NHL playoff talk

Buffalo just owned the NY Rangers tonight 5-2. Good game, I'm thinking Buffalo should take this series, and I sort of hope they do. I think their time has come to get closer to the cup this year.

Ducks leading Vancouver 3-1 in the 2nd right now, just as I expected. Canucks can win this series but they'll have to dig down deep and muster some incredible playing.

Sens @ NJ Devils tomorrow night, this is going to be one great series. Never been a fan of Ottawa really, but as a Canadian I'm going to have to say GO SENS!

Sharks vs Red Wings --- not sure who will take this one, I like both teams. The orginal sixer in me says the Wings though.

Who do you like?

GatorB 04-25-2007 08:42 PM

Now that the Lightning are out I don't give a shit. If they had won game 4 in OT they probably would have beat NJ since they would have been up 3-1 at the time. Oh well one one other team has won the Cup since they have. Maybe next year.

Spunky 04-25-2007 08:45 PM

The knuckleheads don't have the fire power it seems..Ducks in 5
Buffalo should get by in 5
Sens in 6
The Sharks in 6

Axeman 04-25-2007 08:50 PM

Vancouver should be ok if they can get Bieska and Salo back healthy. And Cooke's energy added back to the lineup for Smith/Hansen would be huge.

Tampa was bound to have a short playoff stint even if they got by Jersey.

They have below average goaltending and ride the top 3 forwards far to hard to make a deep run.

Will be interesting to see the cost cutting moves the team does in the off-season. Which of the big 3 will be traded.... I am betting St. Louis.

bogo 04-25-2007 08:54 PM

Ducks will go far this year. They have a great team.

Led by former Winnipeg Jet Temu Selanne no less.

I wouldn't be heartbroken if they were to beat the Canucks.

chuvii 04-25-2007 09:02 PM

east final: buf - njd
west final: ana - det

amateurcanada 04-25-2007 09:27 PM

Ottawa wins.

Serious?

I think that they have the best shot out of the two remaining Canadian teams, yes. I will even go so far as to say that if they manage to get by NJ their chances of winning it all goes way way up.

This could be the best series right now.

dodger21 04-26-2007 09:51 AM

That fucking Stanley Cup engraver better learn how to spell BEAUCHEMIN!

northboy 04-26-2007 10:15 AM

a lot of good teams, it's way too hard to pick right now. I mean, Sharks/Ducks/Devils/Sens/Buffalo/Wings , are the strongest teams. Canucks/Rangers are going to get eliminated. Either way, exciting hockey is going on right now.

I am chauncy 04-26-2007 10:37 AM

I think its gonna be a NJD vs DRW final but there are some great goalies left in the playoffs and they can make all the rule changes they want to hockey and one thing will always stay the same whoever has the hottest goalie wins Lord Stanley's Cup

SinisterStudios 04-26-2007 11:44 AM

D E V I L S!!!!!!!!

Fuck Everyone Else, Marty will bring us there yet again.

Cant wait to go to another Stanley Cup Game.

Oh BTW, RANGERS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

If that's true then maybe Vancouver does have a hope in hell.

Luongo is a great goaltender.

MetaMan 04-26-2007 12:47 PM

I like the Ducks, i dont "like" them, but i like them to win, their D and goalie are going to dominate.

go flames! :( :(

Just Rob 04-26-2007 12:57 PM

Yeah our D is solid this year! It's gonna be hard for a team to beat us in a 7 game series. We're young, fast and big! We're gonna wear teams out!

The Cup is coming to So Cal!!! :thumbsup

CDSmith 04-26-2007 01:03 PM

Tonight's games are going to be very interesting.

I say:

Sens 4
NJ 3

and

Wings 5
Sharks 3

Anaheim vs Buffalo would be great. Teemu or Teppo. Take your pick.

That's what I was hoping for last year. I would have been in San Diego during at least one of the games. Never seeing anything past the second round, the Cup finals would have been great. Then both fuckin' teams went and lost.

Luongo alone can win a series for sure that is why everbody needs to fear Vancouver

haha... your sarcasm is biting. :D

Vancouver is not without it's firepower. Their D is okay but could be better.
Ducks are stronger in both foward and defense, but I'm not willing to outright count Vancouver out of it just yet. Underdogs have been known to surprise everyone in the past, or... have you perhaps forgotten the past? :D

fuzebox 04-26-2007 01:54 PM

In typical Vancouver tradition they are falling apart in the 2nd round.

:(

oh there was no sarcasm I truly believe that Luongo is that good I mean the guy made 72 fucking saves in one game with him and either Nasland or the sedin's getting hot they are a very dangerous team

i am just hoping that it goes to game 7 for the ducks and some takes out pronger....

becuase i know that the sharks are going to get past the wings, but i think that it will take six games to do it. hand shakes in san jose this time, and then rob we will see each other in the finals. same thing we have been talking about all year

I have a better chance of winning the cup than the sharks the wings in 5 and that is being generous

well we will see in a few hours on that one. san jose might even take game one in the the "house of pain"

not easy to win at joe, but we did it this year. the sharks played the wings four times this year and won three of the four games. the wings will not be able to stay out of the box, and the sharks will score with the extra man. sharks in six.

i just want the ducks to take it to seven and then maybe lose. i do think that they are the team to beat in the west.

i would love to see a rangers - devils final in the east. it would be good for the NHL

It would be a bloodbath, DEVILS and Rangers fans hate each other and the teams have a bitter rivalry. It would be alot of fun beating on Rangers fans

Go Devils!!!!

flashfire 04-26-2007 03:07 PM

Vancouver got shut out 3 times in the first round and won...is that a record? They suck big time except for Lou...They were lucky Dallas couldnt score to save their lives but there is ZERO chance for them now

Damn Ottawa slipped a 4-1 lead after the 1st and are 4-3 now and getting steamrolled, WTF.:helpme

Moraxian 04-26-2007 06:29 PM

It's the Sabres Cup to lose, barring injuries. If they don't win they can only blame themselves. The Senators and Devils are going to spend seven games beating the snot out of each other and the winner that emerges, whomever it is, is going to stagger into Buffalo and get what's left of their asses kicked.

The Rangers are in this round only because they managed to draw an opponent that matches up poorly with a front heavy team like the Rangers...

Out west, watch out for San Jose...they're much better than their record indicates, and Detroit is good but isn't as good as their record (Both Det. and Nashville get 12 extra games vs. Columbus, St. Louis and Chicago compared to San Jose...) Anaheim and Vancouver are also both good teams too, so whomever survives the West is also going to be beaten up pretty good...meaning Buffalo might also make mincemeat out of them too...

I am chauncy 04-26-2007 07:33 PM

me and my wings = owned tonight by the sharks

I'm going to Counter this and predict that Ottawa will win their series one game sooner than Buffalo-NY Rangers ends, thus giving them a few precious days to rest up.

If it does come to a Sens-Sabres semi I'll say Ottawa takes it in 7.

I like the way Ottawa is playing.
