CZ is a nice country, but I think you need to check your info. The tax is higher than 15%, and you also need to pay social and health insurance (income taxes). Combined the direct income tax is somewhere around 50%.

I've read on many sites that the income tax is a flat 15%, but I can't post links because I have less than 30 posts.

Can anyone else living in the Czech Republic confirm what Zyber is saying? I know that social and health insurance would go on top but 50% sounds a lot.

Good point. I love France and Italy and would be willing pay the high taxes, it's the buerocracy I couldn't stand. They even have tax on porn don't they? I think that would be too much.

15% flat income tax on your gross salary.

35% in social taxes on your gross salary (paid by employer, but comes out of your pocket).

20% VAT tax on all purchases except for things like water, medicine, books, etc which is 10%.

Corporate tax is 19%.

Cordoba, take a look here
http://www.alexio.cz/business_tax_ra..._republic.html

Quote:
Employee / Income Tax, Social Charges and Health Insurance

Employee/Personal Income Tax

15% - this used to be higher, between 15% and 32%.

The downside is that now to the gross salary ('hruba') first social- and health charges are added (the so-called 'super hruba') and from that 15% is calculated.

Employee Social Security Charges

25% - employer's part,
6.5% - employee's part

Employee Health Insurance Charges

9% - employer's part,
4.5% - employee's part
Just a quick calculation based on the info from that website. I might be wrong
Health + Social: 25% + 6,5% + 9% + 4,5% = 45%
Tax base: 145%
Income tax: 15% * 1.45 = 21.75%
Combined direct income tax: 45% + 21.75% = 66.75%

The trick is that the tax has been split up between the employer and the employee, so the tax looks much lower from the employee's point-of-view than the true cost.

A self-employed person has to pay both the employee, and the employer part.

Another trick is that they call it "health insurance" and not "health tax".

My best advice is to ask a tax advisor to get the accurate info.

No vowels. Or at least they don't like to use them.

Actually the grammer of Czech seems remarkably straightforward, it's just completely different to latin or germanic languages and all the words are unfamiliar..except 'robot', which is a czech word. Also, only 8 million people speak it, so it's practically useless if and when you don't want to live there anymore.

It takes 2 months and a $10,000 deposit to form a corporation? Insanity...

thanks for the information.

Why do so many adult webmasters live in the Czech Rep. if the tax rate is (effectively) so high?

I may as well go to Spain or somewhere like Croatia with a better climate.

I guess you haven't seen the thread about the two porn producers jailed for a year there.

I was actually considering Bulgaria before I'd seen that. Bulgaria is dirty cheap and the tax rate definately is 15% with no catches.

I love various Lat Amer countries, particularly pussy there. But every one of them is a shithole for various reasons. Living there as a permanent resident becomes a serious hustle; you need to deal with all kinds of bs every day you don't need to think about in the US. And you have no legal protection. If you have money, you also need to worry about safety, your place being broken into when you are away, all kinds of safety-related bs. So now I love living in the US, live in a state with no state tax, minimize IRS taxes, and just travel to Lat Amer a few weeks at a time strictly as tourist to party.

Plus quality RE is cheaper here. You can get luxury condo in Miami for less than comparable condo anywhere in Lat Amer. And you don't have any bs to deal with.

I also agree that Lat Amer will prob be very unstable for the next few years, with revolutions and other such shit.

while the numbers might be true it's not how you do it...

you do your own company, corporate tax is 19%

you have to be employed in your own company anyways, but you pay yourself a ridiculus low wage - like $500 a month. on that you pay social insurance, health incurance, income tax etc.

then you take out profit from your company and on that you pay a flat tax of 15% - and that's it.

and don't forget to put as many things in your company as possible - car, apartment, phone etc - this way everything is paid before tax and you get 20% VAT back.

Surprising no one wrote CYPRUS. Here is a pretty good option for what you are looking for. Many porn companies do business in Cyprus. Some just on paper and others have staff here. This is EU country, well developed, high end resort area. Many people from UK immigrate here. They have their own city Paphos. Check it out. Driving is on the left side like in UK, as this is a former colony.
Also, this is an off-shore zone with lowest taxes, about 10%.
Anyway, wanna move here? Let me know and I can assist.

can you confirm this?

Florida?
No personal income taxes.

The Social Security tax rate for 2010 is 15.3 percent on self-employment income up to $106,800. If your net earnings exceed $106,800, you continue to pay only the Medicare portion of the Social Security tax, which is 2.9 percent, on the rest of your earnings.

Is it difficult to set up there, red tape wise?
Dont do it, just dont lol
I lived there for 18 months or so, knew about 40 expats there as well and not 1 liked it there after 12 months.

Most unfriendly people i have ever encountered in my life and that is saying a lot seeing that i have traveled the globe quite a few times.

Now that was 5 years ago, but i doubt many, if anything has changed.

You could say this about most Eastern European countries. I spend 1 month of the year in either Czech or Hungary. There is no such thing as the "customer is always right". People are generally only as helpful as they have to be and nothing more. I find Europeans in general to be quite aloof.

I am considering moving to Hong Kong (Very modern but a lot of red tape and you probably have to be very rich to move there, like invest $1 million there or such to get a residence permit).

Bahamas (paradise climate, English official language, no taxes, ugly women (you need to bring a woman from some other country :D), you need $500k+ but you don't need to invest it anywhere)

or Panama (very humid climate and a 3rd world country but no taxes for offshore income, cheap hookers and plenty of hot girls)..
