Webcams.com Runs a Youtube site with Full movies

Hello

I found www.thatfreesite.com property of webcams.com
They have a youtube production online with long play movies.
Portal is stuffed with categories and 1000s of full movies.

I asked webcams.com why they do this, they say it is for testing purposes to test what sells best of a sponsor

Movies are from 10 minutes to 45 minutes.

Is this legal?

Looked to me like most of the long movies were all the intro portion of the videos and very little actual porn there. And who owns the sites for the vids? Looked like mostly same sites. Just cause its a video site doesnt mean shit is bad.

If I own the rights to a video I can give it away if I want right?

somebody fill me in - why do those full vid "porn sites" have social bookmarking buttons like digg, del.icio.us, etc there. I thought those social bookmarks didn't accept adult content :

Actually i don't see a problem with what webcams.com is doing. If sponsors allow them to use there content like then the affiliate needs to take up the problem with the sponsor. First page i see nastydollars stuff if they let them use it as a affiliate i would be pissed. Now im just curious if webcams.com is using the user submitted loop hole on this deal...

legit as in they have permission so all is good?

- It's cool for Webcams.com to give away their own long videos free but not let their affiliates do it?

-It's cool for other sponsors to let Webcams.com use their long videos but not let other affiliates do it?

-It's just cool to give away long videos to surfers?

or all of the above?

If someone has the right to do it, then I guess they can do it. All the rest is opinion.

Is this legal? Who owns movieroom? does webcams.com own it? if not does webcams.com have permission to from the owners of movieroom.com to use their content. If yes, then it is legal.

If they own the content or have the sponsor's permission to use the content then its case closed. If they want to show 2 hour long videos they own or have permission to use they can do what the hell they want.

They are obviously trying to see if they can make money with a tube site. Oh look they have AFF banners. All of you people who touch AFF, i hope you burn in hell.

if it is legal, its called trying to stay ahead of the game and making money. A lot of people here don't like legl tube sites, but if people are making money with them and more and more doing it, you can either complain about it and watch your sales suffer or you can try to make changes to adapt to it.

i have a big problem with the sites who steal content and use it to make money. I have no problem with sites who own the content or have permission to use it.

What is happening here is that picture and videos are becoming advertising tools for interactive membership sites, cam sites, and dating sites. If you own a picture and video site with no interaction then you are being squeezed out of business. Unfortunetly there is no way to stop it.

Tube sites are the final step in the evolution of picture and videos being used for promotional purposes to make upsells. It started with 10 pictures on a tgp - > 4 video clips 30 seconds long on a MGP page -> tube sites with 2min - full video clips.

cool ? no, but their decission to do so. It's not like they are stealling from their affiliates or other affiliates.

I see the same as a company saying we are the only ones who can bid on our domain name, our affiliates can not bid on our domain name. I don't think that is cool, but they aren't fucking anyone with a decission like that.

I don't get this. I checked the site out and found a "we live together" video. But the only adverts on the page were to webcams.com and some text adverts to other paysites. No link at all to We live together - Nasty Dollars.

If you use a paysite content you should atleast have a fucken link to their site.

I think it is pretty close to stealing if they can offer a lot more free content direct to the surfer or allow only certain affiliates to do so openly.

This is basically taking sales away from affiliates.

Say if Clickcash paid me the same as you but my surfers didn't need to enter CC info to join. Would you say "not cool but up to them" or would you be screaming foul. Not the same situation but I hope you see where I'm coming from.

or if you went to Ifriends directly, not thru' an affiliate link they would give you a 10 hour credit if you signed up there... would your sales be affected?

Basically what I'm saying is it doesn't seem fair for a company to be directly offering so much free content to surfers but not letting all it's affiliates do the same. I don't see that the same as non compete on domain name and other keywords.

Also as was stated earlier it seems weird that a company would let its content be used and be quite happy with other companies banners on the same page?

Seems it would have the same negative affect on us as affiliates as a torrent site or illegal tube site that has content for free that we are trying to get the surfer to pay for would have.

Yes I need to "evolve or die" etc not saying I'm not but it appears in this particular case the affiliates are being cut out of the deal.

Fair ? just don't use that company then. If the affiliates are being cut out, then they should move on to a better deal and not promote that company. That is such a simple and obvious solution you wouldnt think anyone would have to mention it.

There is a HUGE difference in what you are talking about here.

Point 1: if a company offers one thing to one affiliate and something less to you, then don't promote them. Thats not stealling. Some companies pay certain affiliates more per sale then they do others, is that stealing from the person who is paid less, no? is it fair ? If you don't like their policies don't use them.

The things I have problem with is companies who's policies steal from everyone else, whether is black and white such as with stolen content, or by using spyware to steal traffic. If clickcash offers you more money than me, or they offer their own traffic $10 free, fine. I decided if I want to use them or another company. No big deal. I might think it is shitty but shitty and stealing are two totally different things.

Point 2: Giving away content is not stealling if the company giving it away owns it or has rights to use it. It's not even close to stealing. If i give away a 10 minute clip and I make sales because of it, I am making sales. The more sales i make the less you make. In theory then, every sale I make would be stealling because that is one less sale you would make. It's called sales and marketing. 30 seconds videos, 2 min videos, 2 hour videos, if people want to use long videos, and they own the video, and they can make money from doing it, more power to them. They are not stealing from you. If they do it with stolen content then it is a different story.

this thread makes me laugh, so do you people just hate ALL tubes sites or just too stupid to know the differance between the ones that use the content legally and the ones that dont. of course sponsors give longer promo clips to webcams, they own freeporn.com and that in theory would mean a lot of traffic for me as a sponsor if i give in and make them a few extra long clips.

Well that is the answer to everything of course but doesn't really address the problem. The definition of stealing also varies with how you look at it. Most concerns affiliates have with sponsors are indeed about being fair rather than the sponsor doing something illegal and are posted in the hope (sig views aside) that the sponsor will correct the problem or at least explain their position so that the affiliate won't have to drop them or other sponsors doing the same thing.

I would like to hear Webcams.com reasoning behind the site. If the site was in the affiliate tools area as a ready made cobranded tube site with randomized videos with my codes etc I would love it but I'm lazy like that. They've been on the cutting edge before with the ability to customize feeds and videos better than anyone else so who knows maybe this really is a "test" of some sorts.

Actually that will probably be the next thing lazy affiliates are demanding from sponsors. It only took most of them two to three years to provide rss feeds or even hosted blogs so expect most sponsors to have plug in tube sites for affiliates sometime around 2010... if there are any non dating/cam sites left by then that is
