Bank of America is the worst company I have every used - fucking scammers

Bank of America is the worst fucking company I have ever banked with. Their credit cards are fucking shady and they will fuck you over as soon as you have a balance. I have had multiple issues with them over the past 3 months the most recent being a credit card with no balance on it and as soon as I put a few transactions on it they boosted the apr after sending me a letter advertising my "new lower rate." Then the bitch I talked to came up with all kinds of bullshit about how I am a credit risk and cut my limit to within $100 of the current balance. I can't believe the shady shit they do there. I have had issues with them in the past but they were usually resolved - needless to say I closed my personal and business accounts there and will never use their shitty fucking company again.

I remember seeing similar post here in the past and now I wish I would have taken them seriously - they have now lost 3 banking accounts and 2 credit accounts over their greed.

I've had issues with them in the past. I have 2 personal accounts, a credit card and 2 business accounts with them right now. Moving to another bank will just give you a different set of problems - none of them are perfect and without issues once in a while.

A branch manager can usually straighten out whatever is bothering you. Don't rely on their online customer service people - most of them are totally worthless. I've had the best experience by just walking into a bank and asking for a manager.

I deal only with cash. My account grows while those I know using CCs seem to fall farther and farther behind these days.

I've had some problems with them to in the last few months too. I think they are being pressured to squeeze out the cash any way they can. That said, I did as Dean said above and not only fixed things, but got biz account fees waived for a year. Talk to someone face to face at your branch. Always better.

It bugs me that they bought a regional bank here that was great (LaSalle). The one thing that pissed me off is they don't cash in your change. What the fuck kind of bank can't cash your change?

I have never had any issues with them. I have two accounts, one of them a business account. I also have two credit cards with them and only a few minor problems that were worked out by calling. Every CC company is raising APR's, been all over the news. They are getting scared that the next wave of defaults is CC defaults.

We have three business accounts (our adult business and two mainstream), two personal accounts, a mortgage, and one credit card with them... and we don't have any problems.

I'm sure ALL banks are tightening up their credit risks as much as they can, though... so if you fall in that category, chances are that would happen no matter what bank you were with. Sorry about your problems.

read your mail, the fun is just beginning, they now have a new policy of boucing checks..

You bounce a check for even a measly $5 and you will be charged a $39 fee.
And on top of that any additional checks will be charged a $39 plus an additional $10 per check, so if yo fuck up and write 5 $5 checks and they all bounce, it looks like you are paying

$39 * 4 + $40 or a total $196 in fines.
So before you write acheck the day you deposit your check,
think about that and say Fuck Bank Of America and go elsewhere

Putting your fucking money in a bank makes their livelyhood,
Not destroy you own for what is the interest rate these days.

I have a couple of accounts at BofA and asked them to refinance a piece of commerical property for me. It was a great deal for the bank and I'm nowhere near upside down on the note. The commercial property banker told me they don't do business with people who earn their money in the adult industry.

I'm looking to move to a credit union where my $$ might be more appreciated.

Dean gets bingo.....with all the people going postal....and the non personal service of working with someone over the phone.....go into the brance.....escalate it if your working with a peeon who doesnt know the code/doesnt want to lose their job to the brance manager....explain your case calmly.....last ditch effort.....just say I would like to close all of my accounts NOW....even if you have IRA's/CD's etc......its a case of short/long term thinking.....most branch managers.....see the long term......and figure they will be able to drain you over the years......fuck if you have enough $$$ already in there.....simple put say.....your making more off my money being in your bank......are you willing to risk it over THIS?

thanks when its a showdown.....also remind them the the customer is ALWAYS right.....unless the customer is an habitual check bouncer.....

yeah fuck BOA.

I've been getting killed by their 25% interest rate for middle class people who pay their bills on time.

One day, i called them & asked them to lower my interest rate. I went through a 30 minute application to get a line of credit with a lower interest rate. They tell me i don't qualify for the loan because i don't make enough money. Then they said they can refer to me to their credit counseler, & i can get a lower payment from them. They transfered my call. I went through another 30 minute application for credit counseling. They declined to approve me for credit counseling because i made too much money!!!

90 minutes on the phone for a big run-around, & in the end they did not help me at all. They insulted me.

Let me get this straight....

All you guys bitch and moan about tax money being spend on bailouts because banks have been giving their customers too many loans and credit cards

At the same time you guys bitch when the banks cut your credit lines because they are higher than your networth.

Bailouts is today costing the government 100 million PER DAY in interest, money that could be spend on education or health care instead of helping out poor mr john doe that can't control his credit line or mange his mortgage..

I've used Wells Fargo when I was living in San Diego (I still have the account) and now I have accounts at two regional credit unions. My two small credit unions run circles around Wells Fargo as far as service, in my opinion. Wells Fargo is still to this day calling me and constantly trying to tack on additional BS "services" to screw me out of more money... my credit union has never once tried to nickel and dime me.

I don't know if all "small" banks and credit unions are like this, but I am definitely liking them more and more. They will continue to see my business. Wells Fargo can blow me.

I had $15,000 on a business card with BOA. it was a balance transfer with 7.9% for life interest.

after 9 months they said that they were changing it to 23.9% because my balance was high.

needless to say, after 9 years, I have changed banks.

Fuck BofA... worst bank ever.

I had personal and business checking as well as two credit cards and I closed them all. Try a local credit union if you want better service!

They cut are limit too on our credit cards. Went got a home loan approved threw them. Went in next day with my CC to get a cash advance to pay for my closing cost. Had 19k limit on card with $9500 free. Asked for $4500 they cut my credit limit to $100 above what was all ready on the card. So they lost a $290k home sale over $4500. Now i am waiting to see my rate jump up

BOA is pretty nasty. I had two issues w/ them in the past few months. The first was the "standard" raising of the rate crap their all doing now. I called in and got them to lower it back to the original rate + .5 (8.5% at the end - better than the 16% they tried to stick me with).

Second incident was just last week. Sent me a letter saying they were CUTTING my available credit in half. Claimed it was due to my lack of use of the card. Again called them up and at the end of the call they had me back to my original limit.

The key is to just suck it up, play dumb and innocent, get past the first line and speak to the second line folks. There's no point in getting all pissy with them - no matter how much they suck. Think about it - the people answering the phones HATE their jobs and their only true satisfaction they get is being able to stick it to people that call in and bitch at them.

Play innocent: "gee, i'm not sure what happened here, is there someone I can talk to about this" - get to the next level of customer service - play nice again and unless you really do have some credit issues they will set you back to your original stuff. The best revenge is to keep the account open and only use it once every couple of months to fill your gas tank.

Get a line of credit w/ your local credit union or local / regional banks and avoid all this crap for now.

I also had to go through the rate crap w/ my 2 Citi cards and my wife's Chase card. Got them all straightened out though by playing nice w/ them. They're all criminals, they all suck, and unfortunately the only way to 'beat' them for now is to suck it up and play nice.

Heard Obama and his crew are putting some restrictions and rules to how banks can change rates. "The time of credit heaven has to end" (said something like that)
