I have checked the ratios for sites working with NATS and indeed my ratios are OK there but I send 80% of my traffic to sites with CCBILL as processor and that makes a big difference (since start of 2nd half of May 2010, between May 1 and May 15 my sales were OK)...

It's NOT Ccbill or Epoch. For the past 5 years I ran my websites successfully with Verotel and the situation is exactly the same here. Dude, seriously, no BS - that's the SAME thing happening to me. Just got a sale but it was the first since 11:30 am! I get up, see 'normal' sales and start thinking the same way YOU did: "It's getting better/back-to-normal..." then nothing ALL day? Amazing.

When the frustration level gets to the point where it's more-or-less constant, and you're sitting there SCREAMING at your computer screen knowing there's nothing you do but FREAK OUT, leave.

Get out. Do ANYthing else, even if it feels selfish. Take a walk, go the park, see a movie. If this is still the situation a week from now then we can all look for bridges to jump off. I am taking my own advice here and going out to a cafe now and look at pretty NYC tourists.

Then they go and get it for free at one of thousands of sites with COMPLETE MEMBERS AREAS RIPPED and Given away for free...

EVEN a GIANT like PAYPAL protects ILLEGAL sites like extreme-board... because they make them money with donations... Try to send a complain to PAYPAL, saying that extreme-board is breaking many of their TOS... You will get a response that they won't take extreme-board account down.... Sadly I fear that when the end comes to this industry, it will come quickly.

Oh for Fuck's Sake! What you said does NOT explain why ONE day sales are great then POOF! Gone the next. I am SICK of idiots (no offense) saying this over and over. Sales would decrease, slowly, over time (and they are, compared to the good ole days), but they would not SHUT OFF like a fucking faucet one day, then turn on the next. I run over 20 paysites, have a network with sites that sell consistently. CONSISTENTLY means every single day, ka-ching, ka-ching, ka-ching, like a fucking cash register. Some sites make a ton of sales a day, others only a few. Some do not. But it's those CONSISTENT sites that set me off. Your theory - NO ONE PAYS FOR PORN ANYMORE - is idiotic for two simple reasons:

1. If ppl didn't pay for porn we'd ALL pack up and go do something else, even you.
2. If you're making over 50 sales a day then suddenly you drop to 2 then go back up to whatever, like a frickin' yo-yo, that doesn't mean ppl aren't paying for porn.

That means the banks, the processors, Wall Street, SOMEbody, is doing SOMEthing. Especially when you've never seen such wild swings before now.

I still make cash with porn.
Even today.
Untill now I did send 80% to sponsors with CCBILL and 20% to sponsors with other processors.
Untill May 15 all was very well.
May should have been a normal sales month with my steady income like all the months before...
May 16 was less than before.
But than suddenly... From May 17 till May 25 I see a total cut off for my CCBILL stats. The other sites with NATS and other processors are still steady and my sales are even better with better ratios than the months before...
And I am NOT talking here of just 1 or 2 sales per day but much more...
Since last Tuesday I am pushing more NATS sites (the ratio since Tuesday evening is 40% NATS / 60% CCBILL) and I see a grow in my NATS sales.

Wednesday May 26 was the 1st day since May 17 with more CCBILL sales but not enough to speak in terms of a normal day...

I talked some peoples of this isue and most of them (not all) say the CCBILL sales are cut off. A relative of me who does only promotion for non CCBILL sites had in the time period of May 17 till May 25 one of his best days of the year with 26 sales and 750 USD in revenue that day...

Conclusion:
1.PPL still buy porn.
2.There is something going on with some of the processors (I can confirm this only foor CCBILL but I see messages that it is the same thing with EPOCH and VEROTEL and ...)

Guys, this ain't a CCBILL only issue.

For instance, my best converting program is doing 1:550 since the beginning of the year, which is awesome these days. Using Epoch by the way.

0 sales, since the beginning of the month and then 1:170 for the past few days. Like if the transactions were not enabled and then the valves were opened ?

No it is clear that this happens to EPOCH too.
So it must have something to do with the billing partner of EPOCH / CBBILL.

My stats:
From May 1 - May 15: 178 new CCBILL sales.
From May 16 - May 26: 18 new CCBILL sales (+ some rebills)

Explain me how this is possible?

No offense at all, BUT what you say sounds stupid too.. you are not seeing the whole picture here..

