oy vey..

I don't think the licencing thing is an issue, Mutt has stated repeatly, it was done for free. And from what I hear, there was only ever one release signed for a specific gorup of sets (4-5) there for he has no rigths , if that is case.

The 2257 is a serious issue that need to be sorted asap, but seeing that she is the only girl in shoots that should not be hard to sort out.

If the site is infringing in bad faith and does not attempt to resolve the situation, then all processing gets shut off, including rebills. That would mean affiliates would not be payed.

This thread is very beefy. Not too many of the usual "sig placement" posts.

True... this may be somewhat more complex though.... it's not like some site "pirated" a bunch of content and is making cash on it. :2 cents:

if you go back to page 1..which is about 10,000 posts ago..she was shutting the site down because she had no rights or license to use the content. And that Mutt was enforcing that.

DateDoc 10-23-2005 10:08 PM

hmmm, I am wondering if it has come to the point that, even if the site stays live during the switch to NATS, a webmaster is liable for linking to unlicensed content and could in fact be sued.

well it what I heard was true and he has no documents for the content, and has said it was all done for free. She "worked" doing the shoot, and was not given compensation in return for a release, then who really owns it? Mutts is saying "I did it for free" and now she is saying thank you, but I think its really mine....

Marcus Aurelius 10-23-2005 10:12 PM

Just got an email from her saying ignore the previous email. :) my guess is thats pretty much impossible to do now.

Mutt 10-23-2005 10:18 PM

ugh - AGAIN

NO AFFILIATE IS GOING TO BE HURT BY ME. ASHLEY IS GOING TO HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO GO OFF AND SHOOT HER OWN CONTENT TO REPLACE WHAT IS MINE.

anybody who would promote a girl who avoided them like the friggin bubonic plague for 6 months cuz she had more important things to do - that's up to you, not like there's a shortage of solo girl sites to send traffic to these days.

Ashley please read this. Do you have any Idea how many pages and links I have going to you? On know more than whim you are willing to waste 7 months of my work. I maybe your biggest affilaite after reading your sales per day but Im sure as hell stoping now.
Mutt thanks for all the help and Ill hit you up on ICQ when all this quietens down.

I am basing my decision not to promote her site because of this, can't be to careful these days and IMHO without Mutt running the day to day operations I wouldn't give the site more then 3 weeks before its shut down for one reason or another.

No offence to Ashley but I just don't think she understands how hard it really is to deal with all the issues with a site and affiliate.

tapatio 10-23-2005 10:33 PM

Hello again everyone,
I have decided that I'm going to keep the current site up after being advised - until I can have everything replaced that needs to be replaced. You do not have to take down any links to my site. It would simply effect too many people to work things that way. I should be able to have the switch over completed in a week. The change over to NATS will not interrupt your traffic at all. The most that will happen is that you will have two areas of stats to check.

now she is gonna have to pay a few people to maintain it since she doesn't know how to do any of it. and its not easy because you have to constantly tweak shit.

the only way would be like Mutt said find a webmaster to date or find another sucker.

BTW ashley I'm always available and down with the bartering system

Roger you are so right...

Ashley, making bad biz deals is all part of growing up...we all make mistakes, you just have to learn from them. Kiss this deal goodbye and think of it as a great lesson and move on to the next big thing.

Contact Roger he knows what the hell he is doing for sure, or you can hit Smashbucks, we would be very interested in speaking with you. :pimp

Another good rule to follow, make sure its ALL BIZ and none of that other shit that clouds the way to making money and keeping shit tight.

You go into biz to MAKE MONEY that is it, take care of your people and get paid. Its a ton of work, make solid deals, get it all on the table, or dont make the deal, all the what if's

I won't get into my feelings but my hat goes off to Mutt and I've met Ashley and all I know is I won't be putting up Nats links to her site.. Sorry girl but I like ccbill weekly checks and you don't make me $100 a week to get the min so you aren't worth my time when you would send out a email caring so little about the work we do for you

Mike has a great point here.. If she was to get with a reputable company that has shown over and over again that they are trust worthy and can maintain a site, then she would keep all her affiliates now as well as get new affiliates.

