Sorry but I would like to chime in on this. As far as I can remember (without going back and reading the entire thread) he only implied our standards were lower because he was told he was lucky to get his money back. Obviously, if this is the mentality of people when deals go sour, for any reason, and the mob defends what is obviously bad business (reneging on a commitment) then I too would question standards, I too would question the general ethics and morals and lets be honest; our industry in particular has a very bad track record of deceit and theft. It's plain to see on a daily basis with threads like, "hey X, where's my money?" ....

I don't see him as taking a piss on all of us, I see him as giving each and everyone of us a wake up call. I see him as reminding all of us what it means to make a promise and keep it. This is obviously just my opinion but to a man (or woman), if this had happened to any one of you, you would have felt cheated. Maybe you wouldn't have brought this to the boards but you would have felt cheated, of this there is NO DOUBT!

1. He is not asking John to admit he made a mistake. John has already admitted this and all of us can see this. He is asking for John to admit that he went back on his word. 2. I doubt that John has apologised for going back on his word because he's still here saying this guy is basically full of shit.

3. Skewed? Who exactly has he skewed this situation? And how would YOU know that he has skewed the situation. He has a gripe with one thing and this is where you need to pay attention .... Falcon promised to give him the rest of the work and Falcon then decided, without informing him, that he would not be giving him the rest of the work. What exactly is skewed here??

I'm all for open discussion. As I've said before, I do think that promises should be kept. I think Falcon shouldn't have offered more when he could have closed this deal on satisfactory note providing less. I can totally understand feeling sour about that, but cheated, not really.

And regardless of industry, I do feel iameros is fortunate to get all his money back and get to keep and use the work. I think that is a great deal and it;s not one I am accustomed to being duplicated in the mainstream market. I'll give you an example-

A mainstream company needs a logo design. Willing to spend extra coin to make it slick. Search through a ton of designers, look at hundreds of portfolios, coorespond with the top of the crop, come to an agreement with one designer. Provided a very detailed dossier for the project, agree on month and a half deadline for project completion, payment delivered as half up front, half when complete. Pretty straight up thus far.

Long story short designer is fond of excuses and I don't even get 1st draft mocks until 2 weeks before project due date. They are pretty much garbage, it's obvious no love has been given to the project and to make matters worse it doesn't meet the project guidelines as outlined in the documents. Designs are rejected, detailed feedback is provided hoping to get project back on track. Several days later designer says he's not going to meet the deadline. He had a planned vacation to Germany, he'll be gone for 3 weeks, and is departing just a few days before the project is set to be due.

Needless to say I pulled out of the project. Long story short I wasted a month and a half of time and flushed a few hundred dollars. The portion that was prepaid was not refunded because he felt it was just compensation for his time. I lost time and money, he made out with some money but lost a client and any chance of future referrals (and those who have worked with me know I always generate business for those who have done right by me).

What happened there sucked, the designer could have made it right. I think it was poor business but I didn't charge the deposit back and I didn't take to the internet to bring his business down. As unprofessional as his actions were most designers will tell you the deposit doesn't usually come back if work has been done, no matter what the project outcome is.

If the designer gave me a full refund of my deposit and promised to take a second crack at it and then flaked out again, I would be pissed he flaked out and wasted more of my time, but would be able to shrug it off a bit easier and walk away with a full refund.

By the time a request for an apology came out, based around the situation on how the request was made... I would tell iameros to go fuck yourself.

The man said he was sorry, he gave the money back, he tried to make up for it.... and dropped the ball. It takes a real fucking douche bag to think you got fucked over enough to post about it on GFY... acting as if he screwed you over, pfft... as you can see many people don't agree with you.

You create your own logic to satisfy your ends and while most people agree with Falcon none of you would take kindly to being made a promise and then being told you're not getting it. If you even for a second utter a word about this not being FACT, you're a liar and no one should give credence to anything you say.

I've already posted copies of emails and snippets of conversation to back up my story. Falcon has now resorted to bullshit by claiming he changed his mind when I started abusing him. I've asked him to prove this but he hasn't