If your sales at the end of the month, are fine, then why are you complaining at all??

Now, if you are complaining about day1=40 sales... and day2=2 sales.. and at the end of the month, your sales are overall sucked, then yes... I'm right and ILLEGAL sites distributing your content, ARE AFFECTING YOUR BUSINESS....

If you get 40 sales one day... You are seeing 40 sales that day.. But IT DOESN'T "NECCESARILY", I repeat... Doesn't NECCESARILY mean you got 40 sales that day.. (yes, quote this LINE if you want, I know a lot of people will like it, but I'm not saying anything special here, anyone who owns a program know this already)

And again.. You need to take the WHOLE month in consideration.... Does your MONTHLY sales decreased?? THEN YES.. Illegal sites, are DEFINITELY affecting your business.. and the processor has PROBABLY nothing to do with it...

Does your monthly OVERALL SALES remain the same as always?? Then.. no reason to complain at all... Easy as that, dude...

again you need to open your eyes and see the whole picture here.. Otherwise, you won't fix the problem or be able to move on to another business.

It's a matter of statistical probability. If you have a certain amount of sales each day for 6 months and then it just stops after a certain calendar date then there is a good probability there has been a change somewhere. It's not definite proof of anything, but it warrants investigation.

Sure there is a big influence from tubes etc but this is more of a gradual factor in pushing up ratios overall. It isn't like some tube opens up on May 5 and kills everyone's business outright.

Perhaps I'm not communicating well enough here but you seem to be missing the point. LOL But to address what you wrote speicifically first:

Yes, i DO take the 'long-term view'. And i understand about buying patterns, paychecks (when ppl get them), etc etc. Free porn is an overall factor, yes.

But when sales go UP then DOWN like a yo-yo, and they have NEVER done this before 6 weeks ago, then something is amiss. Again, when you have a site that is amazingly consistent - 500 visitors WHAM a sale, over and over again, for months, with over 2.5 million visitors to the site - then somethings wrong here. Across the board wrong. Tubes and free porn were arund last month, In March, in January, last year....Yet traffic remains the same, the sources are the same, everything is the same EXCEPT - UP and DOWN wild swings.

Honestly now, if I DIDN'T raise my eyebrows at this then I wouldn't be a very good businessman, now would I? Just trust that all will 'even out' at the end of the month and don't worry about. Okay, maybe this is a good strategy if you're responsible for yourself alone, or for a small number of partners. But I run over 20 Paysites, and am in business with over a dozen models & producers. So when sales go down guess what? My phone rings, my ICQ goes DING DING DING and my email box gets flooded: Mister Peabody, WTF?

So what do i do then? "Don't worry about it honey, take the long-term view, all will even out..." Shah, YOU try talking like that a freaked-out model who just realized her weekly paycheck is going to be 65% LESS than it was last week.

And then, how long does this model (or any of them) stick around? The trust factor starts to go way down. "I USED to make X with Mister Peabody, now I'm making X...hmmmm....where's the money going? In Mister P.'s pocket?" Shit like that.

So there are many, many, many factors here, my friend. So please don't tell me I'm not looking at the 'big picture'. By year's end I'll be a million-dollar company, and I didn't get there by short-term thinking. LOL

I sent some MASS traffic to two of my best-converting sites overnight and sales seem to be returning to normal (thank Jesus). But if other Webmasters are experiencing what I have been it makes me think we may have a 'rolling blackout' situation here.

Remember the 'rolling blackouts' in California a few years back, courtesy of Enron? There would be a blackout in SF, then later on the lights would go on in SF then there'd be a blackout in Santa barbera, then in LA, then in San Deigo, then back to SF. Maybe this is what's happening with the banks? Turn off submits (or reduce them) for this block of accounts, then move on to another block, returning the previous accounts to their 'normal' ratios.

I always try and think: what would I do if I were running Epoch, CCBill, etc and I was facing "pressures" from banks, shareholders, the economy, etc? LOL So my comments (here and elsewhere) are never directed AT one company or the other, in an accusing way. Rather: I just want to COMPREHEND these patterns so I, myself, can 'adjust' various aspects of my business and personal lifestyle. I mean, that's reasonable, isn't it?

i've been suspecting for a while now that, due to the current credit climate, somewhere in the billing arena an extra level of "verification" has been put into place to confirm transactions before they are credited. it would explain the fluctuations in sales.
