So it looks like CZ is a small country full of people fearing for their safety, and the few people that do have guns use them to kill people.

Those stats make the US look bad too and I'm sure there are 100's of other crime stats that show the US is much worse, but you act like CZ is some perfect utopia with no crime and no gun violence. So, just saying.

i actually dont care much for those lists, i live here, i walk around at night, even drunk girls walk around by night alone. i have not heard from anyone over the last 10 years since my first visit who got in trouble.

besides from 1-2 bar brawls maybe.

but like i said in my earlier post - there places/cities here in CZ that are certainly not the same. I would not recommend to walk around drunk at night, looking like a tourist, in cities like Decin, Teplice and some others.

But Prague & Brno? No problems.

The U.S. has way more cities than CZ like you spoke of where you walk around at night, drunk girls walk around alone, etc etc. You're talking about a country that is 30,000 square miles vs. a country that is 3.7 million square miles. Anything you have in CZ, we have here but 100 times more. That same goes for the bad too though, you mentioned cities you wouldn't walk around in at night, we have those too.

When Europeans talk about this country, they seem to forget just how big this country really is. We have PARKS bigger than some European countries.

I feel sorry for any President, Congress, or any political leader to state Americans should ban guns. We have a constitutional right to bare arms. Almost every American I know owns a firearm and has a stash of ammo in a lock box.

It's like trying to ban Alcohol -- That obviously didn't work out too well. If anything, it made issues worse. And succeeded in financing some of the biggest gangsters / mobsters in the world.

So tired of the cross-politics between countries. Don't hate on America unless you are living here. Pay your taxes, then you have the right to bitch.

Most of the present day problems in those cities can be attributed to the post WWII ethnic cleansing that occurred that region. Gotta wonder if the central CZ government hasn't since come to regret those decisions.

I don't know if it's been stated in this thread,but if we were able to edit those statistics by removing the ghetto and inner city crime,the US would be one of the safest places on the planet. In Madison, which is over 1/2m in population there is a handful of shootings annually. And those are in the bad part of the city. In Milwaukee there are a couple of homicides every day. Again, in the bad part of the city. If you look at crime stats for the suburbs of nearly every city and smaller town in America, there is very little crime to report.

The bow thing does not count. I could probably kill you with an ak47 from 30 yards having never fired a gun. I would be less likely todo so with a bow. And certainly could not shoot it ten times accurately and quickly. There is a reason people use guns.

Add that it is very hard to kill 20-30 people with a knife and banning guns gets traction Ina rational debate.

When you do the math of how many guns per person and you compare most modern countries to the US you see our gun deaths are 10-20 times higher.
