Why ePassporte was shut down by Visa
Any intelligent human being can gather that one of the most likely reasons ePassporte went down is because Visa had no way of making sure that ePassporte users where NOT using the service to hide/transfer money to avoid taxes.
I am not insinuating people did that, but you have to admit, ePassporte was a very easy way to get paid and never report the income. It was a compelling tool to break the laws. Disclaimer: I don?t know anyone with ePassporte and not affiliated with them in any way and this is simply my opinion. |

I got shit related to the new regulations regarding my MAINSTREAM prepaid cards from Wal-Mart. Knew it was only a matter of time until this stuff (I have 14 accounts, lol) was slapped down.

obviously some people will avoid taxes using any means nec. bank, western union , etc Quote:
Not that your theory is completely bunk, i think the real reason has a bit of everything. st kitts mad because epass started using the wallet to cut out st kitts st kitts mad because epass "perhaps" started draining stagnant accounts ( remember how epass started x cross-sales ) st kitts mad because epass can use programming to bypass visa reg's/irs/terrorism everything usually boils down to money or sex and someone isn't getting one of those. Sex isn't an issue here so that leaves money. Someone wasn't getting enough money. Visa was getting their cut, epass was getting their cut, st kitts was slowly losing their cut..

Do you think VISA cares if people aren't paying taxes? They care about their bottom line (fees from transactions). Leaving ePassporte running would be in their best interest.

Just came across some court documents, thought I would share this info. Epass was being sued (no surprise) in Sept. 2010 for another issue in which they were attempting not to pay an affiliate his funds. Basically it goes like this. 1.The attorney for Plaintiff issues a deposition Subpoena to Epassporte. Gregory Elias responds by saying "sorry, epassporte is a Curacao co. and doesn't respond to u.s. subpoenas, try a curacao court." 2. The attorney for Plaintiff issues demand for documents to same with same response. 3. The attorney for Plaintiff issues same to Joseph Mccann (mallicks u.s. atty) for 24-7 commerical mktg, Mccann responds that they can't because those belong to epassporte and any documentation that 24-7 CM has is subject to confidentiality ...etc.. you must ask Epassporte. 4. The attorney for Plaintiff issues supoena for Epass employees, Joseph Mccann (mallicks atty) now responds (surprise) that he is the atty for Epass AND 24-7cm, but that Epass has No U.S. employee's and only has ONE EMPLOYEE. Who is Epass' only employee? Gregory Elias. A one man company. He must have been so busy. Based on the documentation, this one had been going on for over a year, and for not much money. The plaintiff just stuck with it because he didn't want to let Mallick rip him off. |

One thing I will say is that if the US government ever did want to attack this industry it would probably find it very easy. I bet a huge swath could be taken out for fraud related charges alone. I think there are many who operate on the edge of the law and have a false sense of security. |

He is too High Profile and he lost themoney anyway in his movie production company. I'm sure that he took care of himself but had he committed prsecutalbe crimes, he would have gone down long ago. It's all in the TOS which all ePassporte users agreed to. ePassporte acount holders are fucked. Permanently. I feel sorry for them but I never trusted ePass from the start, so did not lose one thin dime but was indeed able to help a few people get some money out. Way too many "We can do this! ;)" things and no real verification required for signup, which was a really, really big violation of the TOS of VISA and in complete violation of US law and of course, no matter where you accept or do VISA, that transaction is subject to US law. VISA is a US corporation, regardless of where you do biz with it and in the end, US law will trump. And it did. Best to move along and do the best that you can to recover your losses. |

Well that and the fact that Malick spent all the money making a movie that never hit theaters!
Here's what happened. Epass had our money in a bank. They then decided to open their OWN bank. So then our money is during in a bank owned by Malick. (A lot of it, anyway.) Malick decides to make a movie, so he needs to borrow several million from a bank. Which bank does he get the loan from? The bank he owns! So our money, which epass handed to the bank, is at that point loaned to Malick's production company. That's all fine because when people buy tickets to the movie the loan will be paid back and the bank will have our money. Except that the movie sucked so bad it never went national. Only $150,000 in tickets were sold for a movie that cost millions to make. Malick's movie company can't pay back the loan. Our money is gone. Malick'a bank goes out businesss. Yet someone eventually saw two it that we got our money back, at least debit card money. It took a couple of months, but my money was returned to me. From what I can see, Malick went from high roller to losing it all by risking our money and his business ib the movie. I don'tb think he's "laughing" about going from the king of porn payments to unemployed. Malick is definitely an asshole for rising our money on the movie loan. Still, the fact that the money was eventually repaid makes me suspect that the head of epass, Malick, did some work to make that happen. It doesn't make up gor him losing the money for months, but it suggests that he not laughing about the situation.

The bank SKNANB then arranged to give people back their VISA acct. funds. Everyone else who trusted Mallick and his "Safe Wallet" had their money embezzled. People were not told that the "Safe Wallet" was actually outside of Visa/SKNANB, as they transfered their money away forever. In the USA, It's called fraud. |