Like I said I would give this whole thing 3 weeks before it goes down if it was someone that cant build an html page to save there life live Mutt stated, but if someone like MikeH or RogerV for instance were to take over the site then I would think half the community would be promoting her again in a heart beat.

vicki 10-23-2005 11:54 PM

I can't believe I've read this entire thread *shaking head*

I only have two things to say:

1. Mutt, so many have great respect for you .. my advice is to QUIT POSTING!
2. Ashley, there is an old saying - It goes like this "sh*t or get off the pot". You say you want to run your own program and have control .. then I suggest you grow up and learn how to DO it. This thread alone shows you haven't bothered to think this through on a professional level. It's a BUSINESS, treat it as such.

my 2 cents and now i'm back into the cave and back to work

Rochard 10-23-2005 11:56 PM

Let me see if I have this right..... A twenty-two year old model with no business experience who can't make an HTML page and who has screwed over a few webmasters..... Has emailed all of her affiliates asking to remove their links because she's shutting down her site...... Smooth. Really smooth.

You fail to understand how this bussiness works at the most basic levels. You can't take down your site; You have paying members. Also, a good portion of the traffic you have coming in is now lost, no matter that you've now announced in this thread that you'll be keeping your site open. The damage has been done; Links have already started coming down.

I don't know Mutt personally. I've done some business with him and he's been great; I've heard wonderful things about him. Seems to me like he was the best thing that has ever happened to you and he was asking nothing in return.

I see a sea of change for the industry in how models will be dealt with in the future. Program owners are tired of putting in time, effort, and money into a model only to have them leave every time the grass is greener on the side. I see it coming in the near future where photographers will play dumb with models, shoot them in bulk, never tell them about a site, never take them to shows, and never cut them in on the profits of the site.

And new models come around every day of the week.

I could never do it because I already know her type.. Plus I like paying the models upfront and make all the money with the webmasters because they don't understand the buisness side of things been there done it.

Thanks for the props though

Many girls to choose from to make a solo site these days because in the old days the girls did cam shows like 3 times a week to keep members. now they are to lazy and want the world

I aplogize for all the confusion. This seems to be the best option to effect the least amount of people.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at [email protected].
I will be unavailabe for the next 18 hours or so - I will be on a flight home but will answer any emails I have recieved as soon as I get home.

Yeah... that was above....

Paul Markham 10-24-2005 12:20 AM

I got to the second page and have to go, so will leave this comment.

models need paying on the day they work, they sign a model release and the shooter owns 100% the contwent with all rights.

Going into "partnership" with them is a route to grief. They either want out of the business and expect the site to come down or get the idea that all is needed is them with their legs open to make money. few last the course unless they see a massive check coming in every week and no way to increase on it.

Sorry Ashley but this is based on 28 years of experience as a shooter and one of the few guys who made a success of a partnership with a model. My luck is not easily repeated.

I look at it this way.... I couldn't care about any of you until you die, then I pay your loved ones through some epassporte account for your buriel.

I will promote anyone I can make money off of...

It is just less stressful that way.

LiveDose 10-24-2005 12:45 AM

Holy shit,,, I caught up.

A lot of good points in this thread and interesting insights. I have nothing to add since I don't know the parties involved. Mutt seems like a stand up guy from all his posts of the past. Dude don't lose your faith in helping people but stay away from the smelly fish. If something smells it's fuckin' rotten man.

Our links will come down and not go back up. Fuck me once shame on you. Fuck me twice shame on me. Way too many cute girls to promote & shoot these days. But looking forward to her hardcore comeback someday. I'll trial that...

Mutt - I'm sorry to hear about this whole mess. It must feel like a huge slap in the face & unfortunately, one of the reasons noobs are treated like garbage on the boards these days. Lots of webmasters have spent time helping out male webmasters too only to see the same thing happen - people just not willing to put in the work.

Is John still shooting models? My folks are out in Winnipeg & I would love to work with him next time I go for a visit.
