Damn. I didn't know him personally, but he was definitely one of the brightest on the board. I can't remember a single time anything remotely negative came out of his mouth. It was always a pleasure to read his posts. Considering his personal challenges, he was a very capable businessman - more so than about 99% of the "healthy" people I know.

I never knew David but was familiar with his situation from his posts here on GFY. Seems so unfair such a great guy was subjected to so much suffering in his life, although from what I read it never held him back or prevented him from making the most out of life.
It's pretty clear from the tributes here he made a lasting impression on all those he came into contact with in the business and will never be forgotten. RIP David, I wish I'd known you man.

I was doing some side work for David shortly after he had his surgery and entered rehab. We spent hours talking one coast to another, working out the details, talking business and just shooting the shit to pass the time. I learned so much and feel I could have learned so much more from him.
I regret not picking up the phone last week when the "Anyone heard from ASM" thread popped up, but I didn't want to intrude, I knew things were not well when we lost contact near the end of Jan. I just didn't think things were this bad. When everything settles down, I have all of the info for the site we were working on, its nothing special but he had big plans for it. I will pass along the info to whoever takes over. RIP ASM, you touched the lives of many and thankfully mine too...
