While I wish Jay and Dan the best of luck on this ballsy project, I do have mixed emotions about it, because if it succeeds, it will pave the way for a new era in the business, and as a content producer, that is a damn scary new era. The thought of this model turning into the norm, frightens me.

HD, if they all can keep from giving all of the super high quality shit away, will be the next big deal. Like B&W versus color. In my eyes, the future will be all of the content free with an option to purchase high quality versions of it. Especially if they ever get that 3D coating right.

The tour will be all of their videos. The monthly membership model is also going to die. They pay $20-$50/mo for a broadband connection they think entitles them to the whole internet. You want them to pay $30/mo for YOUR site? Especially with 1M others out there looking just like it? Really? Why? Better be a god damned miracle, some of the most niched niches out there STILL have competitors, $30 for your site.. a commitment.. Why? No, they won't, not for much longer they won't. The idea is really good but poorly implemented.

Hire someone who knows how to encode videos properly and a server that streams better than your current one.

The revenue stream of only selling ad space will not work. To be exact, it will work, but you will make considerably less money than mixing stuff properly.

Other than that, it's ok.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but there are tube sites with exclusive content. Exclusive content from many many different producers. Which means much more variety for the user.

Furthermore, you are over amplifying the value of having exclusive content anyways (to some extent) To a surfer, it doesn't matter if a scene is on 20 other sites if he has never seen it before.

So after he visits your site once, he has seen all that you have to offer, which is the same thing over and over again.

You will never compete with the tubes that offer more variety. Granted these other sites are using DMCA to their advantage, and I give you kudos for not doing that and using your own.

BUT, that does not mean that SDTT is the next big thing and will work and be very profitable.

What if mainstream advertisers some time in the next decade soften up and stop caring if their ads are on adult sites? What if it becomes more socially acceptable? Hmmm... maybe then the content with the BIGGEST TRAFFIC DRIVING FORCE IN THE HISTORY OF MAN will really be WORTH SOMETHING instead of some stupid $30... you think?? How much longer can they all ignore the power of it.... you don't think a million big companies would LOVE to be able to benefit from the traffic we can drive?? I'm done rambling now but the point I am making is, no one knows what the future will hold. What I can tell you for SURE is that five years from now it will NOT be the ones who held on for dear life to this stupid old business model who are still standing.
