grinds to a halt, businesses are essentially fucked, ... the works! My comments within this thread are quite clear and I will continue to bump the shit out of this thread.

@ MaximX --- Ref your plan for multiple processors: Get with the times and start cascading with at least 3. Christ, add some alternative billing while you're at it. You can't go wrong with multiple, CREDIBLE processors that don't bomb out.

I agree I do need to get with the times and have multiple processors and alternative billing.

I was approached by GTbill, something in my gut told me to go with CCbill.

Now I am glad that I did.

GTBill's silence is deafening in this thread. Complete avoidance of the issue. Bump, bump.

Agreed, based on all of the comments here that this is not an isolated incident. I'm starting to wonder what is going on here...
